The thing about accents is that we all have one, but since we usually talk and listen to people who have our same accent, they don't notice ours and we don't notice theirs. Using closed captions. Good luck. .

I submitted a topic to the Phil Donahue show in January of 1982. The producers decided to make one of their shows about this, so I was invited to attend. They offered to pay for me and a guest to fly to Chicago, but we decided to drive and I was reimbursed for travel expenses of gas money. The producers paid for our overnight stay at a hotel also. Just before the show, we were invited back stage to meet Phil with a small group of other guests. He was the most handsome, kind and sweet host! Very personable and charismatic! He was very gracious and grateful for our input into this show. A wonderful and exciting experience and cherished memory! God’s blessings to his wonderful soul and to his precious wife and family!

Aren't they just lovely together. Thanks Mr Phil for the memories and the thought-provoking topics. YOU WERE THE GOAT OF TALK. I have memories of my father getting ready for work in the 1970s, in the background, always was The Donahue Show. Rest easy dear Sir. 😢

My mother was a guest on his show in 1991. I’m not going to say who she is or why she was on the show. But I will say I grew up watching him and am very sorry to hear about his passing. Rest in peace Phil.

"Giving so much of themselves" --- and becoming multi-millionaires while doing it 🤔! Seems quite a few "giving" people somehow become very wealthy 😉!

Both of them have loved each other for decades. It’s very rare in Hollywood. I hope Marlo doesn’t get the broken heart syndrome. They are a cute couple! I love the video where she meets Phil for the first time! She’s so cute. Her eyes get very big when he compliments her I believe.

RIP Mr. Donahue. I have vivid memories rushing home from school to watch the show at 4pm. I loved his kind manner and respectful insights though I didn't always agree with him. I learned open-mindedness and tolerance of others from him in areas where my parents were closed. I am a conservative by nature but appreciate and treasure the topics and conversations he ventured to explore.

Seeing the supports that defined your generation crumble away is difficult to see. I never watched his show because I had better things to do, when I was much younger. I do remember him as a staple in my life. It's hard to watch entire generations fade away. It really is. Every time I see an obituary with my birth year as they year of death, it wakes me up. Be kind and tell people who have helped you along the way, thank you. Peace and Goodwill.
