- Hey guys! Today we're playing the brand new Malakai Makaisson campaign, featuring his pals Gotrek & Felix. We'll be launching the Spirit of Grungi, his beloved Thunderbarge, and undertaking many a quest (and settling many a grudge!).
There's plenty of new units and plenty of new features as part of the Dwarf rework coming alongside the Thrones of Decay DLC(s)
You can pick up the DLC(s) on launch day from my referral link if you want to help me out - it makes a bigger difference than you might realise!: link.xsolla.co...

7:19 If I remember this correctly, the reason for Karagrim taking that title of "War Mourner" was that this was someone who would carry the same oaths and obligations as the king. Basically their personal champion who could be their proxy. Point being that Karagrim didn't then take his OWN Slayer oath, but was merely bound by the oath of his father, and by dying Karagrim could also free him from the oath. If GW had killed off Karagrim and allowed Ungrim to stop being a Slayer, I would have liked the outcome. It would have been the one time something good happens to Dwarves, and it would have still been a sad story. Or if they had had the guts to let Ungrim be the one who died a glorious death. That would have been acceptable as well. By having Karagrim created, killed off and then have Ungrim retake Slayer oath AGAIN because he was sad about his son dying, was stupid. Sure, it is Grimdark and Grimderp and sad, but it is just stupid and cowardly because they didn't want to change anything relevant in the setting...
damn, this is a strong faction with an appropriately tough start. looking forward to see how this series goes!
I am calling him M and M. He's got a chocolate center under that gruff shell.
Yep, Malakai is a Smartie!
27:00 Konstaltyn tresspassed the turn you took over Fort Osterak, giving everyone a mark in the book.
They really should have added Snorri Nosebiter instead of Garagrim Ironfist.
I know right. Seeing Snorri going ham with his axe and hammer would have been fantastic. Just pile the 3 characters in on the enemy hero’s brilliant
This DLC leans a bit TOO much on slayers for my taste. But I just dont like the slayer part of the dwarfs anyway
Seems a bit unfair that units stolen by Slaanesh are subject to the same conditions that cause the army to get wiped out (i.e. losing a siege).
Kinda means you're pretty much guaranteed to completely lose a unit if you fight a Slaaneshi army that's gonna get wiped out after the battle.
That is the terrifying nature of chaos corruption, once caught, oblitteration is the only way to erase the taint, even for unwilling victims. There is no means of recovery outside divine miracles that requires a plot agency so massive that it only ever saves heroes or turns arch villains neutral on their death beds.
I get that it fits the theme but from a gameplay perspective its pretty annoying to have such a mechanic with no counterplay. If slaneesh steals a very important expensive unit I am just screwed. Hence I just installed a mod that removes this mechanic.
according to the great book of grudges (youtuber), you do get locked out of the challenges if you do the quest battle
Garagrim fight along side with Gotrek and Felix in "Road of skull". So he do have more story.
And did that make his story as the son of Ungrim any more compelling or could he have been literally any Slayer? I'm genuinely asking, I've not read it.
@@JanetOnOccasion No not really. Let alone that story being make after Storm of Chaos release too.
Well I guess it’s up to us to give him a story then :P
They should have had Gungrim as Snori instead, but I know they used Gungrim Ironfist as the Storm of Chaos tie-in to for the faction. (But Snori is great, and it would have collected more of Gotrek’s companions. Good thing THESE Dwarfs can get Ulrika.)
@@JanetOnOccasion I do actually like the part when Garagrim, Ungirm and Gotrek argue infront of Grimnir shrine that which one of them should go north and kill the Chaos lord that attack Karak Kadrin. Then Ungrim pull out the "King" card on Gotrek and the "Father" card on Garagrim to force both of them to stay.
I feel like garagrim ironfist is a great example of how pointless dwarfs honor system is and how it really just leads alot of dwarfs to suicide for little to no gain for the dumbest reasons
Can’t decide what to put in your army? Easy! Build a second one.😅
What if Malakai acted like a Horde and like Nakai there was another faction that occupied the settlements he took over?
Or he just made minor structures like the chaos factions who have vassels and then you are encouraged to sell the settlements to which ever faction you want to make friends with.
Because Nakai's faction works so well and everyone likes him so much
/s
Malakai is known to build workshop-colonies and outposts in human lands with permission of the legitimate local/regional lord, so I'd say the Ogre camp mechanic would be a better foundation for even more lore immersion.
When is this coming out?
April 30 is the inteneded release date.
loving all the firepower but u gotta let the artillery get off a few more rounds before u charge in
Sounds boring. We’re winning every battle regardless so why be coy? My Slayers wanna slay. Let them slay, I say
they are slayers good luck holding slayers back
@@lucaspritchard8575 trying to hold a single slayer back sounds like a good way to aquire an immediate az-delivered surprise lobotomy... tying to hold back a mob of them is asking to get converted into offal pig feed...
@@JanetOnOccasion slay without pay I'd say this is the way
does sartosa get the slayer pirates
