Come on Working Dog. Start the pushy phone calls to the ABC, telling them this show has to be replayed, every episode. Bloody hell, if teenage me in the 80s can sit through every repeat of The Goodies and The Kenny Everett Show, then I must be allowed a repeat of The Late show.
@@floydster23 Heck, yes. Remember when the media were worried about subliminal messages in rock music creating suicidal thoughts? The Doug Anthony Allstars responded on The Big Gig with a song called "Kill Yourself". Complete with a live performance than included samurai swords and oodles of fake intestines spilling all over the stage.
I lived in W.A 1992-1995 and we watched the Late Show religiously. Loved it then, love it now. Brings back many wonderful memories but most of all, the piss-taking is supreme.
You can hear her constantly, she has an annoying laugh in both Have You Been Paying Attention and The Cheap Seats. Working Dog have more or less single handedly held up Australian comedy for that 30 years though, them and Shaun Micallef, everyone else has been shit.
It was hysterical then and its bloody funny now, Tony Barber OAM, 82 and going strong. Ex Royal Australian Navy, onya mate. You will never be forgotten.
This was so good!! Upload all the best bits of the Late Show for all of us tragics. Was such a great show. Takes me back to my youth. Thanks for the upload.✌
This takes me back to the early 90s when I wasn't even a teenager when they had this show. I remember the old sale set with the colourful front panels that lit up when contestants buzzed and I remember the retail chain Chandler's too which is long gone now.
I miss D-gen's Late Show... those were the good ol' days... waiting for 9.40-50pm (I think) to roll around on Saturday night on channel 2 - even if you were at a party
Timeless! The D-Gen stuff still rocks! Could someone PLEASEpost the sketch where religious freaks are holding a meeting about pornographic magazines, and Rob Sitch who is chairing the meeting goes to open a magazine and it’s glued shut!
"Brilliant! Brilliant!" Surely enough time has passed by to allow tragics like me to enjoy every episode from the two seasons of The Late Show, without there being any IP or related issues (Commercial Crimestoppers?) that would have been a thing back then 😋
So Late Show was on ABC (hence the van they "borrowed") and Sale of the Century was on 9 ... So why was Barber wearing a Channel 10 cap?! A part of the gag but I can't remember why
All these years later wishing I had watched The Late Show and not realising that today we still have the same characters on our TVs, but I thought the ABC back in those days was only watched by the elderly or the politically minded.
"Fat load of good you were Barber". LOL. Never gets old.
That's such a Mick Molloy line 😄
You might be cool but you'll never be as cool as Tony Barber cracking a VB can in the back of a van 🤣
😂😂😂
CHECK! 👍
Oy, not the dart!🤣
How chuffed was he to get the board game ?🤣
Check.

I'm SO GLAD I have my VHS taped copies!!!
What about its predecessor that started it all, The D Generation!
Or at the very least put it on its streaming channel.
still one of the best skit writing in Australia TV history....
Aww this cut out the 'ugly duckling' chant at Jane at the start. Best bit!
I lived in W.A 1992-1995 and we watched the Late Show religiously. Loved it then, love it now. Brings back many wonderful memories but most of all, the piss-taking is supreme.
4:46 "fat lot of good you were Barber" 🤣
This is what I came here for
Poor Tony.
"Absolutely pathetic effort that was you guys" They all got scolded! it wasn't just Barber.
And Working Dog are still bringing us top notch content 30 years later. It would be nice to see Jane on TV again though
You can hear her constantly, she has an annoying laugh in both Have You Been Paying Attention and The Cheap Seats. Working Dog have more or less single handedly held up Australian comedy for that 30 years though, them and Shaun Micallef, everyone else has been shit.
Why don’t we have champagne comedy on tv anymore.
That was gold. So funny!!
I love how chuffed Tony Barber is at getting the Glenn Ridge version of the board game.
Bloody brilliant! I remember watching this when it aired. Just as funny today.
Single best sketch. Champagne comedy!
It was hysterical then and its bloody funny now, Tony Barber OAM, 82 and going strong.
Ex Royal Australian Navy, onya mate. You will never be forgotten.
I loved the way they incorporated Pete Smith. A totally under rated nine personality.
"Old King Cole was a--"
*SILLY OLD FART!!*
Absolute gold!!
The Late Show was the pinnacle of Australian comedy. And the Pinnacle of that was 'Shitscared'
I'll see you a "Shitscared" and raise you a "Barge Arse"
👍😂- my favourite of that was when Rob went to bungee jump, and Mick said after Rob ‘jumped’- “you mean you wanted it tied at this end, too”.
This was so good!! Upload all the best bits of the Late Show for all of us tragics. Was such a great show. Takes me back to my youth. Thanks for the upload.✌
It sure was!!
4:39 Jane goes full Brooke Vandenberg
How good was that! Funny as and real comedy. We could with this quality stuff back on our screens. Awesome work guys.
The Pappadams part still gets me hahaha
Now that was clever.... and Tony Barber in the back of the van.... freakin the best.
Tony Barber was adorable - what a good sport.
If only they'd made more Bargearse episodes.
Cheers for somebody putting this back on YT 👍

Nostalgia Central...
I totally remember this skit...
Man that showing my age 😭
Steve Silvagni managed to get Jo Bailey's phone number, after Mick wasn't able to!
Classic Late Show. Love it.
Barber, you legend. I hope he got the big money for this.

I remember that one.it was John Harrison holding it and he says "as a member of the festival of light I believe this filth must stop"😂😂
One of the best illustrations of the hypocrisy of religion I’ve ever seen to this day! I’d love to see it again if it still exists.
If John Harrison was in it, it would have been the '80s D Generation on ABC. There were two series, the second one much better than the first.
I think it was 1989 when Fred Nile wanted to do a counter march at the same time as the gay Mardi Gras.
@@FillH2os In the name of thinking about the children? Well that's where the problem starts.
The late show was the funniest show ever I remember laughing for the entire show as a kid. Great memories. I always wanted to get into comedy.
Please - release more champagne comedy like this!
Loved The D-Gen and their antics on The Late Show. 😂
What a walk down memory lane! Two great old shows in one! 🤣
It's August 2022 and I'm laughing my backside off!!! How many years after this originally aired???
Must be close to 40
30 years ago. 1992.
@@Johnny6666 Close enough, 30 40 it all a blur mate.
August 2024 and it's still awesome!
How squeaky was Molloy's voice back then compared with the vocal fry he's got today.

Back when there was actually something good to watch on free to air television...
My favourite clip of all time.
Gold. Great stuff.
Yep, champagne comedy!😂
That was cool.I remember The Late Show !!! 😄
I gave up night clubbing to watch your show 👌
Brooke Vandenberg - she can conduct my interview any time ...
It looks like Jane needs a hug!
Remember this episode..Tony Barber check lol
Tony was always a good sport back in day. Almost should have had his own sketch show.
Thanks for the upload champ... great comedy from a great time.
Brilliant!
Just great.
"Brilliant! Brilliant!" Surely enough time has passed by to allow tragics like me to enjoy every episode from the two seasons of The Late Show, without there being any IP or related issues (Commercial Crimestoppers?) that would have been a thing back then 😋
Mick's voice has changed a lot.
Surprised to see Tony Barber here given how hard of a time Hamish and Andy had trying to get a hold of him. He's still the only nemesis of the show.
Jane is off the charts in the cute and funny departments.
Pappadums!
Jo Bailey the real star here
All we are saying... is give Jo a chance!
So Late Show was on ABC (hence the van they "borrowed") and Sale of the Century was on 9 ... So why was Barber wearing a Channel 10 cap?! A part of the gag but I can't remember why
He was hosting the local version of Jeopardy on Ten at the time.
Absolute classic. Love ya work.
Ahhh memories!! 😂😂
Brilliant.
Gold.
All these years later wishing I had watched The Late Show and not realising that today we still have the same characters on our TVs, but I thought the ABC back in those days was only watched by the elderly or the politically minded.
Back then the ABC was fairly good, it had something for everyone. But as you said, these days it's mostly for the politically minded. 😧
Tony Barber kills in this skit.
Brilliant 😂😂
Like all great comedy, as funny today as the day it was made. A type of comedy that would never get a run on the ABC of 2024.
Come up Trumps'? Tonights the night Melania 😂
Tony Barber..love him..😊
Brilliant, ah good times! Don’t even bother with tv anymore, it’s all so beige and tame.
She’s not such an ugly duckling!! You cut the best part out ..
Quack quack
@@ben.reynolds GET OUT!
Muckrakers! And then, they killed Bouncer!
Remember when Barber went to CH 10😂😂
Cool, they had a Ford Bronco.
Champagne comedy!
There so young
Missing the Ugly Duckling song 😂
When was this show created? You should seriously bring it back!
1992-93
woke rules the airwaves now, not gonna happen
@ Lupi33. Reactionary nobb.
I wonder what happened to the old ABC Bronco. It'd be worth a fortune now.
She goes right off.
Too good. 100
Champagne Comedy!
What happened to "she's not such an ugly duckling... 🎶"?
It probably got a copyright strike from RUclips... the writers of the "Ugly Duckling" song need their ad revenue y'know lol
Bring back Jo!
Huge Aubrey Plaza energy in this clip..
classic!!!
Champagne!
Champagne SKETCH comedy.
Tony Barber - check ✔️
Champagne comedy
Couldn't do comedy like this now in 2023, Woke Twitter mob would have it cancelled.
lol rightio
Mmmm… Brooke Vandenberg there
So funny!
ABC used to do great Comedy, Entertainment, Drama, Arts and Current Affairs.
Then came the Howard and Abbott govts 😩
By which you mean that the ABC ignored their charter and devoted 100% of their efforts to attacking conservatives ? Yep, I agree.
This comedy was gold what happened
Forgotten how hot Jane Kennedy was
Oh gosh I have a crush on her .
The late show was hilarious.
Gee, Mick looks thin here.
I thought that was Tony Martin. Speaking of Tony, what happened to him? Did Mick eat him?
@@arconeagain he is on Nova once a week i think.
@@arconeagain Tony does podcasts these days. "Sizzletown" is a top listen if you like real theatre of the mind stuff.
@@arconeagain Recently did the Logies too.
@@SuperRoo_22 I was making a joke. I think Tony and Mick had a split a while back. Their last movie together was years ago.
Alyce Platt..... corrrrrrr!!
When the ABC produced actual comedy.
