- Easyjet trip report onboard an Airbus A320 from Bordeaux to Barcelona on a hot summer stormy afternoon.
The experience with EASYJET was PERFECT. The problem was with Bordeaux airport itself. It was the most disgusting terminal that I have ever visited: the Billi Terminal. What a shame place. Just check the video and you will understand why. I will avoid it at any cost in the future.

Well, never thought that an airport terminal in a big European city can treat the passengers like that!! That's not human!
I don't know if this is the normal thing at the Billi terminal, but for what I spoke with other passengers, it's the usual behaviour. I won't be travelling from there ever again, that's for sure.

It is not a big European city. This terminal is under works, this is why there is a lot of people. This is not the fault of the airport if everybody is pushing.
OnBoardHD I went in 2018 and it was a shit show, the immigration line was terrible and nearly missed our flight back to Manchester 😡
Pro tip: watch movies on kaldroStream. Me and my gf have been using them for watching a lot of movies during the lockdown.

Typical "Low-Cost terminal". The experience you got was exactly as intended.
These types of terminals are a new thing. These monstrosities have been built specifically for low cost carriers, following their specifications.
Minimum building size, minimum personnel, minimum comfort, passengers pressed like cattle.... exactly as designed to make the costs as low as possible.
You should definitely blame easyjet : they're the ones who choose this terminal.
And the trend isn't going to go away since most regional french airports are building dedicated "low costs" extensions or wings in this style specifically to attract these low cost carriers.
Well, I don't know about French airports. I almost don't fly to France. However, in my more than 800 flights, I've never seen such a horrible terminal. 😐
@@OnBoardHD It's quite usual in France to get this sort of "low cost" terminals as said before, they are build in order to attract the most of low cost airlines as possible because Air France and others airlines of this type are constrained to close those lines (french politics... pff) ahah
I passed through the Billi terminal on 15th February 2020, before I'd seen this video, and found it to be the worst terminal I've ever been to, by a long way. For a start, it looks like the building works have not yet been completed; the construction materials look to be the cheapest and flimsiest possible. The check-in area is very limited and although there are many check-in desks there is not much queuing space for passengers. Passing through security, the unavoidable duty free shop and into the gate zone, there were three flights waiting to be called. Although it was winter and very cold outside, the terminal was crowded, stiflingly hot and every seat in all areas were taken, with many elderly people having nowhere to sit. The first flight was called and a mass of people began to queue at their gate, only then was there enough space to sit down.
The next two flights were called more or less at the same time, one leaving the EU (my flight) and one short internal flight to Lyon. Passengers for both flights were made to queue through the same line causing a lot of crush and confusion, with the Lyon flight being directed through their own gate exit about half way along. The rest of us had to carry on until we went out through a passport control, up some stairs to a long divided corridor and wait for some time until we were let downstairs at the far end and out on to the tarmac to board the aircraft. I noticed that along this corridor, one half of which had been fenced off lengthways there were long nails sticking down through the corrugated metal ceiling all the way along. Because of the poor and cheap construction materials used, I started to wonder whether this corridor was really up to taking the weight of the 100 plus passengers and their hand baggage being forced to queue and wait along its entire length.
If low cost carriers are responsible for such a completely shoddy building such as the Billi Terminal, they should be ashamed of themselves and be called to account for any future incidents or injuries which may occur as a result of such stinginess and low quality. There is no rhyme or reason, since airlines like Easyjet fly to many different countries, and in many of the airports they may share the same terminals as major full-service carriers. I've flown with Easyjet almost since Stelios first began the airline and there is nothing wrong with their service or prices, but the Billi terminal is an insult to their customers. Halls A & B at Bordeaux are ok, making such a terrible contrast when you arrive at one of these two terminals, which I did, then having to transition across to such a terrible dump for a connection.

Hi Lucas.First time seeing things like these happening in an airport terminal like Blagnac.Totally unacceptable and inhuman.Sad things that they should never happen.I hope that this won't happen everyday/The flight looked like a turbulent one but the views on the approach were spectacular.Cheers my friend.
For me as well! I've never seen such a thing like this in my more than 700 flights! This was worst than anything!
As you may know, since you've been watching the channel for many years already, I always try to speak about the positive things of the aviation, trying to "hide" or at least minimize those worse aspects... but this was intolerable.

No, no, sir! I've been in Budapest airport many times that's completely false!
Budapest terminal doesn't have anything compared with this rubbish!
In Budapest, you board through the main terminal, and then you go, once the flight is ready to board, through covered aisles and the waiting place, though it's ugly, it's warm and closed. Nobody stops you from entering the terminal.

Una lástima cuando el pasaje es tratado así. Como dices, siempre hay alguien que puede pensar que es problema de las compañías que operan allí. Si quitan la información de la pantalla, sabes más por FlightRadar y otras aplicaciones que por ellos. Inaceptable! Bueno el servicio de bebidas, en el vuelo con turbulencias, dio tiempo a que llegase a tu fila 😄😄. La aproximación por esa ruta, y más viendo las imágenes que has grabado, siempre me traen a la memoria ( yo tenía 12años) el accidente de vuelo 1903 de DanAir 3 Julio 1970. En una noche sin visibilidad, chocó contra la montaña del Montseny por error de posición. Cambiando a mejor tema, las imágenes del vídeo, como siempre son fantásticas. Saludos desde Barcelona

I was in BOD 4 weeks ago and flew with FR from the Main Terminal to CGN.
Very modern but the Food options were also very poor after Security 😢
Billi Terminal...puuuh.....what a shame!
Never heard before that you've no entry before check-in has started...and this in the high summer season, what a crazy BOD staff🤮👎
Nevertheless EZY/EJU is a GREAT Airline with many flights from it's HUB BOD also in winter season and an "own" terminal is normally not a bad thing!

The Billi Terminal is the worst one I've seen in all my life. Just awful. Horrible. Terrible.
I was walking through the other terminals and they looked completely normal.
My own experience of flying in and out of French airports on low-coast airlines has not been very good, but Bordeaux is by far the worst. The Billi terminal is just awful. Compared with many other EU airports I've flown to and from, I find staff in French airports, generally speaking, to be rather lacking in good customer service skills.
I didn't fly to much to/from France, so I can't say too much, but this terminal was, by far, the worst one I've ever been. That's without any doubt.

Not yet! But definitely, it's on my waiting list of flights to make! :)
They probably keep the passengers outside as long as they can exactly because the terminal is already crowded as it is and would be unmanageable otherwise. Of course, that's no excuse. That's a sign of bad planning. A Third World country could perhaps have the excuse of lack of financial resources for improvement, but that's France. Unforgivable! I wonder how it is when it's winter and snowing!

What was up with Bourdeaux? My favorite airport in Europe is Copenhagen. It doesn’t look that inviting from the outside. However, once you have cleared security, You enter a shopping mall with lots of stores and restaurants. That is pretty awesome! Looked like a nice flight, though.
Please, don't compare CPH with the trash Billi Terminal of Bordeaux...

No sir. That's a really wrong mindset. I've made more than 800 flights and flew with all kind of airlines. You can get low-fares and good service. In fact, the bad part of this flight wasn't related, at all, wity Easyjet, but with the awful Billi Terminal of Bordeaux airport.
Abot those pax that were trying to close the lugage... of course I agree with you. There are aleways some of them think they can have all services at any price.

I have flown in and out of Merignac for twenty years - Bordeaux - Dublin. It is generally a good/ very good experience.

After watching I immediately had fun to book a flight after a 2 months break.
But I expect that this will be difficult in the near future here in Germany. Because the german government - like many, many people from the german population - is in an madness and hysterical status debate of the world cimate. And they wanted to substantially increase taxes on flights from here.
Generally taxes will be increased here or newer ones are on the way. Expensive living here. And there is more in the approach.

I really think that there are many other industries that contaminate a lot more than aviation. Without a doubt, if they increase taxes to aviation, all countries will start struggling when getting less tourists. Is not as simple as they imagine...

Why were the back stairs being taken by bus couldn't they just walk up the side stairs at the back of the jetty?
Because in some big airports in Spain it's forbidden for the passengers to walk through the apron.

What do you expect with a 23€ ticket……?? Take Air France and it will be better, you just got the service for the price you have paid for……I am from bordeaux and everybody here know that BILLY terminal (easy jet) is a fucking damn shit ……
I am not from Bordeaux and I didnt know that Billi terminal was so awfull. Anyway, thats not an excuse for that thing to exist..
You are absolutely right, but unfortunately, nowadays, when you got a cheap ticket, you must be ready to be disappointed sometimes... in a lot of business like rental car (everybody know the famous gold car policy lol...), hotel, restaurant....
I agree that an airport can ruin your feeling about a trip...
I am flying more than 100 times per year, and î’ve always said that your travel experience is made by the airports and ground transportation (rental car, taxi, uber, buses and metro).

Esa terminal es una verguenza! Lo peor es que la gente no se lleva sólo una mala imagen del aeropuerto, que a mi eso me trae sin cuidado, sino de las aerolíneas que no tienen ninguna culpa.
Lo que está claro es que mi no me vuelven a ver por esa terminal.

This Billi terminal is somehow horrible...was there A/C? The passengers wearing layers of clothes just not to pay extra cost ...they should try to fly lighter ...All filled with your phone, wow great work..
I flew from Bordeaux to Barcelona on Vueling back in Dec 2016. The baggage drop-in counters didn't open till about 50 mins before departure. But now that I see this...it could have been much worse!
This terminal was, without any doubt, the worst I've seen in all my trips.
I've seen almost every medium-big airport in Europe. Nothing was even close to this trash.

Poor show Bordeaux. What the hell - if it was raining what are the passengers meant to do? Get wet and catch pneumonia? You could sue to the airport due to their negligence if you caught something sure to being in the rain.
I don't know... It was very frustrating to see something like this in 2019...

Hi Lucas. How did they manage to keep the passengers for the flight you were on outside, while other passengers were inside. . What about the passengers for other flights ? And surely the terminal operators want the passengers inside spending money in the shops not outside. What if it was raining? Totally unacceptable. The over weight bags was crazy as well. Easyjet were having a great day there. That was a lot of passengers caught. And that looked like pretty bad pr for the airline. These easyjet and ryanairs are not low fare airlines . With all the extras they charge they work out just as dear as legacy carriers. Anyway you had a bumpy start through the terminal and what looked like a bumpy flight as well. I'd say when you saw the queue at the terminal you were sorry you didn't go by train 🙂 ? Great views ... Cheers, g..
It was just in this terminal, the rest of the airport was normal, like any other.
They were 3 people at the main entrance of the terminal calling for flights. It was ridiculous, but 100% real.
The bags thing is just another show of how people want to fly: without following the rules. All those ones are who later on will be complaining because the airline made them check the bag at the door and charged them an extra fee.
Hahaha About the train, no, I still prefer the plane, even in this conditions haha

Flew Easyjet Manchester to Amsterdam was very good crew was proffesional aircraft nice n clean plenty of leg room no delays I would certainly use them again

The problem here was the airport itself. The worst ever!
Lucas! I've got a question (again :P) for you! And before that, that Bordeaux terminal was terrible. Delete the flight from the screen due to delay instead of writing it out it is delayed. If somebody fly on that plane, and that flight was his/her first flight, I would been idk. Maybe could thought the flight is deleted. So, in overall: TERRIBLE. So the question: It's not to hard so see it, you always flying next to the window. A or F seat. So, what I can think about that is MAYBE you make only flight reports if you are sitting next to window, or you pay always for choosing seat for every flight? Or you have some tactic for it? :P Thank you for your answer!

Try Volotea next time out of Bordeaux, they operate from Hall A which is far better than Billi.

Primera vez que veo que un aeropuerto de un país europeo tiene tan mal trato hacia los pasajeros!!!! Seguro que eso no es sólo en Burdeos sino que en otros aeropuertos debe ocurrir lo mismo o hasta peor, y lamentablemente te tocó un vuelo donde no era el mejor momento sobretodo para esa zona de España donde hubo desastres por las constantes lluvias, esperemos que en tu próximo vuelo alga mejor todo.
Lo mismo digo. He visitado unos 100 aeropuerto en Europa y jamás había visto una cosa tan desastrosa. Lamentable. Penosa.
El tema no es los desastre naturales que puedan afectar a aeropuertos y demás (que en España todos los aeropuerto son 100 veces mejor que esta basura de terminal). Lo grabe es que esta terminal de Burdeos es así de serie, es decir, sin que nada le haya afectado. Lamentable.
Se escapa de las manos tanto de uno como de las aerolíneas el servicio e infraestructura que ofrezca un aeropuerto, lamentable. Y creo que todas las aerolíneas son muy claras con las reglas de peso de los equipajes de mano y bodega, y aun así la gente no quiere cumplir y se molesta y pasa lo que grabaste en video, abriendo maletas y bolsos...
La verdad es que el servicio en esta terminal Billi de Burdeos es más que lamentable. Vergonzoso. Penoso.
Respecto a la gente que no cumple las reglas con los equipajes, no te quepa la menor duda que serán los primeros en protestar cuando las aerolíneas les hagan bajar la maleta a bodega pagando una tarifa extra...

I have to say I flew from Bordeaux to London Gatwick last week and Billi terminal experience was ridiculous! It was humid, cramped and 4 members of staff at the airport pointed us in 4 different directions! We saw the “Billi” arrow on the floor but assumed it might be a Rent-A-Car company or a bus company rather than a whole different terminal! Sounds like a silly mistake but without proper signage it was quite tough 😢

All commenters agree that the Bordeaux terminal is to be avoided. For such a relatively short trip you'd be better off going by rail or car.

La terminal Billi de Burdeos (la que aparece en este vídeo) es, de largo, la peor terminal que he visto en todos mis viajes /y calculo haber visitado unos 100 aeropuertos, de todos los tipos y tamaños).
Ya he visitado Berlín Tegel, de hecho subí un par de de vídeos hace unos meses. No estaba mal. A qué aeropuerto de refieres?

@OnBoardHD - Flight Experience yeah, I also use Flightradar24 for that.
But what I meant is that they also have the website called “myFlightradar24”, which allows you to log your flights and keep them as a map and list and even giving you many different statistics in regards of your travel history. Mine looks like this: my.flightradar24.com/SXFflyer (I had far less flights than you tho). Would take ages tho to log over 700 flights now hahaha.

@@OnBoardHD Terminal 2 or MP2 is Marseille's low-cost airline terminal. Pretty crappy indeed with very long queues. And with Ryanair, when you pass the boarding gate, you are packed with all passengers of your plane in a small corridor waiting for the boarding to complete, then only you can take a shuttle to go to the plane... I highly recommend to consider paying the priority boarding fee in that hell of a terminal. Though, Marseille's main terminal is very nice as opposite to MP2.

Easy. Bordeaux has sustained a massive increase of its population due to an economical renewal in the region. So the airport will be expanded all the way till 2024 (it's even written outside of all terminals, but until then they have to set up and run a temporary terminal, terminal billy.

Hey man,another great video!! I understand you frustration with the low-cost terminal in Bordeaux but you flown Budapest and it's more or less the same..The terminal Ryanair and Wizzair is like a dump..And slightly better but more or less of similar style is SXF...So why so bothered by it? P.S. You gave me an idea of what to expect from the billi terminal next year when i fly there with FR

No, no! Budapest terminal doesn't have anything compared with this rubbish!
In Budapest, you board through the main terminal, and then you go, once the flight is ready to board, through covered aisles and the waiting place, though it's ugly, it's warm and closed. Nobody stops you from entering the terminal.
I've never been in Schoenefeld as a passenger so I can't make an opinion about it, but I would bet it's far better than this Billi Terminal in Bordeaux.

How long was the delay
It was around 2 hours due to really bad weather that morning in Barcelona.
The delay was completely understandable. The Billi terminal service was not.

Yo tuve un retraso en Stansted con Ryanair. Una hora después de la hora de salida prevista salió el avión, y no nos dieron explicaciones
Un retraso de 1h no es nada. Puede deberse a muchas causas. La aviación no es un transporte cualquiera. La seguridad es siempre el objetico basico. A veces hay que retrasar el vuelo para cumplir con dicho objetivo 👍

No, nunca he tenido ningún problema.
También es cierto que se qué cosas puedo y no puedo grabar. Del mismo modo, nunca he grabado (o al menos no voluntariamente) a ningún miembro de cuerpos de seguridad del aeropuerto, controles de seguridad... etc

Pues la verdad es que no recuerdo ningún episodio de ese tipo en Coruña.
Tan sólo una vez, volando con TAP desde Coruña, al embarcar e ir andando hacia el avión, me dijeron que no podía sacarle fotos al avión.

@@OnBoardHD al hilo de este comentario, el otro día llegué con mi familia a Santiago de Compostela, y cuando salimos del avión por la pista (Ryanair), le iba sacar una foto a mi hijo con el avión de fondo, y una chica que llevaba chaleco amarillo me dijo: caballero, aquí no se pueden sacar fotos, y miré y había un cartel dónde lo ponía al lado del ascensor por fuera. Sabes por qué? Curiosidad. Por cierto, me encantan tus vídeos, y a mi hijo de 5 años le flipan. Saludos.
