My friend from Minnesota just told me that Mr.Jimmy was a town drunk, used to be a musician, and that Mick ordered a cherry red soda but they didn't have any ,so Mr Jimmy turned to Mick and says You can't Always Get What You Want. ❤
That's awesome! I've never heard that story before.
He was the town bum jimmy was I knew him from bumming cigars from my grandpa in excelsior Mn
That story is correct about jimmy
They also did come back the year that jimmy died and sang at the grandstand for free also it was around the 4th of July I remember some of it as I was child then

The good old times..
You have to admit that the Stones are extraordinary, they survived countless bands who came later.
Thank you Jesus for Mic & The Stones . True true, now at age 84 I appreciate them. Mic, lyrics & music better than ever. "You can't always get what you want" after how true is that us of those magical mystery tours of time. ❤
I’m going on 70, and having grown up with their music, and many others, it makes me so happy that I’m of the Baby Boomer generation! I admit that I can appreciate a lot of the music from back then MORE NOW, esp when they have lyrics that imo are more meaningful and relevant today than when 1st released. For example: Neil Young’s Cortez the Killer (Crazy Horse version, plus the ones by Warren Haynes and the DMB), Simon and Garfunkel’s Sound of Silence (although I never liked it by them and still don’t, BUT the one ‘covered’ by David Draiman (from Disturbed, known as being a ‘heavy metal’ band no less!). I loved 💗 his solo, black and white video performance of it so much that I requested it to be played at my funeral! This was just to name a couple of many more!

And still writing songs today!!

This was the coolest video of the Stones I've ever seen. As a millennial that grew up with parents from the 60s who grew up idolizing the Stones, it's so weird seeing Mick Jagger as the most youthful guy I've ever seen, he makes me feel like an old man looking at him move
Agreed, but It's also worth noting that he's probably on a lot drugs.
I saw him the other day in concert. He's 80 and literally moves the same. I'm 27 and was struggling more to crane my neck to see him & there he was running, jumping & dancing for 3 hours straight lol

Not another frontman like him. Jagger commanded your attention.
Idk about not another one like him. I'd say not as many as one may think. Jim Morrison was a GREAT front man. So was David Lee Roth in his prime. Ian Asbury from The Cult. And I'd put Stevn Tyler in that fold as well. Maybe even Axl Rose in his prime. No one has done it longer tho. Amazing band.
I love the clothes men wore in the 60's. The colours and fabrics....amazing

@@mikedean5060 i would kill for that
@@mikedean5060 oh wait. I acctually eore like that haha
@evolunter Well, sometimes boys wore girls' clothing back then, just like girls both then and now wear boy's clothing sometimes. They weren't averse to a floral blouse if it looked good on them. Mick famously wore a white dress to the Stones' free concert in Hyde Park.
But loads of places in London, like Carnaby Street, the King's Road in Chelsea, the Beatles' Apple Boutique in Marylebone, and the Kensington Market were all crammed with beautiful stuff for both men and women. There was a little place in Soho somewhere that made (or had made for them) and sold the most gorgeous skin tight, crushed velvet bell-bottoms, in a rainbow of colour choices, for both sexes. They couldn't make them fast enough to keep up with demand. Another shop in the same area sold stinky but beautiful goatskin Afghan coats.
Fun Fact: all those exotic, beautiful clothes smelt of patchouli oil, because a lot of the cotton and silk fabrics they used to make them from were shipped over from India, where the oil was used as moth repellent. Then all the hip young people in England thought this strange new smell was kind of cool and started using it as perfume... Yes folks, we were using moth repellent as perfume.. Life was one big experiment! :-)

So many awesome things in this video. The Stones in their prime. Brian and Charlie. John Lennon applauding in the audience. Great show. Super cool.
Yes, the stones were probably at their peak around this period, but Brian Jones not so much. It’s clear to see by the way he looks and how he’s performing onstage that this wasn’t his finest hour. Jones wasn’t bothered about the stones at this point and no longer enjoyed it. Drugs and alcohol had taken over his life. As a result the man was found dead in his own swimming pool only a year later, after supposedly ‘overdosing’.

I have to admit I assumed they were lip syncing and this was a video.
@@michaelcorcoran8768 this doesn't seem lipsynched. The recorded version of this song has like, a choir and an orchestra backing them up, this is a more stripped down live version. They're just good performers, and it was probably well-prodixed since it was meant for tv.
Yeah! And there almost all wearing what looks like rain coats in different colors but Lennon wearing green.
I believe this IS from their movie Rock n Roll Circus.
pretty amazing right?
Extraordinary Mick ! A great song for this legendary band
The ultimate bad boy. I love Him.
Playing this gem after ending things with the girl I thought that I was going to marry. Timeless
Maybe yo should marry her, and then sing this song.
@@juancarlosbuendiacuellar768 bruh not everyone is worth it.
@@juancarlosbuendiacuellar768 when the problems came up in our relationship I would whistle this song to myself
Sorry it didn’t work out, but better to end it before you get too messed up. I’m 20 years married to the man who was my best friend and my boss, (on a fish farm in the Scottish highlands), and has been a true rock to me after I had a psychotic breakdown in 2009. He’s had to deal with finding me close to death after I decided to check-out from life - he’s a paramedic and he also was the one called to my dad when he suddenly died. So, yeah, when you find the right person it’s great and it usually happens when you stop actively looking for that special one. I truly believe there’s someone for everyone and having the balls to end something when you feel you’re with the wrong person is something many people don’t do and they suffer for it. I wish you all the happiness in the world x
@@primenumberbuster404 amen 👍🏻
