I don't know if you're doing it, but when I did mine I removed all the rubber bungs in the front and rear floor and welded them up.

There's not much point in having them, they're only good for draining water out of the car. You said you're going to weld up the windscreen wiper holes on the scuttle. I'll send you some pictures what I did later on today.
