    I visited Tombstone for the first time last month (Dec 2023). The people were very friendly and fun! I was pleasantly surprised that it was not a Disneyland or Key West experience where you feel like you are wrung out for your last dollar. I had so much fun that I spent more than I expected to and don't regret it a bit!😃👍

    Most interesting video. I enjoyed watching it. One could almost say it was back when Allen St was paved. When I first visited in 1994 Allen St was paved and opened to traffic. It was paved when lived there from 2000 - 2003. There was talk of putting 'Hollywood dirt' on the three blocks in the historical district at that time. I last visited there in 05 and the 'Hollywood dirt' was in place. I was not impressed with the appearance of this fake dirt. After watching your videos it appears that something better has been put in place and it looks good. I commented before about how much improved Tombstone is since I lived there. And look forward to visiting again. Keep up the good work with the videos.

    That was cool. I've traveled through there since about 1970. Always amazed at the changes. Be neat to do one like this on Bisbee. That's my favorite.

    Great video! I my opinion, Tombstone has a little bit more style back in the 50’s! I counted three diff gas stations, automobiles parked on Allen St, a couple of General Stores, etc etc! I really wish I could’ve been alive during the 20’s & 30’s just to get a taste of what the town was like before it started to turn into a tourist Mecca!

      Yeah the 80 used to run right down Allen Street. Not on Fremont like it is today. Mind blown!

    A superb visual history.
    There can be no greater difference in contrast in the monumental efforts to preserve the Western history of the town than 12:31-12:35. To include: removal of asphalt roadway, covering concrete sidewalks (18:07), and removal of power poles and moving those lines underground. 6:32 I believe this is the tree the "Vigilantes" would take persons they wished to honor to in a mock hanging ceremony. Instead of telling the crimes you committed they would tell of the good things you had done for the town. I also notion that person received something saying they had been "hanged" by the Vigilantes. A great social honor.

    Just think, if it wasn’t for the hype over that damn gunfight, Tombstone would just be a bus stop in the desert.

    It's interesting that they took all the paved roads out and put dirt roads back like it was.

  • @jimbosvidbits6166
    @jimbosvidbits6166 9 месяцев назад +1

    Cool. So, what is up with the roads or some roads that are dirt? Has the hard road been removed or are they just covered over with dirt? And if they are, how does the dirt not blow or wash away? It appears that you can't drive on certain roads? I've never been there. Just really curious about the whole place there and the history

    • @Desert.Sky.Adventures
      @Desert.Sky.Adventures  9 месяцев назад +2

      You can’t drive on Allen st. That’s the one with the dirt. The road is still there they just add more dirt as needed.
