Patricia Louise Holt, known professionally as Patti LaBelle, is an American R&B singer and actress. She has been referred to as the "Godmother of Soul". She began her career in the early 1960s as lead singer and frontwoman of the vocal group Patti LaBelle and the Bluebelles. She has an amazing vocal range that few others can match. Her Live performances are always a spectacular show....... Michael H. McDonald is an American singer, keyboardist and songwriter known for his distinctive, soulful voice and as a member of Steely Dan, and the Doobie Brothers.
This one brings back memories. What a great break up song. Patti was all over the 80's. Michael McDonald OWNED the 80's. He had several top 10 hits, and sang on many , many others. Of course, this was AFTER his career with the DOOBIE BROTHERS.
What a Fool Believes is probably his most popular solo song. Minute by Minute and I Keep Forgettin' being two more.
HIGH BUG.... I knew this tune would be a nice inclusion to JM's Playlist, and mine.
Their voices are iconic on their own, but together they are magic.

Don't forget you've sampled the talents of Michael McDonald when you listened previously reviewed the Doobie Brothers. Blue eyed soul at it's best. Another great solo song of his is "I Keep Forgettin." Next you definitely need to check out Bobby Caldwell singing "What You Won't Do for Love."

MM is the lead singer in the Doobie brothers. He left later and went solo. These are two great singers.
MM joined the brothers many years after they started and he did just a few vocal leads for the Doobies.. Most of the lead vocals were done by founding members Tom Johnston (guitars, keyboards, harmonica, vocals) and Patrick Simmons (guitars, banjo, recorder, vocals)

Going down memory lane with this one. Two of the most iconic voices of that generation made this song shine. Patti also sang "If only you knew" and I came across a new voice singing it beautifully. Gabriel Henrique of Brazil, covers the divas and a few divos (Michael Jackson and Bruno).
