Coincidentally, I just heard a replay the "first" jocktober a few days ago. It all started with a call from a listener who said the jocks Frankie and "Danger Boy" in Utah were trashing O & A, but there was no recording of it yet. They had Sam record one of their broadcasts and they were viciously eviscerated jocktober-style on air. But when they played back the alleged trashing of O & A, the comments - made during a call from the wife of one of the jocks - turned out to be mostly innocuous. Undaunted, Opie recognized this was a repeatable stunt and by the end of the episode they were tossing around a ideas for a name; one of them was "E-Rocktober." Thankfully they went with jocktober.
Thus, a bit was born - accidentally as it turns out, like many of their best bits.

I'm trying to do the math and how Opie makes $120 a show or whatever after all these years and is able to support his lifestyle, is beyond me. O&A must've made soo much more than reported. Anthony probably lost a few mill at gambling and Opie is a Je skinflint. So, it's rather interesting.
The stairs thing Opie is talking about - we did a stairs challenge at work, and we are on the 10th floor. I lost about 10 lbs because of it.

11:05 - I disagree. The Opster has made this bar part of his show for years. He includes the rattling utensils, the side conversations, random noise from the other bar patrons, yelling out to folks on the street, etc.

19:36 if memory serves Sam Roberts was a little Gremlin who would steal ideas from other Interns and pass them off as his own work to the point an Intern blew his brains out and opie will rarely mention him. No way he was skimming through all that with his other weird VHS wrestling addictions he was stealing their work, Karl would verify it as getting people to "skim" through stuff remains his largest problem because it's alot of work for "guests" _(workers)_ no way was SAM doing anything but stealing.
They both broke as shit by now,and yes they both really suck separately. Wouldn't even want Jim back. He's to far gone down that ridiculous road he chose. Very sad what happened to everyone except Opie. He deserves it
