I wish I could see the alternate universe of Anthony never joining Opie and see how unsuccessful he (Opie) would have been

@@matthewbutt2340possibly. There's also a chance he could've ended up on Howard. He and Patrice both did Howard at some point. And Ant was doing some radio before even meeting Opie. People seem to think Opie "discovered" Ant, Jim and Patrice. Patrice and Jim were already comedians. If anything, THEY made that talentless hack Opie famous.

@johnnylove2073 I bet Baba-booey had his phone# written down. He definitely would have got a try-out for the Jackie chair, and we all would have been denied the opportunity to ever see the AA show.
( In this scenario, Opie is Biff, stealing the sports almanac and going back in time.)

Opie was doing radio for more than 15 years. He was doing late night radio for probably $20k a year. Then he met Ant and became successful.

Redban used to be Rogan's producer and right-hand man, as most of us probably know. He made 85k a year back then.
He was the one who filmed that Mencia and Rogan confrontation at The Store, eons ago.
I remember once, during one of those ancient Ustream live 'Ice House Chronicles' podcasts when Ari heard Rogan saying at the table that he paid Redban 85k, Ari was stunned and looked at Redban and said 'Wait, you make 85 grand a year?
Ari's cadence basically conveyed 'this guy who isn't even a comic and yet is doing way better than me.'

This shows why Opie wasn't invited back. Because he's a dud interview.
You'll never get anything personal out of him, apart from his crazy mother. And he's not self-reflective enough to talk about himself with any sort of honesty.

I always have to give Opie the most miniscule amount of credit for going as far as he did in the world of Radio without having any talent whatsoever. He and Stuttering John are both guys cut from the same cloth. I guess StutJo earned his fame a bit more than Opie did. Opie never did anything that stood out to me during all those years I listened and have since gone back and listened several more times. Ant and Jimmy a long with a handful of guest comics was the most entertaining radio show I've ever listened to. I was a Stern fan at a very young age. I remember the E show on weekdays at 11 and 11:30pm...Anyway Opie sucks. He was never talented and people give him too much credit for being the "Captain of the ship" who steered the show when it was needed. There is no skill in that, anyone could do that, and actually Opie was constantly going to callers during great parts of the show simply because that was all he could do. Sorry boys I do not like the Opester! Can you tell😂😂😂

  • @grantrizmo2002cb

Ok so I fell about Opie the same as most of you. HOWEVER...theres one thing here I have to sorta play "devils advocate" on. So Opie mentioned after this appearance that while there he took had a few puffs on a joint and hadnt smoked in years. Rogan doesnt smoke backyard boogey. He smokes the high end shit. So how Opie is asking if theyre gonna talk about him if he goes pee, thats the type of shit I myself would prob spew while high. Then spend the night being self concious of it. So even tho hes a douche, hes just really high here and didnt handle it well...

  • @jasongoins8608

Opie is as cringe as they come, and I never really liked the dude. That being said....i think you're being pretty nit-picky with your trashing of him in this instance.
Btw....the Snuka joke about the wife being dead made perfect sense.

Opie is such a liar that I wouldn't be surprised if it comes out that his mother was actually normal all this time. Nearly everything he said on radio was a lie. He just HAD to be a part of every conversation, even though he had nothing to contribute.
