Mahmoud Abdul Rauf was destined to be one of the greatest shooting guards of all time had he not been blackballed by the the NBA due of his personal faith & convictions. He's a pure shooter and fun to watch in & outside the 3 point line. His time with the Nuggets was short and sweet. Such a shame the NBA's heavily involled in politics. Kudos to you sir for having integrity & still sharing your love for the game. 👍

@@jblegend5272 they sent him to hell (Sacramento) for sitting during the Nat'l Anthem then telling an uncomfortable truth about the song when asked. The league fined him until he stood but the damage was done already. You could see him praying while he stood so there was also a touch of early islamaphobia. Anyway, his performance slowed down, he was never re-signed.

That’s the best shooting advice I’ve ever watched explaining form etc..I’m so happy to see Mahmoud is relaxed, no more uncomfortable turrets, and content.
In today’s game with smaller lineups, open offenses with movement, along with fast breaks he would be one of the top scorers in the NBA.
Yes, he was Steph Curry before Curry only faster and an even better handle.

One of the best to put in work.... Mahmoud was a BEAST... and did it all with an affliction... although some may say the Tourette’s may have actually helped his game because he couldn’t leave the gym until the ball, the floor, EVERYTHING had to FEEL right before He could leave... He said in an interview that the shot not only had to fall, the NET had to flick the same way after the ball went through or He couldn’t leave the gym... A class act, one of the greats... got railroaded out of the league on some Kapernick type garbage... but that’s another story... He would very likely lead the league in free throw percentage and scoring if He were still playing today....

That was a great breakdown about what you need to know about how to shoot a basketball accurately. Good tip about how to grip the ball with your shooting hand, and where to place your off hand. I see many teenage players put their off hand fingers BEHIND the ball as they load up to shoot. This leads to shooting the ball with both hands, and not as accurate as possible. You also noted you have to develop muscle memory by shooting the ball many, many times. This man is a great shooter, and he is telling you how he does it for free. I wish I had RUclips when I was a teenager just learning basketball. I got most of my instruction from basketball books. Not even close to what you get from RUclips.

I love this guy. Purest shooter and quickest release all time imo.His footwork was incredible and sickest crossover ever. Better than Curry and could spring for his height. GOAT p guard and I'll never forgive NBA for robbing him of his best years.
