    I haven't been to Tombstone in nearly 50 years. Worked out of Tucson on Southern Pacific Railroad in the early 70's. Retired at Tracy, CA in 1997. Tombstone was a little more opened up back then. They didn't have the OK Corral closed up then. --- Thanks for the tour... Jim, Olympia, WA

    I grew up in Tombstone now i am home sick i mean that in a good way. It was great to see town. Thanks for the tour the ok cafe used to be called the stage stop i was the one put the cafe there in the late 70s. My mom and my aunt owned the long horn in the early 70s i sure miss home. It is a very hunted place. Many a time in the late late night i could here boots and spurs and no one was on the streets. Thanks again.

    My family and I were in Tombstone back in May of 2021 and plan to return next year. The smoke shop was awesome for us being cigar smokers. Friendly folks hanging out there and they are one of only two stores in the world you can buy an Evel Knievel cigar. It was not the best smoke I’ve ever had but the novelty was great. A good smoke you may enjoy trying.

    A very nice presentation.
    In a previous video you received a 1st class tour of the Marshall's Facility and I commented on the Mormon Colony in Mexico that fielded a team that played against Tombstone at the old High School.
    This time you got to see some of the human dimension of Tombstone most tourists do not experience.
    Human drama such as when the owner of the Bird Cage had his windows shot out by someone from Elfrida - and the then Marshall played Andy Griffith and had them work out their issues instead of making an arrest. Or when I had to take my disabled veteran friend and his wheelchair to Tucson to get replacement batteries for his electric wheelchair as they no longer made deliveries. Many things make Tombstone unique. The history and I think also the way people interact with each other. Sometimes the same way it was done in the old West Tombstone.

    So what you may or may not know. That table that has all of the historical trinkets on it at time stamp 19:44 is the actual pool table that Morgan Earp was shot on. They used to have that as a tourist piece, but they dont advertise it anymore as people used to steal pieces off of it, but it is still there.

    • @Desert.Sky.Adventures
      @Desert.Sky.Adventures  2 года назад

      @sensei2121 2 года назад

      @@Desert.Sky.Adventures Yeah I had to go there for the 3rd time before I found out about it. Really annoys me how people have to ruin it for others by stealing pieces off something so valuable to the history of Tombstone. They used to display just like they did the faro table, but constantly parts of the table would end up missing etc. So now they just cover it up and use it as a table and dont mention it so tourist have no idea. As someone who loves the Earp stories and Tombstone, I love knowing that the table is there and still exists!!

    • @sensei2121
      @sensei2121 2 года назад +1

      @@Desert.Sky.Adventures There are a couple of videos out there comparing Tombstone and Wyatt Earp. I like them both, but obviously I like Kurt Russel and Val Kilmer better in the Doc and Wyatt roles. One thing I found interesting, really small detail about the shootout, was Doc shot and killed the horse to get at one of the Mclaurys vs in Tombstone he shoots in the air to try and startle it. The movie Wyatt Earp got that right and is exactly what I read about it in the court testimonies from the trial back then. Also the story of the ambush by Curly Bill on Wyatt. Wyatt said it was a hot day and he had his belt buckle and pants undone while on the back of his horse to keep cool. When the first shot rang out, his horse reared up and he about fell off. his pants were hanging down to his knees and he was trying to get his pants up and get his boot out of the stirrup all while being fired upon. He said it was just plain luck he never got shot. Its those little details I find oh so very interesting and of course doesnt make for a serious shot in a movie, but you can just see the reality of something like that in those times that can get lost over time.

    My question that I asked a few years ago on the ghost adventure at the Bird Cage was why do you only have the ghost thingy at night? Are the ghost not allowed to come out during the day, but only come out at night like vampires. I had the guy putting the show on laughing and the whole place rolling when I said that I do have my REAL pistol with me and that it was loaded with silver tip Winchester bullets.
    Maybe you should go over to Superior and visit Mattie Blaylock Earp in the Pinal Historic Cemetery. I have been told by several people that if you are out there after midnight, and go to Matties grave that is close to the entrance...you can talk to her and then listen carefully and she will talk back to you. Now I have no personal experience with her talking to me, but that is just what many people have told me. I have only been there during the daylight hours...and always on a Goldwing motorcycle.
    This link will describe in detail how to get to the Pinal Historic Cemetery... (Sorry, I didnt stop the video, but the noise that you hear is my cell phone and a call from the "war department"...aka...the wife. She was having an issue and wanted some advice/help to fix the issue. I talked her thru it and all is good in Happyville now.

    It's so commercialized. Hate all that traffic going by. The only thing I'd want to see is the Bird Cage Theater. I had a friend who worked there and you just wouldn't believe what they have in the basement...

      I believe they are. If you have a wheelchair, you might need a little help getting up the little bump onto the boardwalks. But they run the length of Allen Street so once you’re on the boardwalks you should be good.

    I've been doing Old West living history and gunfight re-enactments for 13 years and have studied the "Street Fight on Fremont", as it was originally known, quite extensively. I have been to Tombstone and watched the re-enactment that's done at the gunfight site and it is one of the most inaccurate, ridiculous versions I have ever seen. I understand that it's for "show" and entertainment but one would think that they would want it to be as accurate as possible being in Tombstone.

    If your going to walk the streets of Tombstone your in for a hike since todays Tombstone is not the original site of Tombstone, but a tourist destination with a couple of original buildings that were moved to new location. I was terribly disappointed when I was working in SW NM and planned a visit to Tombstone until coworkers told me it wasnt the original site.

    No Sir ! I was there in 1994 and The Saloon has been remodeled. Everything appears to be like Disneyland now. When I was there Everything looked rustic and antiquated

      @@Desert.Sky.Adventures Big Nose Kate Saloon looks like Disneyland. It was very rustic back in the day. The owner should try to restore the old look and atmosphere. I went to Tombstone frequently for the old wild west atmosphere
