man , they are some monsterous waves for the east coast of aussie !!!! , i live in newcastle and the biggest i was back in 2007 when the pasha bulker got stranded at my local beach and even then the waves were about 15 - 18 ft but mega unsurfable , these waves however , are clean and ridable , boy huey did turn it on for you boys that day ! - i guess some of us strike it lucky :) , peace
1. Mute the volume on this vid. 2. Open new browser window, search YT for Pink Floyd's "A Pillow of Winds" (from the Meddle album). 3. Start the song and this surf video simultaneously. 4. Sit back, relax. Enjoy the trip. ;o)
Ive seen and surfed ( well paddled for the back, shitting bricks would be more apt) in waves that were this size at Currumbin rocks on the gold coast during a passing cyclone in 1978. on the close-out sets waves were breaking right across the river mouth , about a km out. a 25 jet boat ( racing boat) tried to get out thru there and was flipped over tip to toegoing up the face, right in front of us. surprisingly it washed south not north and was eventually pulled out at Tweed river. truly epic
Can someone tell where to get the back ground music? I checked already their website but it doesn't exist. Great video and great music. I am a surfer myself never done tow surfing it is good to know people watching you gets a kick out of it.
yeah bloody big one i got it on film myself, as for the other guys nothing like the hell bickie ride but still a few good ones. I filmed all the waves of both standups and bickies...the surfers got the best rides by a mile...paul morgan mostly though and phil mac got the biggest wave of the day...
exactly ay - i surf and bodyboard, and enjoy both of them for different reasons. both are awesome fun and i dont see why surfers and bodyboarders are alyways fighting eachother.
sweat waves lad's. not sure if this is the vid but i no there were massive waves just south of the nsw border but im not gunna say which island......... is it the same place?
"yeh it was the biggest waves ive seen and there were some huge waves comin through the biggest waves ive seen in Oz some of the craziest waves ive seen definitely the biggest waves ive towed into... and it was definitely one of the biggest swells ive seen since i was a kid"... I think we established that the first time...
the body boarder at 1:50 has bigger balls than all these surfers coming in on a tow. but don't get me wrong i don't have the skill or balls to do this myself but that dude is freaking crazy!!!!
most people hold there breath :) worst thing would be wiping out coming up and seeing the next wave about to hit you. one breath then under again, then again and again
bodyboarders were paddling in all day they paddled into waves bigger than some of the ones towed in on that video. the only bodyboarder who was getting towed in was the guy who was on that bomb. he rips every session out there. tyge richardson. type in south coast bombie session.
I have looked up the band and can not fined f~~k all on them about them I want this album now as for the vid pretty cool. can anyone help with the band website
yeh u pray at the same time as u swim underwater. im a boog and if u see one u just paddle as fast as u can towards something big and hope u get under before it crashes. but the thing is if u dont get under it u get the biggest hiding because 1 you're out of breath from trying so hard and 2 the wave scoops u up, sucks you over and ragdolls u for aaaaaaaages
does paul morgan get tipped off by some bodyboarder cos he always seems to be towing in where theres a session heeps of bodyboarders hear about or sumthing like at this secret here, another secret near sydney last year and at ron dogs secret in WA to name a few
These are the most dangerous types of waves- worse than Hawaii- see how thick the wall is, and the expenditure of energy when the waves break.............never do this alone!

It is increadible that waves can be that big, what was the power of the storm that day?
I come from Byron, but they dont say where in Byron this is, The Pass, Main Beach. I body surfed 10 footers when younger at Main.
Who does the music? Oh and ya some serious waves going on.
@srfrr I would get a good laugh watching you trying to scratch your way into some of these waves
NICE TUBE AT 4:40 MATE!
AWESOME!
when was this
and which reef near byron
im from goldy and biggest ive seen here is storm swell at 15ft max
this reminds me of jaws on a small day
"yeh it was the biggest waves ive seen and there were some huge waves comin through the biggest waves ive seen in Oz some of the craziest waves ive seen definitely the biggest waves ive towed into... and it was definitely one of the biggest swells ive seen since i was a kid"... I think we established that the first time...
sometimes we gotta make the surfers look good, but i have much respect to those guys
ahh you could be in a bit of trouble or sometimes you just get a mild beating, all worth it for the thrill
wow, waves are for sure 10 meters or more! how deep is the water there?
the body boarder at 1:50 has bigger balls than all these surfers coming in on a tow. but don't get me wrong i don't have the skill or balls to do this myself but that dude is freaking crazy!!!!
most people hold there breath :) worst thing would be wiping out coming up and seeing the next wave about to hit you. one breath then under again, then again and again

bodyboarders were paddling in all day they paddled into waves bigger than some of the ones towed in on that video. the only bodyboarder who was getting towed in was the guy who was on that bomb. he rips every session out there. tyge richardson. type in south coast bombie session.
Dang. I wonder what it feels like to get hit by one of them! Ive been on only half that size! Lucky!
I was thinkin the same thing! haha
Would have given it a better Rating (now 3/5) if photo quality were better. But good video.
@ganey71 which one was srfrr in the video?

I have looked up the band and can not fined f~~k all on them about them I want this album now as for the vid pretty cool. can anyone help with the band website

IS THAT THE BREAK NEAR BAWLEY

that would hurt!! wow!
@ManOfWealthnTaste Yeah, but for the east coast, that's really unusual. this is an everyday thing in hawaii.

Where was it Ganey? Wedding cake island perhaps.
holy hell huge wavezzzzzz

Kind of like an average day at Jaws when surf is up.
When it walls up a few of them almost look like teahupoo
Did you guys notice the people that were broght in those waves?
Queenscliff Bombie??
That was on my birthday
Bodyboarders paddle in while surfers need to be towed... And yes, the biggest on the entire session was by a bodyboarder... they own it!
how many times does the guy at the beginning want to say "definitely the biggest waves ive ever seen.."
the biggest waves? more like the biggest wave! they only showed 1 wave but it is pretty gigantic
@tryithere
LOL... good one!! that's crazy... LOL
does paul morgan get tipped off by some bodyboarder cos he always seems to be towing in where theres a session heeps of bodyboarders hear about or sumthing like at this secret here, another secret near sydney last year and at ron dogs secret in WA to name a few

These are the most dangerous types of waves- worse than Hawaii- see how thick the wall is, and the expenditure of energy when the waves break.............never do this alone!
