I remember the first time I tried out for a basketball team in the 8th grade, played pretty well, but got cut. I asked the coach what I could work on and he basically said it was because I had no left hand dribble and as a shooting guard it was pretty important. I spent that whole next summer and Fall dibbling with only my left had. I would dribble around the block, through my house, to the bus stop, all left handed. It ended up becoming my dominant dribbling hand and I was able to make the team for my next 4 years of school. Goes to show that if you put in the work, you can achieve your goals.

I was never a dribbler, I could shoot and play defense and only played in the streets. In my late 30s I decided to give it try and now I have decently tight handles (that are really effective because it’s unexpected by just looking at me). Part of the key is what he mentioned here, whenever I was in a space we’re I could dribble I would be dribbling. I also used this channel with a couple others for ideas and routines. I adjusted them to fit my old bones because most of what I saw was for kids taking it seriously. Great over all messages in this video and flow and edits were on point too

What’s crazy is I was looking for something like this about 6 months ago and couldn’t find it anywhere. When my son (age 5) showed interest in basketball I immediately wanted to get him started with dribbling fundamentals.
Know we spend more time indoors than outdoors nowadays I wanted him to still be able to practice while inside. Tim Hardaway had some contraption, but was super expensive and didn’t seem user/space friendly.
This is perfect! I’ll definitely be ordering one for my son. One thing I never had as a kid was a handle or a jump shot. However I always had solid defensive prowess, ran the break and had CRAZY athleticism.
If my son can carry the skills I did have and add a handle and jumper he’ll be nasty! I already think he’s gonna be taller than me. I’m 6’2”, my little brother is 6’4” and my dad was 6’5”. My son is later than my waistline at 5. I just might order one for myself too and finally develop that handle I never had 😂

I'm extremely competitive. I was always captain at football and baseball. One day, I got picked last to play basketball because I didn't know how to play. My mum co-worker got me an old basketball the next day and it was ovrr that summer. I dribbled the ball everywhere and when it got easy, I dribbled walking backwards. I even studied Reggie Miller's shooting form(my favorite player even though im a long life Heat Fan) and made sure to use my wrist and not push with my arms. I started off not even being able to hit rim from the free throw line. All of this because I got picked last.

And even then I didn't play for the team out of fear due to me being so short and also being very shy and worried about what everyone else thought. Like you said though in the video you dribbled around in your house I did the same thing copied moves from my favorite player Kyrie Irving and also used to try and copy moves from 2k id do with my myplayer. I would be dribbling for hours self teaching myself how to do these moves. My handles aren't as great as yours though id have to keep on practicing on how to do it in game and how I can make them more effective. great video man seriously!
