Having declared my dissatisfaction with this sharpener last night ruclips.net/user/postUgkxDcr-y2Pf6xdnrFHrSP7dl9kpKaCozcSQ I thought about the problem some more. It occurred to me that I might be undoing each attempt at achieving a sharp edge by the repeated attempts. So, I tried to clean up the unsatisfactory result by honing with only positions 3 and 4.Miracle!! A really nicely sharpened chef's knife, more than enough to handle my needs. Admittedly, it did not reach professionally sharpened razor-fineness, but it is now significantly sharper than it was. A bout of breaking down carrots convinced me. So, major apologies to the manufacturer, Amazon, and all happy and potential owners! Follow the directions: don't buy it if you have ceramic blades; and don't overwork your knife blade.
Great vid bro. People are afraid of serrated. And they say, it's not useful. I have cut a seat belt, on an upside-down car, on fire. Serrated, made a fast job of it. Like you showed. It's not that hard, to sharpen. And don't tell, a boat men. Or a diver, serrated is no-good. Thank you, for your video.
You sir, are a pleasure to watch! Thank you for sharing your knowledge & wonderfully presented method with viewers! I’ll definitely try to follow your instructions and hopefully succeed in sharpening my Victorinox Steak & Tomato serrated knives from what I’ve learnt today. Thank you again! 😊
I have serrated blades on some kitchen knives, but not on any others that I use regularly. This is an excellent tutorial, easy to understand and follow. Thanks Felix for all you do. Bravo
i have avoided serrated blades mostly because of the problem with resharpening them. Now i am looking for an old used blade to try your technique on! Thanks for the very good instruction and another great video.
The only serrated blade I have on a SAK is the gutting blade on the Victorinox Hunter (not the Huntsman). Because of the rounded tip, I really like that blade. Very useful.
Dear Felix, I think I've been waiting for this video for more than 10 years! :D Will sharpen my soldier's knife in the right way finally. Never regretted that I subscribed to your channel. Thanks for your positiveness and please keep doing the great job!
Great video! Very informative! I’ve used serrated knives for years and though they may be difficult to resharpen I feel it worth the extended sharp life of the blade. This is especially true when cutting lots of fibrous material like rope and banding materials.
That was really informative, you're a very clever man! And you also play the homemade alp horn with your father, that is just so wonderful. Thank you for this one, yet another piece of how to make life easier. Cheers!
Great idea, and very simple, all I have to do is make the right size stick for my knife and keep it with my conical sharpener. I love how you used the tool on the back of the knife for holding the angle!
Excellent tips on getting the correct angle, thank you! I have just three serrated Victorinox blades, and have struggled to keep them as sharp as the straight edge blades. I’m looking forward to your video on that cool angle finder. 👍

Prima Video! Sie haben Genauigkeiten erwähnt auf die ich nie beachtet hätte. Ich kann immer etwas lernen von ihren Videos. Sehr vielen Dank, Herr Immler!
For fibrous materials serrated edges take the cake! On condition you have the proper sharpening tool with you, I favor a serrated edge vs. a plain one for edc. As far as a defensive purpose is concerned, serrated edges will create a much more devastating cut vs. a plain edge (all other things being equal). Nice presentation by the way!

What a great video. Thanks a lot for this awesome tip for sharpening my new soldier, one of my favorites Pocket knives for every day carry... Really greatful.
Hi Felix, 😊 this is a simple trick that we can all use, my answer to the problem is not buying a serrated penknife in the first place, ha, ha, Seriously though I have owned one but found it restricting in daily use, so only use plain edges now. Thanks for another interesting video my friend, stay safe, best wishe's to you and your's, Stuart UK.
What a performance! No way, Jose! I'm done with serrated knives! They are just far too much finicky work to sharpen. It's just so much easier to sharpen a straight edge occasionally and have done with it. It is also much nicer to cut with a sharp straight edge, especially a medium done Ribeye steak! It just seems to taste better! ;-) 🤣

Another great video Felix. I use the Lansky Blade Medic that you showed, for my serrated blades. It works ok but I will definitely give your technique a try…it looks like it will give a more consistent result.

Excellent tutorial, Felix! I agree, serrated blades are a 'Schmerz in der Arsch' to sharpen - luckily, I don't have to do it too often, because I don't use them very much. The serrated sheepsfoot blade is easily the least-used tool on my Leatherman Rebar. But the conical diamond rod on the Lansky Blade medic is very useful for getting into those serrations - that's what I use on my bread knife, which is the only serrated blade I use regularly.
Best way i sharpned serration so far is with fine Sandpaper on a small wooden dowl that i roll up to exactly match the diameter of the serration, this is can adjuct for all the sizes of serration by rolling up the paper
