Someone, anywhere, show me a funnier piece of work than this..... any language ....any country .... anywhere in the world ....anytime ....any era .....anything.
@ right. We are into the 3rd decade of the 21st century and probably half the population around now have never had a DVD player in their lives as no one except the elderly really buy them. How about they sell them digitally as a download like the rest of the world has moved to.
"Frontbottom's a wanker" . ... anytime that I'm one day called upon to do CPR I'm not going to. I am gonna just reenact the "Frontbottom's a wanker" scene from this movie and I'm pretty sure it will bring them back from the dead.
Why is this not down again on TV instead of the drivel we get on our National broadcaster today. Trying too hard to touch every body and include everyone and end up pleasing no one.
The DVD is being promoted quite heavily by the ABC, I have seen it in Brisbane...I have uploaded two clips they have sent out to RUclips, both pretty funny.
Pity we are now well into the 21st century; DVD’s have all but ceased to exist for all but the diehards and the ABC is as backward as ever and not yet released it digitally as of 2022.
Couldn’t make it today the way the ABC is today without injecting a huge amount of box ticking of strong woman, dumb men and a discussion about dispossession of land by the gold miners of the natives. It would be horrible. It would be a lecture - not entertainment.
It was all on RUclips as a continuous skit a few years ago, it used to come straight up when I searched, now nothing bar this bit: someone probably had a whinge about the usual crap so it got removed.
@@id10tcertified I've been lucky enough to get the DVD of this and Bargearse. Absolute hoot! We hardly stopped laughing all through. "You there! Propel yourself across the room for no apparent reason." Comic genius.
@@id10tcertified probably the same people that pulled it, The copy right holders, won’t release it digitally thereby ensuring it value diminishes even more. Never understand that.
AndyRob. Yup. I’d hazard a guess that very few if anyone at all would have any interest in the original yet the comedy genius and talent involved in the latter is iconic Aussie, it’s a total shame that only a few will ever know about it now.
This & bargearse were the best pisstakes on tv.
to this day I still use the phrase “pull up a crappy prop” anytime I ask someone to sit down

I sometimes propose Stupid Hat Day at my workplace.
Let’s hear Frontbottom’s rendition of South Pacific
oooh that Rolf Harris gag hasn't aged well.
Came here to say this but knew it would be said already.
Mud boys mud, we'll give our flesh and blood....That and the large "Coffee machine"
one day I will perfect these platform shoes!!
Bring back stupid hat day. We need it!!!!!
I find myself saying "well that subplot's come to a bit of a dead end" quite often when something finishes quickly
Hahaha, Mum and Dad brought this for me for Christmas when I was about 10. ; )
where has the olden days gone. ever episode use to be on RUclips in a big playlist.. and now it appears to be gone :/
I think due to copyright. There used to be whole episodes of the late show series 1 and 2. Lucky i copied them.
Buy the DVD.

I reckon this was better than Bargearse.
I haven't seen this in years!!!! So many memories....
Where can I find the whole thing?
i always do the "this man says hes an automatic teller machine" line... not many people get it
Same
Same
probably because, as a gag, it's not that good
"You'll never wedgie me!"

The original Rush was one of the best things on Australian TV. Bring it back ABC.!!!!
Yes. The ABC did produce good historic dramas. Another was an adaptation of Seven Little Australians.

Right. Here's to Pissiona.
As good as Bargearse. Enough said. Just wish the whole thing was available.

They released a compilation DVD of both The Olden Days and Bargearse a few years after The Late Show ended. You might be able to find it around.
Please, please, please come back D Gen... your country needs you!
A championship show. Pity not in iTunes. Used to have it on dvd. But you know the ABC; behind the times like normal.
