      Hey. I bought that thing to look around in a game. So i only sit in one place without the controllers. Do i need to set up those 2 sensors or can the Headset live without them when im not moving exept my head. And if i need them, do i set them up in the direction im facing or one to the left and one to the right. And a last question, does it track good when im looking up? Because i may have to do that a lot and i dont want it to loose track Everytime i look straight up.

    • @SNW4Real
      @SNW4Real  9 месяцев назад +1

      Hey man! Yes you have to setup the sensors or you will not have proper tracking and it will not be a good experience without setting them up 😅😂. For the sensor placement what works best for me personally is having both sensors facing me & the headset while I play either sitting or standing. So what I would recommend (option 1) is to either place one sensor on each side of you (one on the left & one on the right atleast 2-3 ft away from you while having a distance of atleast 6ft between both sensors) or, option 2, would be to have both sensors in front of & facing you while being seated (once again with atleast 6 ft of space between them & having them positioned atleast 2-3ft away from you) and then turning the sensors at an angle (about 45°) so you will be within tracking distance at all times! Basically the sensors work like a light and you want the majority of the light to shine on you at all times while you are using your cv1! Another thing I would recommend is to setup up your sensors via the oculus software & it will show you a diagram of where the sensors are projecting their signal & then you will have a pretty good idea of where to go from there! Hope this helps 🙏🏼🔥

    Funnily enough the cv1 is still arguably the best VR headset. People will say the valve index is until it breaks after a year of use. Lol.

    • @disrupt_-4054
      @disrupt_-4054 2 года назад

      I'd say the index is still definitely better, mainly bc of the resolution. The cv1 is only really good for echo because of the resolution.

    • @KaiFulci
      @KaiFulci 2 года назад

      Spend your money how you want fam. I for one have tried the quest which has a much higher res display than cv1 and I gotta say the resolution just doesn't make a massive difference to me. Results will vary though.

      @@KaiFulci Really? Idk how you it doesn't make a difference to you, the jump from cv1 to q2 is amazing, the resolution is waaaay higher. Also the cv1's tracking isn't the best for external tracking standards

    • @KaiFulci
      @KaiFulci 2 года назад

      The outside tracking is actually really good. I have four trackers and it's superior to any inside out tracking. I'm just accustomed to the resolution. I was never sensitive to SDE either. It's cool the quest has a higher resolution but if we are comparing the quest to a cv1 for PC use the quest is worse in almost every way except resolution. The index of course being the best until it breaks and it will. Thousands of RMA requests don't lie. The CV1 is still the hardiest and best all around value for your money PCVR HMD even now. The rift s... We don't need to talk about th rift s. Lol.

    • @disrupt_-4054
      @disrupt_-4054 2 года назад

      @@KaiFulci you can use four trackers? I gotta get another one, I got one for echo and I want the best tracking possible (the one I got had three trackers). Also yes very very good value, but not accounting for price, it's not the best. The best (despite the price) is the varjio headset thingy if you get knuckles with it. That is the best possible experience available, tho very expensive and you need a very beefy PC for it.

      Hey man! It really depends on the game itself but on most fps (for example I personally tried" the walking dead: saints & sinners") the whole body will move when you turn your head &/or arms especially during combat! It is really different & way more immersive compared to "standard pc gameplay" you have to try it! 🙏🏼🔥

      Hey man 👋🏼 yeah I totally agree!! My next VR will definitely be the valve index or maybe the 2nd gen model by the time I get around to buying one 😂. The quest models have wireless features & all of that stuff but I prefer the "old-school" wired CV1 personally due to less issues also I am not limited on space, as many games as I can fit on one of my hard drives is the limit & you can also buy a bigger one!! I do not believe it is mandatory for all usb ports to be "3.0" but you may face problems while running the software setup to configure the headset when you first install the oculus software, which is required, but you may be able to skip the setup to prevent these issues! The Cv1 would definitley work better because it is wired so you have less latency issues, I believe better resolution, & overall the headset is actually really comfortable & easy to use!! The oculus quest may be a good headset as well but because it is fully wireless, I have heard a few people complain about issues about such as being "disconnected, lag, etc." while playing games but I am not entirely sure about any of that stuff because I personally have never tried a quest lol. • @SNW4Real
      @SNW4Real  Год назад

      Hey man! This is a tough question to answer but I think it mainly comes down to personal preference! With the CV1 you virtually have no limit on space for games because you are using your computer's harddrive (external drives work too!) versus "built-in memory" with the quest. The quest 2 & CV1 both have specific exclusives so depending on the type of games you want to play, that may influence your decision but once again it comes down to personal preference. If your pc meets all of the minimum requirements to run everything smoothly I would give it a shot! The resolution, graphics, performance, & experiences are great & I would highly recommned it! Also since you are running a "wired" headset versus "wireless," you may experience better tracking but do make sure you have the physical space to run the headset, make sure the wires are in good shape with the unit you decide to purchase in addition to the lenses! Hope this helps 🙏🏼🔥

If the game is still blurry, try cleaning & wiping the lens with some rubbing alcohol & a microfiber cloth & this should definitely help if the lens are dirty!! Probably not the best idea to split the HDMI as it will only then mirror your HMD or reverse and you might start it up and see the light that shows "On" but it will just be a black screen.
      Check your ports and hopefully you have perhaps a DVport you could get a HDMI to DV adapter and your monitor should work. IF not, its better to just unplug the monitor when you are using the HMD but my thinking is with only one port coming out of your GPU you might need to recheck the recommended specs before picking up a PCVR because they do indeed require a somewhat stronger rig.

      @@SNW4Real yeah, honestly, the start of your video started so well, i thought to myself, this is the only video i will probably need to watch. But what happened instead was you just being very excited about the product. IN short, i would say do a quick montage of you plugging in the units, including the headset. Placing sensors. Showing what to expect when setting the hardware up, such as the software to use, where to get it, showing a few clips of the on screen instructions. Maybe even idiot proofing a bit, with that not to do, because you know.. there is always that one person. Even if you skip steps, the viewers would fill the gaps at this point. And then a brief overview of the interface that first time users are going to be greeted with, maybe a few app recommendations, that sort of thing.
      I mean, again, i seriously loved the energy. Even when i saw there was only 30 seconds left of the video, i was still thinking, ok he's going to do it now.

      Hey again man 👋🏼 yeah your right the setup phase could definitely be improved & I should have included footage of me doing the basics like you said with placing sensors, plugging in usbs, talking more about the software, etc. I apologize for not adding those things in, it was not intentional to have that specific footage left out I was just trying to get it out asap!! I will make a seperate video as soon as I can with more details & setup info, tips on sensor placement, & a few other things that might be useful!! I really appreciate all of the tips & advice, I always love to hear from viewers especially when it involves anything that can improve the viewer experience & the videos as well, I am super grateful for your input & I will try to get that video out soon thanks again man 🙏🏼🔥

      @@SNW4Real On the other side, since it's such an old device now - personally I felt that watching B-Roll of connecting USBs in would of made it any better since it's basically a niche item now.
      What I would suggest for future content tweaks would (Using this vid as the example) be more like - issues with the device people have these days - like having a third sensor in the back, but not having the software register it as a USB 3 connection or that you might have to purchase a PCI USB card but only certain ones work.
      Or downloading the software if you forget to apply the small linked patch underneath it - it won't start the runtime.
      I would totally be trying to troubleshoot in 2022 as it's not as clean as it used to be for sure.
      Also - once you get comfortable with it - using the tray tool to tweak it and if you have steamVR - how to get them both to be friends.
      Anyway, its still good to see the CV1 still being used, but take care of that cable for sure as well as the earphone on the right side - the audio line to the front is embedded in the strap - if you are pulling/pushing it on all the time it will most likely break.
      Good luck and keep the OG alive!
