I had a pastor once that had a new fancy church, a new fancy car, and a new fancy mantion. I had no money, but in his church if you did not give when the basket was passed around, the pastor and every one in the church would stair at you until you put the only mony you had into the basket. I read the Bible, I don't go to church anymore. I tithe to homeless people not rich churches.

I went to a church like that, in the end I clicked on that they were preaching the prosperity gospel, which going by these TV Evangelists, is definitely the false gospel the Bible tells us to watch out for. There was so much wrong with its leadership too, they taught the tongues doctrine, and insisted everyone had to speak in tongues as evidence of being filled with the Holy Spirit, I was told I wasn’t spirit filled because I didn’t speak in tongues. This is a very divisive doctrine, because it’s becomes a them and us attitude and those who do speak in tongues feel superior to people like me who don’t and they claimed they didn’t treat me any differently, but I know they did. Mind you, I’ve seen a lot of videos about tongues and they say this is actually a Kundalini spirit, and I definitely saw the identical behaviour as those in the eastern religions. But, you’re definitely better off without a church like that! Good luck and God bless 🙏🙏🙏

The very fact that you observed, the fancy car, fancy church and fancy mantion should have given some indication on the orientation. But that's good you came out of there. But one thing Church is about fellowship it can be a seperate building it can also be in one's house you can refer to Philemon. Supporting the church and providing for the saints is also what we have been commanded to do. Whichever church you may go to in the future see if they are teaching from the Bible and if they have a heart for the poor and needy and their attitude towards building of its people in the scriptures.

One of the best Pastors I ever had would say exactly this from the stage, much to the initial chagrin of the elders. Any time he talked about tithing and offering, he'd point out that it wasn't about giving it to his church, it was about giving back to God, and that maybe that means you should give it to another church, or use it to care for orphans and widows, or in some other way that prayer leads you to. He also instituted systems for offering so no one could know what anyone was giving, like little envelopes to cover the cash, recurring automatic payments so a lot of people weren't even doing the envelope thing, offering boxes in the lobby and restrooms so you could give more privately, and a few other little things. When the elders have their report to the body, they said average offering compared to number in attendance was actually going up, and they were able to start new outreach programs.

God sees what's in the heart, not what is in the hand. Tithing is a guiding principle, but it also shows what's in one's heart. A rich man can tithe with a contrite heart and so can a poor person give half of what he/ she earns without a second thought.

The widow as well as the rich man can all afford to pay 10% to God. The widow’s mite was a small amount, but it was 10% for her. When I stand before God, I don’t want to say, I gave 6% for tithing and used your other 4% for me. I’m sorry, but less than 10% doesn’t show a complete devotion.

Let's look at this honestly: Abraham gave a tenth of the SPOILS to Melchizedek. Abraham's wealth was still up in northern Canaan. He gave a tithe of the spoils that he had no intention of keeping for himself before he went back home to his place in northern Canaan. We are never told that Abraham gathered together a tenth of his personal wealth to hand over to Melchizedek. Israel never did even mimic what Abraham did with the spoils of war, so how did Abraham invent tithing from earned wages? He didn't. This stuff John is teaching about the tithe is false teaching. The fact that Abraham returned intentionally to Sodom and returned the spoils proves he never considered those spoils to be his in the first place. Who among you would keep spoils that never did belong to you in the first place? Is that an ethic taught by Christ? No, and yet people will assume upon Abraham what the text says is not at all what he believed, as is evidenced in his actions. What a lie this tithe teaching is....

This message is for the attention of Dr Barnett.
About 10 to 12 years ago I studied the letter to the Hebrews. When I got to the verse where the writer said to his readers that he has so much more to tell them about Melchizedek but that they had become hard of hearing and has to be fed with with milk. I prayed and asked the Holy Spirit to explain to me what it was that the writer could not tell them. God said, go to where Abraham and Melchizedek met in the old testament. I read the whole chapter to get the background to the verse where it stated that Melchizedek brought Abraham BREAD AND WINE. These words jumped from the pages into my mind. God, was Abraham the first man whom was served Holy Communion??
A lot of questions jumped into my mind.
Paul writes that also to Abraham the Gospel was told. Was it Melchizedek who told him that Yeshua would also die for his sin and that of the whole world. Dit Melchizedek told him that God would raise Yeshua from the dead. Is this the reason why Abraham was prepared to offer Isaac as n sacrifice for he believed that God can raise the dead back to life Why is Yeshua decleared by an oath that He is High Priest according to the order of Melchizedek? Peter and John declares that we are kings and priests in Gods Kingdom Kings to rule over sin in our life and priests according to the order of our High Priest. Peter concludes that we were made kings and priests to declare the virtues of our High Priest.
Thank you for all your teachings. I always try to listen to all of them. There are not many around who has the insight and the ability to convey it accurate ly as you do. May God bless you in your ministry.

Tithing is not a new testament concept as we have no priests to accept the tithe. The tithe was not given to kings, pastors, congregations or anyone other than a priest like Melchizedek or later the sons of Aaron. Similarly, they didn't give 10% but somewhere between 25-30%. It was basically the taxation system for Israel. We don't have anything of that sort. Jesus asks Peter in Matthew 17 " From whom do the kings of the earth collect duty and taxes-from their own children or from others?” "From others" Peter answers. "Then the children are exempt," Jesus said to him. And we are the children of God and do not pay any such taxes. However, freely ye have been given, freely give.

I'm not going to argue about genealogies however there is evidence that they took out over 650 years out of the genealogies in the Hebrew Manuscript used to translate the OT in all modern bibles. In the Septuagint and the Samaritan Pentateuch those 650 years that even ancient scholars like Josephus mention were taken off these men who most lived into their hundred's before having a kid. This brought Shem forward in time whilst bringing everyone back to him so that he could live long enough to have met Abram. This was done to counteract what our brothers in Christ were saying in those days; linking Christ to Melchizedek and a higher priesthood then the Aaronic or the Levitical priesthood.
I think this is one if the reasons outside of Jesus', why our brethren in Paul's and Peter's time were warned not to get involved in debates over genealogies.

Though Jesus is of the tribe of Judah, through His adopted father Joseph, who adopted Him before birth, and through His mother Mary's father, from whom He inherited His human tribal identity also, it is very likely that His genetic makeup was half from the family of the High Priest Aaron. John the Baptist was of the family of Aaron on both his mother's side and his father's side. Elizabeth was Mary's first cousin, and she was a direct descendant of Aaron. This means that Jesus was likely a direct descendant of Aaron, through Mary's mother.
Jesus, genetically, may have been directly descended from the High Priest Aaron, of the tribe of Levi, as well as from King David, from whom He received His tribal identity and His Kingship.
Mary appears to have been a daughter without brothers. Jesus received, therefore, her father's name and inheritance through her, from her father. The only condition being she marry within her own tribe, which she did.
Jesus therefore received His Kingship from both Joseph, and through Mary, from her father.
Before she married, Mary's tribal identity was of the tribe of Judah, for tribal identity is pass down from one's father.
It is interesting that John the Baptist was an only son in the direct line of the High Priest Aaron, and also Jesus's first cousin once removed.
If Elizabeth was a daughter who was without brothers, she may have also inherited through her her father's tribal inheritance and name. John may have inherited an Aaronic priestly title from both his father, and through his mother's father. The reason this may be possible is because it is mentioned that Elizabeth was of Aaronic lineage, as well as his father.

Both she and her husband were well along in years when the angel Gabriel appeared to Zechariah in the Holy of the temple and announced that Elizabeth would give birth to a son who was to be called John. Upon becoming pregnant, Elizabeth kept herself secluded for five months. In the sixth month of her pregnancy she was visited by her relative Mary. On that occasion the unborn John leaped in his mother’s womb, and Elizabeth, filled with holy spirit, blessed Mary and the fruit of her womb, calling her “the mother of my Lord.”-Lu 1:5-7, 11-13, 24, 39-43.

Certainly generosity is encouraged. But this hardly means tithing is a law for everyone since Abram tithed to Melchizedek. It was only once, and from the spoils of war, not his own increase in crops or herds, and it was a common practice in that time to tithe such things to the local priest. Never in the NT are Christians told to tithe, and it was never done on money or wages/salaries. Our mandate is simply to be generous and compassionate.

Melchizadek was a priest living at the time of Abraham directly appointed by Yahweh. The account does not record his genealogy meaning that there was no inheritance that was involved in his appointment. Nor does it record his death AND no mention of any descendants. These are the two ways that Jesus was a high priest according to the manner of Melchizadek. Was he Shem? Maybe, but to try to connect shem to this priest directly appointed by Yahweh detracts away from the scriptural reference.
Jesus was of the tribe of Judah with direct descent from King David. He did not then qualify to be appointed a High priest according to the Aaronic Priestly lines as he did not have this genealogy. He was thus directly appointed as the High Priest by Yahweh according to the same way Melchizadek received his appointment. It is just that simple.

The bible is NOT for "non Jewish" people. The bible is for God's people. First, the Hebrews, then the Church. Natural Israel was circumcised, because God dealt more with the man than the woman. In the Church, in Christ, there is no male/female. But, the natural world, now, the woman is subject to the man. If she's married, to her own husband but, first to her pastor. If she be single, she subject to the pastor. Same for the man. The head of the man is Christ. And, if he be married or single, he is subject to the pastor. The bible says Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves, for they that watches for your souls, that they may give account...
And oh, yes, Melchizedic was Jesus. Melchizedic was Priest of the Most High God. Isn't Jesus our High Priest to the Church?

The idea that Melchizedek = Shem isn't supported by the Septuagint Text ( which is the same text quoted by Jesus, Peter, Jude, indeed, all the jews living in Judea at that time). There is genealogical discrepancy that was accepted in the Masoretic Text. The ages at which Seth, Enos, and Cainan begat children disagree by a total of about 600 years. By these "corrected" figures (adopted by Judaism about 900 to 1000 AD) the Masorites enabled the Jewish leaders to deny Jesus's claim to the Priesthood- by claiming that Aaron existed in Shem/Melchezidek's loins.

Yohanan and Yahusha were both of the Order of Melchizedec thru the bloodline of Elizabeth and Mary. Both are descendants of David. Yohanan(John the Baptist) sanctified by the Ruach Ha Kodesh while in his mother's womb and also was qualified to preach the kingdom message, preparing the way for the coming Mashiach. Levitical preists are the only bloodline qualified to render the oblations and serve in the temple and disqualify both Yohanan and Yahusha.
He, a Jew, was legally not obligated to keep the feasts of the Mosaic Law. If he had kept the feasts, he would have been known by most people, including the Pharisees and the Saducees. He did not even know that the one who was to come was the Mashiach, his first cousin Yahusha... They would have run into each other in the temple sooner or later, right? Not according to Luke's gospel.
There is evidence that Yohanan kept the moral law. He would preach repentance and baptize until he admonished Harod Antipas and imprisoned, thus ending his ministry in CE29.

Noah was the eighth preacher of righteousness (2Pet 2:5 WEB). Therefore his son Shem inherited the title of Melchizedek and met with Abraham according to the genealogy time-line.
Here are the previous men in the messianic line who held the office: Adam, Seth, Enosh, Cainan, Mahalaleel, Jared, Methuselah, then Noah the 8th person and Shem the 9th.
Because of sin and God's redemption plan, He has always provided an intercessory priest -a representative man of God. This priesthood order is superior to the Levitical priesthood by bringing Righteousness beyond temporal atonement. It is eternally fulfilled by Christ after His earthly father (Joseph) died and passed it to Jesus.
Jesus perfect sacrifice paid the penalty (atonement), He resurrected, and will now never die. So He holds the High Priest office forever! Psalm 110:4

There exists a very good argument that the ages of Shem, etc. are wrong, in the version we have accepted. They are too long.
There is an old version that has them shorter.
It is thought it was changed by Jews who saw Jesus as Melchizedek, and wanted to hide the fact, so they changed the ages to accommodate the idea that he was likely Shem, rather than Jesus.

Jesus came in the spirit of God (salvation, truth, grace) He was in the image of God just as Adam (man) was also. He is like God (Michael) yet never struggled with God (Israel)
We are to be one in spirit of God just as Jesus is..... if you or I came in the same spirit, are we the same spirit? Do we not have our own destiny in the spirit of God?

Moses wrote the first books, so start with Leviticus. Moses received some messages there.
'Turn ye not unto idols' means 'Do not worship fantasy gods / statues.' People were still doing that.
Older stories are collective memories that were handed over in spoken form, for many generations.
      - 'I am Alpha and Omega' means 'I am Everywhere. Not fantasy.'
      - 'They sacrificed unto devils' means 'Your ancestors lost their mind.'
      - '... ye have done it unto me' means 'When this is over ... Everything you did, you did it for me'
      - God is everywhere, a lot is possible, but some things have consequences. Early people made up stories.
      - God cannot compete well with fantasy monsters that turn people into actual monsters. God took distance.
      - A long time goes by. God shows up at Moses and others, to lay the foundations of Judaism and its spin-offs.
      - About 2000 years ago God takes full responsibility for all that happened and yet has to come.
      - God also promises to come back when everything is ready. Then people will understand.
      Leviticus 19.4 - Revelation 1.8 - Deuteronomy 32.17 - Matthew 25.40

      - We are all One in the spirit of God, but our minds can be "offline" while busy with self-made spirits/goals/gods.
      - Destiny is the infinite future. All of time already happened "there," at the end of time, where God comes from.
      - God is the Father (all of the past), the Son (the infinite future), and the Holy Spirit (the eternal Now).
      - God is alive in Life. Everywhere and ever. God shapes His own Paradise through His own life experiences everywhere.
      - God always existed and always will, but God is not some horrific almighty ancient fantasy god. People made up stories like that.
      - God guided people into the modern world, through a long dark history. There is much more to this, but now we really can understand.

And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.

John MacArthur gives an 11% tithe but he gets back more than 1% of all the tithes combined, as a hireling, so subtract about 6% that plus he does not pay taxes so were getting close to zero. Randomly speaking.

So Abraham tithed once and only the spoils of war. Now if you can make that into constant tithing as being a requirement for Christians then you are playing fast and loose with scripture. Note the tithe was not the total giving of the Jews under the law either. So committing to part of the giving of the Jews is just traditions of men.

How is living 400 years a more basic life span? I thought 120 years was basic?

Deuteronomy 18:9-12 (KJV) "When thou art come into the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not learn to do after the abominations of those nations.
There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,
Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.
For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee"
This is the problem with the current and prevalent doctrine of the modern day church. Why do you think that there is a point in time eventually reached, when "time will be counted no more," according to Scripture? We each individually must seek understanding from the Holy Ghost and get deep into the whole Word of God. There is a reason why those who forsake His law (the Old Testament/the Torah) are repeatedly scorned by God. I cannot possibly stress the importance of following up, after reading the canonized Scriptures thoroughly, by reading the apocryphal Scriptures in conjunction. In order to gain a much better understanding of canonized Scriptures that we've always had and loved. This is what is symbolized by the oil and the lamps that are carried out by the 5 virgins that were taken up to be with the Lord. The lamp symbolizes the Old Testament because it lights our path and keeps us from stumbling. While the oil symbolizes the New Testament and the anointing one receives from it. But only if you've read the Old Testament prior to it. The Lord says pride goes before destruction and I pray for the church because most have pride in being His and that pride will keep too many from humbling themselves in order to admit that they've been led astray by a false doctrine. This is THE TIME to draw near to Him by drawing near to His Almighty Living Word! I am a witness to the powerful work that He's doing right now! He is truly revealing the secrets and the mysteries to His servants RIGHT NOW! It's even been revealed to me who it was that started the deceiving doctrine that WE'VE ALL been led astray by. The symbolism paints a clear and most beautiful picture telling us His plan for us. There's no curse against Jacob (the church, America) and think of how Jacob wrestled with God until he received a blessing. I too have wrestled with Him (in the Word) and was blessed with peace beyond any explanation. I committed to telling the truth about 5 years ago and I cannot keep this truth to myself for that would be a most serious sin to the Lord. "Hide it under a bushel? No! I'm gonna let it shine!" God bless you brothers and sisters!

Ohhhh....btw He has brought the majority of the lost tribes of Israel into this beautiful land! The people that are currently in the land of Israel are those tribes that made up the southern kingdom of Israel. They rejected His Son; therefore they have rejected the Father. So why the focus and emphasis on that land? I know the importance due to the history of our belief. Which has Jewish roots. What do you think the marriage supper is all about? Us accepting the truth of our own Jewish heritage! This is the truth my brothers and sisters! So rejoice, peculiar people!
