Hello from Paris, France. I heard this song in an American restaurant in Paris in 94 or 95, it was such a shock that i had to ask the waitress to give me the name of the singer.... still listening To this man !!! Nobody cares but it remind me this old night.....
I have loved Mr. Weller's music since I was a teenager, starting with The Jam. What really did it for me was The Style Council and now solo is unreal. I highly recommend seeing this man live, you will be blown away. Such an amazing talent "The Modfather".
I was in a petrol station in Roehampton in London and you walked in. Cool, cool, cool. Even you blacked out Mini Cooper parked outside was the business. There was a stand with every combination of music you could imagine. You picked up one of each and every CD on it and bought them. Along with a carton of milk. You said to the guy serving, alright mate? As you were a musical hero of mine, I had got on my phone and was screaming, it's Paul Weller!!! He's down the road in the Petrol station! You sensibly ignored me. 😂 Total respect, man for the path you chose in life. ♥️
For a Yank like me, your story is like something out of a dream. Sounds like it might have been for you too. The Wildwood period epitomized by this song is, I believe, perhaps Wellers very best, and that includes everything, back to the mid seventies...
The Jam, The Style Council, Paul Weller.....the ultimate musician.....the man was born to make music......the career continues with his latest single 'That Dangerous Age'.....what a man! No.1 on the plant...no question!
I remember seeing this video on Top of the Pops in 1993 and thinking to myself "this guy has got his mojo back". Pure and raw the next 4 years he was unstoppable. He is still the master but I dont think anything will ever surpass that period in his career.
@@KABBARANKS It's a great album. A big comeback at a time when he hadn't had a record deal for a while, which seems mad when I think about it. I do love that first solo l.p.
Another fine song by Weller but Paul's singing should be a tad louder. Who is responsible for this over so many years of recording or is it just me? Am I the only one who strains a bit to listen? Maybe that is in small part the reason why loud Americans (not that I am one) didn't get into him as much as they should?
My grandmother bought me a cd player for my birthday all those years ago and this was one of the first songs I bought on a compilation which I forget the name of, just great music back then.
Love this version of Sunflower, so much softer, love that you run your fingers through yourhair, any way you play suits me fine, you're gifted, unique, versatile, a deep rich voice and that passion and feeling i get from you that goes right to my soul....ooooooh, yes! Terri Leckner, Montreal, Canada
This album release was at a significant time in my life where once again, Mr. Weller's music was there at the moment when it especially applied. I cannot wait to see him again. Meeting Paul is on my bucket list.
I remember Paul Weller being marketed as the Godfather of Brit pop after his success with the Jam and the Style Council. The old guy having one last crack at success. I find this incredible seeing he was only 34 when he released this song.
Bring so many happy days to me getting married 11/12/1993 and seeing Paul weller live what a brilliant year thanks to my wife Julie ❤ and thanks Paul weller for such a fantastic gig so fcking brilliant this life with his music. Long live mr weller and I'm still happily married.
Was a big fan of The Jam & followed Weller thru Style Council & his solo career. He is a chameleon of a musician. Always appreciated that in him. Changing things up has benefitted him.
Another masterpiece from the god who is Paul Weller. Gutted again at not getting tickets for my local venue The Engine Shed in Lincoln. Dickheads want to resell tickets for nearly £150. If I had it I would do it. Followed him since 1977 to present for the "REAL" fans I hope you have a brilliant night.
YOU people are my tribe!!!! long live to those who listen good music!!!!!! Modfather This is my favourite Paul Weller song, it's put together really well.
Imagine coming back as a Solo artist and reminding people how fucking amazing Weller is a song writer. His voice got better with age also. I mean i am obsessed with The Jam but Pauls work resonated with me more.
Everyone says about our best bands ,singers that it's a shame there not as well known in the USA and rest of world ...well I say oour best music is like the crown jewels..unlike anything anyone else has got. And best kept in England..SAFE IN ENGLAND
Always been a big fave of mine via the modfather. seen him live 4 times,to hear it live is even better. amazing lyrics, melody,he did write it about his ex wife.there relationship &divorce. so makes it that even more special

A brillliant track from surely one the best albums of the 90s !
beautifal beyond....
Had to go the copyright to play, The Jam at my brother's funeral & it was the track wasteland 🇬🇧✌️
Brilliant song. Timeless. Vocals and guitar / drums so fantastic. I keep coming back to it.
Bliss tune. Relevent to my big bro so much.😅
Never fails to blow my mind and turn my insides to mush.
Loved this song when it came out and used to be played loads on Virgin 1215.
Proper tune❤
So good it could have easily been recorded in the `70s. Sounds great every time I hear it.
What was he here, 34 years of age? This fella is unstoppable. It's 2015 and he still records great tunes. Biggest musical influence of my lifetime.
Class on every level
Fiona Brown so true!

I saw that, stopped me in my tracks.
"Got his mojo back" Yes, mate...In spades...
You must have missed his first solo album...every bit as good as Wildwood.
@@AnthonyMonaghan his self - titled first solo album is, for me at least, his best album.

My dad loves Paul Weller and so do I!
Steve White's drumming around 3 minutes in is sublime.
I think our of everything Weller has done this is my favourite . Sublime.

Que viejo...?
Paul es atemporal, como todos los dioses
Yeah totally. Jarvis Cocker was 30 at the time and he supposedly was of the generation that was going to bury Weller.
There is music...and there is Paul Weller. Music goes to his concerts.
What an absolute gem this is
Really good Song ❤

As some previous comments mention, this really was his absolute
golden period. Stanley Road one of my all time favourite albums.
