This is the type of content that makes me happy about our decision to move to Houston. Been living here for 4 months (hubs was born here, I am Romanian and moved here from Bucharest) and ironically New York was my dream city for years. Also ironically now that I live in the US I can't even go visit New York because of the quarantine stuff they have in place. But you do have a point, life has a cozy pace in Houston if you choose your work and home wisely (as to no be stuck in traffic for ever every day), and the no state income tax is definitely a plus. Also everyone I met here says its a great place to make and save money.
Glad you liked the video! Yes NY is beautiful to travel but was just too hard to truly enjoy her beauty making a living there. Thank you for sharing your experience fellow Houstonian :)
Hey, this is amazing....My wife and I are also from NYC and we just bought a home in Houston. We were also shopping homes in Long Island and the market there is just insanity. I hope you and your family the best. Houston will do us well!
I actually went to Houston to visit last year right after the snowstorm they had. I really liked the cheaper cost of living. I’m from Brooklyn, born and raised and the cost of living is insane here. I’m sure I’m going to moving by the time summer starts. I’m glad you’re happy with your move.

This is really interesting. I live in NYC and left to travel the world. My brother lived in SF and just a couple months ago moved to Austin. You are right though, it's nice to get out of places that make you super comfortable and you need to see new places. That's why we travel full time. We have heard nice things about Texas. It's great to hear your story and sharing your opinions. Haha. Hopefully you don't have to edit much. I hope that will be like that one day for us as we travel the world :) Have a nice day!
First time seeing your video, thank you for such a great informational clip!. would be great to see how your life is going and if you are still happy in Houston. We are looking to possibly make the move in the future 😊
My family and I are currently living on Long Island. Born and raised here. Looking into moving to Texas this year 2022!!!! We want to purchase our first home.. Thank you for this video… I tell my husband life is short let’s just go! But there is always that fear.
Awesome ! Let me know if you still need help finding a house or have any questions. I've been here 3 years now. I'm so shocked this video helped so many people I didn't check until now😅
Oh yeah I was going to move to LI or OC but ended up here. Will make my money here and decide where life will take us then. Life is short like you said! Try new things !
This is awesome! I'm a fellow NYer who just came back from living in VA after 7 years (such a culture shock 🥴) and I don't think NYC's the same at all, I love it here but it's not the best place for raising my sons... Houston TX has truly caught my eye lately and I'm thinking come 2022 I'd like to check it out with my family! ❤️ Thank you for this video & please make an updated video on Houston! ☺️
I was born & raised in the Bronx. I moved from NYC 5 years ago and never looked back. truly better living especially for smaller children. Just hate that I can't get the same food but its all good. NYC is great to visit but not to live anymore.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me in the description. Anything to help make moving transitions and finding a house easier , I'm here for you!
Yes I am here 3 years now. Home in Richmond and katy. Did you buy yet? Would love to see if I can help and share any tips and resources. My email is albert@nextgen.realestate just mention RUclips on the subject! Sorry I didn't know this video reached so many people, maybe I should make more videos to update all that's been happening 😊
Can't wait to go back to visit NY but yeah to make a living, I'm good love... surprisingly we ended up making more here before we got out of our comfort zone. Gods plan. If you have any questions about relocating and rent/buying real estate, feel free to email me at albert@nextgen.realestate , put RUclips on the subject line so I know!
Coming from CA to Houston, you might want to visit now and see how bad the state has gotten. If you think NY is expensive, look at prices in LA and SF then add on the absolute requirement that you have a car (probably multiple per household). It's also full of homeless people, smells like pee and poop everywhere, and even some violent crimes are not enforced due to the change in laws that happened around 2014-2015.
I and my wife are moving to Houston God willingly soon, I have lived in NYC for 35 years my wife a native New Yorker boy oh boy love NY but….😊 My only concern with your comment was that after 20 years you guys might move elsewhere? Why Thank you for sharing your experience
20 years later in Houston and how amazing it could be by then might make you stay a little longer, but if you've always wanted to go to California, maybe that'll be something to get out your system even though so many born-in Californians are just going, leaving California, even companies. California has become the chaos state. Hawaii actually has the better weather and conditions; now, just if it wasn't so far from the mainland, haha. If they get the hyperloop actually going and make it feel like nothing to go to Hawaii, then a lot of people might want to go there.
Agreed! Houston will always be a home base but California will just be a vacation home. Retiring and enjoying california is the dream without having to work. But yes Hawaii too just so far 😛
That was on my mind as well. The power issues are definitely a challenge but I am optimistic about TX working to get a better solution soon especially with the migration of people here. There are floodzone areas that maybe you can steer away from. The area we are in has better infrastructure and elevation especially the newer communities. Every city/state is going to have their issues, California has earthquakes, New York has high crime and snow storms, Oklahoma has tornadoes. I guess you pick whichever you can tolerate the best with!
8-10 degree hotter around the year. Actually I am about the make a video 5 things I don't like about Houston and 5 things I love about houston. Subscribe to check which one the weather will be on 🤠
Fellow NYker too. I moved to Houston. If you come down ck out the Galleria, The Heights, Medical Center, Memorial, Sugarland Town Center. They all have very nice homes/apartments.
You gotta come check it out. Once you're here you will know either yes or no the vibe for you! Contact me if you ever come , I'm an agent and can show you around like I've had for many . Email - albert@nextgen.realestate

Nice, congrats ! Where ya moving from ?
Great job of explaining. Did you move to Katy? We have been here one year from Chicago. We love it. Now we need to buy. Congratulations.

Better quality of life, better roads, no state taxes, more comfortable housing, much lower cost of living in Tx
Oh yes! I'm about to make my top 5 things I love about Houston!
I wanna move !
Leaving ny has been one of the best decisions Renee and I ever made!
The world is your oyster, do it !
How do you guys feel after the power issues / occasional flooding?

How do you like the crime rate in Houston?
So far nothing crazy on my side of town. But downtown like any other city there are crimes. Not California bad though 😅
