Hornby 4 wheel coach conversion to Pick up Parcels Van

A sequel to my video on improving the Hornby Holden Tank loco. This one shows how I converted a short Hornby 4 wheel coach into a parcels van and fitted electrical pick ups to it.

I actually asked about this on Hornby's forums. According to someone there, if it was a real-world coach, the freelance 4-wheeled coach would be 26 feet 6 inches long, 8 feet 9 inches wide, and 13 feet 6 inches tall.

You need to somehow rig up a working headlamp on top of the smokebox for branchline passenger work.
Always bothers me seeing a beautifully lit rake of coaches and an engine hidden away in the shadows.
You seem like the kind if guy that could figure out a good solution in DC.

You are too kind sir....In reality, back in the day, steam loco lamps were rather dim and difficult to see...most lamps on models are too bright and I think look unrealistic. However, I have been giving the matter some thought, so far without any success, so who knows?.....Regards Keith

@@KV12543 I've seen DCC concepts have some perfect scale headlamps with LED already installed, I just have no idea how I would rig up power to it on DC or battery. I'm going to grab a few to tinker with and would love to see you do the same!

The wires are apparently 0.1mm thick which I think would strain my modelling skills to the limit so I don't think I will be getting any soon, but if you do, let me know how you get on, Regards Keith @@TrentonLightninghammer
