Notice how each Cartwright made a contribution to the task, which ultimately led to a successful outcome: Hoss with the Auger, Adam with the pipe, Joe with the mule, and Ben with the windmill. A great example of the value of cooperation and teamwork.
Actually Joe was the one cleaning his gun, Adam noticed it but said that he got the idea while cleaning his rifle, we didn't see that happening but we most definitely did see Little Joe cleaning his gun so Joe should get the credit for that but Adam did start out with the Auger ( or how ever you spell it) , Hoss noticed him doing it and took the credit for that but all of them did contribute in one way or another
@@verahall6498 Joe doesn't get credit for the auger idea just because he was cleaning his pistol. It's Adam who got the idea from seeing Joe doing that. Cleaning the pistol was a normal chore and nothing inspired.
Bonanza had the most heart warming stories of any TV westerns. Ben Cartwright had an incredible amount of kindness and compassion for his neighbors and fellow man. His patience and understanding were approaching godliness at times. He was always willing to share his fortune with those less fortunate.
It was an absolute 🎉 pleasure 🎉 to see a bit of Majel Barrett in this episode. I am a big fan of her. Most of you are probably fans too. She is part and parcel to one of the most recognizable and highest-grossing media franchises of all time. She is considered the First Lady of it…, did all the computer voices till 2009…,it might help to know her married name or one of her many series roles. Majel Barrett-Rodenberry or Lwaxana Troi. 😅
That's right. James Doohan played Montgomery "Scotty" Scott who was the engineer and Majel Barrett played the nurse at first and then she was the computer voice.
My favourite supporting character is definitely Sherriff Roy Coffee because he never gets swayed by the crowds and always goes by the book. He's always steadfast in his ways, and carefully balances his roles as sherrif, father, citizen, and friend.
Very great episode.I love all the Cartwrigths.Ben and the Boys have very good moral values.the love and kindness toward each other, their great respect for their father and neighbors.love this show.thank you for uploading.
I love the opening scene when they're almost out of water but still offer some of what they have left to Hoss and his horse cause that's just how people were back then. Contracts were made on a handshake and a stranger in need was never turned away
Wow another absolute stellar episode of Bonanza. This one really touches the heart & soul. It's almost Iike that old saying. the Lord helps those who help themselves. And putting your Trust and faith in God and our Lord Jesus. When television shows were just so great to watch.
A TV show reflects the generation it was made and produced in. While episodes like this are great and touching one mustn't forget that some of the earliest shows were still made when society was at its lowest with racism and discrimination and has made a comeback in the present. While this show was a great classic, with a talented cast, great but sometimes incomplete stories, interesting characters, and life lessons we can relate to....we mustn't forget that it was made during a time when man was dehumanizing his fellow man. Something we must still fight and defeat in the present.

Maybe not the quote-unquote best episode, but by far my favorite 😊Everything that endeared me to Bonanza shines in this episode. Love how it highlights the strengths of each of the Ponderosa boys: Hoss's bighearted idealism, Adam's observant and tactical brilliance, Joe's playful creativity, Ben's fierce moral fiber. At the end of the day, this episode (like the series as a whole) is about a family who loves each other, supports each other, works hard together, plays together, and ultimately does what's right together.
I love this episode, and am watching it for the second time in a week. I love how each member of the Cartright family came up with a different solution into finding the water.
As actors they really portrayed genuine smiles and a "thank you Heavenly Father" face when that water started pumping clean clear water. Makes you realize how many folks lived this in their real lives not as actors but genuinely desperate and welling for water. Love the dedication and passion here
Wouldn't it be beneficial to all if Bonanza and all there episodes were reproduced for the generations of today to enjoy ! Of course the actors of the Cartwright's would have to play the exact mannerisms, characters, morals, empathy, wisdom, fairness, and strength of the original characters ! Loved every character , named my son Adam , Adam Cartwright was the mysterious brother, a thinker, always six moves ahead of the others on a chess board ( so to speak ) and had a faster draw than his little brother Joe LOL, that was never gonna be proven LOL ! Yeah , loved Bonanza, father and sons ! Showing how to behave and do things the morally right way .
Great movies like this help us appreciate the past and its hardships. It's too bad some humans today have their hearts set on greed and hatred. Some say the World is civilized but I think we are thousands of years away from true civilization. Civilized Humans do not hurt or hate each other based on whatever scale we measure or judge each other.

Amazing to see another actor in the form of James Doohan who would go on to play Scotty on Star Trek make an appearance on Bonanza alongside DeForest Kelly(Bones)in the Honor of Cochise episode and Leonard Nimoy(Spock) in the Ape episode .
This has got to be my favorite episode. Nobody tried to kidnap any of the Cartwrights or their money and nobody tried to take the Ponderosa Except I hate those vigilante jackasses. I never agreed with that vigilante concept. They're just lawbreakers, as far as I'm concerned
