This man transcends generations, I'm in my late 30's, my children love his music. I first see him live when I was 19 at Hammersmith Apollo. My dad grew up on King's Rd with The Clash, Sex Pistols etc The Jam/Paul Weller have stayed the test of time. His lyrics, melodies, are timeless - proof is in the pudding 3 generations of my family will testify to that. This song especially (from his solo stuff) means so much to me. Anyway I can talk shite all day, cheers guys 🤘🏼

I remember feeling like I was trapped in my life and I was always looking for freedom and I felt like the lyrics of this song summed up this feeling. The song was, kind of, compassionate. Listening to "Wild Wood" this evening, with things in my life becoming clearer, I feel like I'm finally coming out of the confusion. Thank you Mr Weller for sympathising with me through your song. High tide, mid-afternoon
People fly by in the traffics boom
    Knowing just where you're blowing
Getting to where you should be going
Don't let them get you down
    Making you feel guilty about
Golden rain will bring you riches
All the good things you deserve now, right now
    Climbing, forever trying
Find your way out of the wild, wild wood
    Now there's no justice
You've only yourself that you can trust in
And I said high tide, mid-afternoon
Oh, people fly by and the traffics boom
Oh, knowing just where you're blowing
Getting to where you should be going
Day by day your world fades away
Waiting to feel all the dreams that say
Golden rain will bring you riches
All the good things you deserve now
And I said climbing, forever trying
You're gonna find your way out
    Of the wild, wild wood
Said you're gonna find your way out
    Of the wild, wild wood
    Out the wild, wild wood
