Not true. Any steam locomotive can be converted to burn oil, and from there the railroad can burn a recycled oil or oil diesel mix that is extremely low emission or even propane would work. So no matter what happens steam locos arnt going to go away simply because of that
@@Ndoggy1127 not all locomotives can be converted and run properly unless you change tube plates to chamge tube size. A very expensive endeavor and zero emissions is zero emissions. Thats their goal. They wont want oil or gas either. This wont stop until matches are illegal......
@@steamgent4592 are you a steam engineer? Well I am, so I think I know what I’m talking about. Love it when railfans think they know more than the engineer with a degree in the field. look up the environmental benefits of biodiesel fuel. I am 99.9% sure that bio diesel would not be banned in any state for reasons of environmental effects. Also the goal of the movement isn’t zero emissions it’s low emissions. Zero emissions would only be possible if the human race was eradicated. So I think you’re a little confused with many things.
@@Ndoggy1127 Ive worked on steam since 86 so almost 40 yrs. As for me once coal is outlawed it wont be the same. The smell of coal and steam oil with steam is the best smell in the world to me. Propane is the most sinking fuel ever used in a steam engine. Just visit a miniture railway where someone burns that stuff, absolutely disgusting smell, enough to make you gag and vomit in some cases.
@@steamgent4592 coal still could be an option. Peat or lignite coal are low emission. There are options out there it’s just more expensive. For places truly dedicated to steam preservation they should have no issue changing with the times as there’s low and high cost low carbon options. But we are not in that pace right now so it doesn’t matter.
That old steal whistle puts a lump in my throat every time!
Those steam locos were the bomb!
Damn that engineer has it down
Sure does!
Like that cap engineer is wearing. Like to have one. Cool video 😊
Terrifc video bro, such a lovely engine.
Thanks jack!
If someone offers you a chance to cab/footplate ride a steam locomotive jump at it.
Must of been a surprise but a fun ride in the end.
Sure was!
That's one leaky throttle valve
I love the railway, I also shoot on this topic🤟🤙😉
That's an old engine, what with the firebox between the frames. Probably had slide valves originally.
Enjoy it while you still can, once the Bastards have fully implemented the Paris accord this stuff will never be allowed to run.

🇧🇷 BRASIL, 13/06/2023. É uma volta no tempo. A diferenca é que hoje está usando rádio para se comunicar. A buzina é o charme.
What a rod did you see the firebox.
That leaky throttle tube doesn't look great.
Is this narrow gauge or standard gauge??
Standard
@@KurtisHooey Everett railroad too right?
@alternative890 this is a video of the Everett railroad. It is all standard gauge
@@KurtisHooey oh wow I knew it was the Everett Railroad just wanted to make sure.
