I attended, set up tables & booths at every San Diego Comicon from #1 in 1970 thru 2012. Am 62 now, broke the chain last year in 2013, old age be catching up, the trek across country hauling two tons of comics stuff & fixtures for a 30 foot booth simply became over-whelming. Am going again this year again simply to catch up and chat with what-ever old friends managed to get tickets. It truly was "home away from home" for over four decades. Thanks for making this.
Hello, Robert. I have to say, I am speechless after reading your comment. I made this documentary back in high school and I would have never imagined someone like yourself, a true Comic Con veteran, not only appreciating the video but thanking me for making it. I am both incredibly humbled and honored. Thank you so very, very much for sharing your story and for your kind words.
Phamista, I have been wrapped up distracted with my oldest daughter's bout with now ten skull opening brain moving surgeries to seal some holes in her skull. I apologize for being late to the G+ game here to respond. I hvve not been on G+ since April 2014. I do plan on being back here more often and posting lots more.
Yer comicon documentary is remains will be wonderful for future generations to learn to appreciate the special energy which comicon has grown in to. Take a bow, sir, job well done!
How is your daughter doing,Robert?
Im also a comic artist/fan here in the philippines. And go to our local comic-con here every year. Im not the type of person who usually talk to someone i dont know, but theres a sense of ease to talk to strangers during comic conventions, cos u know u have the same passions. Theres "you'll become talkative" effect in comic cons, its feels so much like home, i wanna lay on the floor.! hahaha nice documentary! Hopefully one day, i can attend comicon in ur country =)
Great video, it was perfect for showing my friends what Comic Con is like!
Hopefully you can attend the Con sometime soon, it's a remarkable experience! Thanks for the feedback!
Thank you for the feedback! Much appreciated.
Good job! You guys should do this every year.
Thank you for the feedback!
Very awesome, I felt like I was there watching this documentary. Thanks.
Just found this 7 years later, really missing going cross country to my 6 favorite cons every year, hope next year will be more crowd friendly, truly miss the con experience
Since the making of this, I started working for this convention... which has only made it feel more like a home away from home. Here's to hoping we can experience these amazing conventions again soon! 🤞 Maybe I'll see you there next year!
Awesome Documentary guys. I live 10 mins away from Downtown San Diego. I love my city and I love Comic Con
Great film. Very professionally done too.
I really enjoyed this documentary. You guys really dedicated to it and it is really informative to someole like me who is going to a Comic Con for the first time. No, i am not going to San Diego, 2014 is the year of the first Comic Con in Portugal and i feel that i realy need to gather all the information possible to be prepared.
Thank you for the dedication. I just hope it will be as awesome as San Diego's Comic Con.
This is a well made documentary epically coming from people on their first time there.
Great job guys!
Great work you should do a documentary tour of comic book stores...it would be bad ass!
Awesome documentary. You got a subscriber. Going to SDCC again this year
I really enjoyed watching this documentary, it was great to see you guys talk about something you're so obviously passionate about :) I really hope that someday I'll be able to go to San Diego Comic Con! I went to my first comic con this year in Manchester- I live in England -and it was really amazing, I'm definitely going to go to all the cons I can :D
Didn't really show much about comic artists or the aspect of aspiring creators showing their portfolio. That's ok it's not the documentary for me but it's still very good and thorough and you put amazing effort into it.
THANKS SO FUCKING MUCH TWILIGHT
Good film! Very well made!
Guys, there are very few documentaries about comics let alone comic cons. I started out thinking "whining comic geeks?" but, boy, this was VERY enjoyable and I hope you all keep enjoying SDCC. This was a well produced documentary. Much kudos!
Great bit of film here!!
I'm a professional animator and illustrator. LOVED your documentary. I've been to many conventions and will be tabling at conventions after all this covid mess. Your film made me miss them even more. LOL.
All the best to you all. And many thanks. :)
Thanks for sharing and thank you so much for the kind words! This is the first time in 11 years that I won't be going to SDCC... I miss it too :(
Totally awesome!
really enjoyed this. Fresno native here, so I smiled when I saw you guys were from Visalia. Very impressive, though. Will you be doing a follow-up? Like you said there's so much more to comic-con. Definitely have to show the night life in the gaslamp. 2015 will be my 5th year in a row going. Hope to see you guys there.
THANKS SO FUCKING MUCH TWILIGHT U RUINED COMIC CON

I'll be honest, I was caught off guard and wasn't expecting this movie to be so enjoyable but it is haha! Good job gentlemen. Makikng me wanna go to a comic con soooo bad! Crossing my fingers they'd show any updates on Jurassic Park 4 or something next year.
It's true Comic-Con is a second home for me too.Whenever i attend i feel Elated.
Great vid, well made.

2:37 is that brad from the new show about video game developers mythic quest?
I believe it was Danny Pudi from Community.
You can't remember Peter Mayhew but you remember the talentless olivia Munn? Ah well
Are you going this year for SDCC 50?
Yes, I actually started working for them that year! I miss it terribly.
What’s the song at 46:34?
It's called "Home Away From Home" written by my friend Tommy Withnell.
And long live Halo!
