Kudos to you for not skipping a beat while doing much of this review during light showers. Overalll a great review. and while I own the model Y, I enjoy seeing other EVs and learning what features they have and how they compare to my Model Y performance.
It's good to see you had just as much fun as we did driving the Rally in the dirt & mud! 😄 For anyone that says EVs are no fun, they should try a Rally!
The section of the video where you got to take it out on the rally course is exactly what I was looking for/hoping to see. I'm so glad you got to experience it and man, does it look FUN! The big smile on your face says it all. I really hope to upgrade from my Select to the Rally someday and have the chance to take it on a similar course!
It should have been named the Mustang Mock Me and then we'd have truth in advertising. Apparently, that was the original plan but 3M sued to ovoid the potential confusion.
From a Mustang Bullitt owner, this vehicle its just pure marketing. This is not even close to a real Mustang. But looking it from another perspective, it is the coolest version so far.
Most Rally cars do not have super-wide tires. They don't need to extra weight. I like that the tires looks slightly more aggressive all-seasons. I'd love if they offered a knobbier tire for Dirt rallying.
It's now more tail happy due to the unique Rally Sport mode, rides higher, has bash plates, and has suspension tuned to the wheel/tire combo, which makes it a FAIR bit better than just an appearance package !!
Looks like an understeer machine saved only by throttle oversteer and 700lb ft of torque. Maybe its the tire choice of All-weather tires and the 5000lb curb weight. The Boneyard was probably slick with rain as well but still no brake induced rotation. Mach E Wilderness Edition.
@@cbotten106 Just saw VGJr video where he and Formeaux tossed this car around. And my impression of it is a bit better. It went from the handling looks awful and just throttle oversteer (just "drift mode" every corner) to okay, maybe it can rotate. But it looks like it requires a fair amount steering input and side to side weight transfer to get it to rotate. It doesnt appear to respond to front rear weight transfer. More agile than my initial impressions but I still wouldnt call it nimble. Kinda like a dancing elephant. Its still 5000lbs.
This isn’t a Mustang - it’s a lifted electric Fusion with a hatchback Nice looking and filled with awesome tech, but Ford should really stop referring to this as a Mustang….. it’s in every way thinkable absolutely not a Mustang…..
Watching the "rally" portion of the video, I think Hyundai was right in adding some fake noise on the Ioniq 5 N. The Mach E interior felt too quiet during those maneuvers. I would personally like the noise that the Alien Spaceship from Independence Day. "I have GOT to get me one of these!"
Doesn't like the yellow and white combo. Didn't you also hate on the Bronco & Bronco Sport Heritage editions in yellow/white? Yellow and white wheels and roofs go so well together.
I really like this new version of Mach E, it gives it more identity and separates from anything else in the market. Now if Ford would understand that the Mustang logo does not belong in the Mach E I think it would actually help it create its own identity. I hope to see it compete in Rallies!!!
Nice review, but you do need to mention which EVs you review have heat pumps and which don't, because the lack of a heat pump is a dealbreaker for winter range; which for the Mach E, is reduced by 30%. Real world buyers pay attention to that.
I don't see mine reduced by 30%. At least in upstate NY winters. I do see significant range reduction when I fail to pre-condition. That's definitely a problem. And if you aren't attached to a charger, it basically doesn't pre-condition.
Could've called it just a Mach-E or the Electrifocus. Otherwise it's a solid Electric successor to classic rally vehicles. If you don't think of it in terms of "Is it saving the environment?" and think of it as, "Is it a cool new toy?" then the enjoyment increases considerably.
Another heinously expensive EV to throw in the pile that dealers will mark up even more, and then people will wonder why it’s not selling more. Car pricing is broken with dealers able to do whatever they want
EV sales are wayyyy down mostly due to pricing. It’s only once you get into $70k+ vehicles that EVs start make sense because then the price difference vs. an equivalent ICE vehicle is essentially negligible. But for $25-45k ICE vehicles still reign supreme. Mostly due to the poor range of the EVs available at that price point.
Nah look at the bright side, at least with performance EVs they lose value so we can buy them used unlike every gas powered performance car these fucking days that gain value right off the lot for some goddamn reason
Looks like a portly, pricey knock-off of my 2022 Hyundai Kona N. Wonder if Ford will make this package available for more than the two years Hyundai offered the Kona N.
I’m really disappointed in Most legacy car makers they routinely insult the intelligent of the customers I like and want a rally but it’s really just a badge basically a Rally car for people who don’t know what a rally vehicle is.
If they sold this as a softer better riding slightly more capable "off road" version similar to Subaru Wilderness line up, it makes sense. And when people find out it might drive better than awful then its actually kind of cool. Exceeds expectations. But trying to market this with WRC and Rally...yeah, I think it misses the mark.
Another useless piece of shit that won’t sell lol.. Ford hit the mark with the maverick truck they should make an ev in that price range that is practical and it will sell like hotcakes
We live in a world where people commute in F150s, go to the grocery store in Range Rovers and drive their WRXs to high school. You're living in an automotive utopia if you think people who "need" this are going to be the only one's buying it. This will be a hit just like every other "limited" edition or "off road" version of a vehicle.
Model Y is cheapest, worst ride quality vehicle I've ever been in at that price point. Ford, Kia and Hyundai all have better EVs - Tesla has great motor controller and batt MGMT SW, but they are not best in class any longer. MY is also hilariously ugly.
Gas gets 400 miles + and a fill up takes less than 2 minutes. 10 hours to full charge or 36 min to charge from 10%-80% and only get 250 miles @ $64,000...so not worth it.
These wheels / tires are a joke! 255?!? The back tires should be at least 275, fronts maybe 265. Polestar 3 is 295 on the backs I’m Pretty sure. And fronts 265. Also yes, the ground clearance is really bad. To say this is the “rally” / lifted version. And you’re getting under 7” of ground clearance? That’s not good enough. Should be at least 8”. Poor packaging
The Mach E was not based on an ICE platform, it has absolutely nothing in common with the gasoline versions of the Mustang. It's a clean sheet EV design, get your facts straight.
I can’t believe ford is both known as making one of the cheapest cars with a side touch dash and armrest and then also made one of the only cars in this price category with cheap hard touch dash shit. Like pick a lane.
Love your reviews but would appreciate that you look up the definition of "simplistic" so you can stop using that adjective to describe an element of design. Thank you.
Ford is a very global company and has loads of history in rally. Not too sure if they are selling these overseas though. If it's just America then yes, it's a bit of a waste
You lot must all be on some sort of shared drug. This is £74k new in the UK. Let that cost sink in, £74k for THIS. If anyone buys this car at that price point, you absolutely have to see a psychiatrist. Hell even with 10K of that cost, I’d say you were being ripped off.
Kudos to you for not skipping a beat while doing much of this review during light showers. Overalll a great review. and while I own the model Y, I enjoy seeing other EVs and learning what features they have and how they compare to my Model Y performance.
Kudos for delivering a well done presentation in the Spring rain.
i like your video with some people of experts with new vehicles making reviews. lovely.
It's good to see you had just as much fun as we did driving the Rally in the dirt & mud! 😄 For anyone that says EVs are no fun, they should try a Rally!
Perfect for going up the curb of a Starbucks drive thru
Gotta get the cuppa joe! FAST.
Haha, two of my favorite car reviewers!! Great to see the collaboration!! Keep up the great work, guys!
Can’t wait to flex so hard at the mall sipping Starbucks with this car
That looks like SO MUCH fun.
That test track driving looked like a lot of fun!
Watching this makes me miss the Focus RS even more. 5000 lbs of fun? Nah.
@TheRealCatof why is that thing 2 tons
@TheRealCatof Curb weight for Kia Stinger GT AWD is 4157lbs. Still heavy but not 5000lbs.
@TheRealCatof how did you manage a fit a whole fridge and a washer in a lift back
@TheRealCatof 4100 lbs for your Kia. Unless you are 900 lbs of lard or have two yards of gravel in the trunk.
I’m never getting rid of mine lol I have a Focus RS & a Fiesta ST.
The Mach E really deserves its own name. Such an injustice to the Mustang and the growing Mach E line.
It should have been named the Mustang Mock Me and then we'd have truth in advertising. Apparently, that was the original plan but 3M sued to ovoid the potential confusion.
Simple fix: drop the Mustang part.
From a Mustang Bullitt owner, this vehicle its just pure marketing. This is not even close to a real Mustang. But looking it from another perspective, it is the coolest version so far.
I hope they have a sales plan for these Mach-E's. The Mach-E has something like 200 days of inventory dating back to 2022 sitting on dealer lots.
You waste time thinking about that? Wow
If ford offered a gas engine option or even the coyote in this thing sales will triple
You two do fantastic reviews together!
GREAT review as usual! I really want a GT but the Rally is amazing! I would definitely consider the Rally for sure!
We lost the focus RS for this?
I too wish the auto industry would offer more than just black or gray interior options. This one looks fun. I’d drive it!
Most Rally cars do not have super-wide tires. They don't need to extra weight. I like that the tires looks slightly more aggressive all-seasons. I'd love if they offered a knobbier tire for Dirt rallying.
I was relieved for you both when you finally got in the car, although you were totally unfazed by our lovely spring rain.
The spoiler looks like Batman ears
Holy Flying Fox! They do.
Lolol😅😅😅😅
And look at this a 25-minute video on why the Mach e should have been called the escort :-) Great video
What's it for?
This thing looks sick, but I dont understand the point. No one’s gonna be fooled into thinking this is anything more than an appearance package.
ruclips.net/video/9_9MQGZAlXQ/видео.htmlsi=F-eTyhtAAOtYSyK4
Nothing many other manufacturers haven’t done before
If it "looks sick", then mission accomplished Ford.
It's now more tail happy due to the unique Rally Sport mode, rides higher, has bash plates, and has suspension tuned to the wheel/tire combo, which makes it a FAIR bit better than just an appearance package !!
It’s not really just an appearance package.
Looks pretty cool! Really digging the front styling.
But less than 8 inches of ground clearance is just plain stupud. Should have at least 9.

Most cars are set up for understeer, at least from the factory.

For suburban mom with 5 kids who needs to feel capable navigating the dirt parking lots of apple picking orchards in the fall
its what makes subaru a subaru
I'll assume that fifth kid is going under the hatch?
Pumpkin patch
Thats a pretty big smile for driving and EV!

I want the Raptor version.
I want to see this in Ken Blocks livery (Hoonicorn)
Seems like ALL my auto review channels drop their reviews of the same car at the same time. Soyfan B is the one for me! Great reviews
Doesn't like the yellow and white combo. Didn't you also hate on the Bronco & Bronco Sport Heritage editions in yellow/white?
Yellow and white wheels and roofs go so well together.
The Rims are sweet. I Hope ford sells them in Night Pony package i would get them for my ME
I really like this new version of Mach E, it gives it more identity and separates from anything else in the market. Now if Ford would understand that the Mustang logo does not belong in the Mach E I think it would actually help it create its own identity. I hope to see it compete in Rallies!!!
I don’t know what ford was thinking about to implement no handle doors with abnormal big tab center console. Is this car oriented as handicap vehicle?
If the batteries allow this EV to make it to the used market I could see an enthusiast group forming in 10 years.
Did u guys go to the beautiful waterfall
They somehow managed to make it look even worse
The NYPD will buy tons of these.

The collab we didn't know we needed!
Is the driving experience like bumps and ride quality better in the rally than GT?
They said it was the best riding Mach E so far !!
Very cool looking car unfortunately beyond my price range so I'll be sticking with my Fusion for a few more years.
Been looking at an EV6 to replace my Stinger GT2 AWD... now this has caught my eye. Ugh... I'm torn. I love my stinger.
Could've called it just a Mach-E or the Electrifocus. Otherwise it's a solid Electric successor to classic rally vehicles. If you don't think of it in terms of "Is it saving the environment?" and think of it as, "Is it a cool new toy?" then the enjoyment increases considerably.
Awesome car
Kinda cool

The Bolt has been a good value most of the time it's been on the market. The problem, of course, is that it's a GM product..
You do have the brand new Chevy equinox ev as an affordable ev
Except no one is selling their performance EV lol@@mcnuggetapple
Looks like a portly, pricey knock-off of my 2022 Hyundai Kona N. Wonder if Ford will make this package available for more than the two years Hyundai offered the Kona N.
Needs the FRP-tuned 3.0TT V6!
19:14 To skip to the Rally Course
🔥 Sofyan 🔥
Good on Ford, this is a much cooler car than the Gen.1 Mach E, and is much better value in the Fun Factor stakes !!
If you take it offroad and punctured the battery, you're dead.
I love your enthusiasm, but no one is going to WANT a Ford Focus. It is a low cost bucket you can go places in. 😎
he clearlly was talking about the focus RS and not a basic focus.
I’m really disappointed in Most legacy car makers they routinely insult the intelligent of the customers I like and want a rally but it’s really just a badge basically a Rally car for people who don’t know what a rally vehicle is.

Welp. Cant compete withe the competition sooooo...RALLY!!
A 265 would've been terrible for range lol. Wouldn't have done much for acceleration either
I said this on instragram last week. I want to talk to the product managers at ford to discuss WHO THEY THOUGHT WOULD BUY THIS?!
Anyone who's awesome! This thing is amazing
Anyone who thinks driving down the forest road to their cabin is "Rally driving"

Me!! To go with my F150 and Bronco Heritage!
Looks like it'll be a blast to drive on and off road!
I WOULD !!

Great car for getting groceries just like every other “off-road” vehicle every manufacturer is infatuated with

I’m shocked if they sell one of these things
Be prepared to be shocked
Cant wait for 3 years... 60% or better 😂
This should call it the Ford Escort and put an emphasis on the E and put a whale tail on it.
Gas gets 400 miles + and a fill up takes less than 2 minutes. 10 hours to full charge or 36 min to charge from 10%-80% and only get 250 miles @ $64,000...so not worth it.
I’m really intrigued and sometimes genuinely excited at the whole EV thing, then everything you said snaps me out of it.
And apparently the owners manual attempts to dissuade owners from fast charging too.
"Off road".
Uh, no. Not even close.

your crazy if i’m paying 70k for a ford 😂😂
Forrest service roads in the Pacnw recommend at least 8” ground clearance. I wonder why Ford didn’t do that?
Say "Mach E" three times really fast and it sounds like "Monkey."
Minkey
🐒🐵
I’m not quite sure what the point of this car even is and who at ford thought this was going to sell.
I can’t believe ford is both known as making one of the cheapest cars with a side touch dash and armrest and then also made one of the only cars in this price category with cheap hard touch dash shit. Like pick a lane.
I understand the functional reason for these wheels on EVs, but man, they just aren't attractive to me.
Well, these are particularly egregious.
Glovebox is most certainly damped.
Probably not lined tho.
Love your reviews but would appreciate that you look up the definition of "simplistic" so you can stop using that adjective to describe an element of design. Thank you.
Crap weather as usual in the state...
Lol, it’s not called evergreen for nothing.
265 miles of range? Lol. Yeah more like 200 in the winter. Even less if you have a heavy foot. Plus, the charging rate is still not great.
I don’t think the focus weighed 5000 pounds….
Is that a joke? Race it in the desert till you run out of charge
Unless this is a 30k ev, it makes no sense 😮
Color blanco. Que ni te guste un color es subjetivo y no aporta mucho valor aquí así que solo resalta los puntos físicos y mecánicos o y eléctricos 😂😂

Whoever at Ford is greenlighting stuff like.....this thing...and the hideous IPAD dash on the new Mustangs must really hate cars.
It is still slower than Hyundai Ionic 5 N ot Kia EV 6. Kinda embarrassing
Look like wheels from a lawn mower.
0.00000001 of buyers will take it off road even less , rally
Sorry Ford this ain't it. I wish they would just scrap the Mach E and just release a traditional EV sedan.
