I know friend !!! It would have been very good without paint, with varnish and that's it. But I can say that with my experience I have seen that over time the varnish turns yellow and it is not enough not to corrode the steel. From there to that you have decided to paint it. By watching you rebuild a true Colnago, it is a SUPER huge help for me to build the 1:9 scale Protar Colnago Mexico 1982 G. Saronni kit. These may not be the very same, yet still answers MANY questions I had so I could super detail the 1:9 model. Thank you

That RIGHT there as an experienced builder is a HINT "Nuvouo". Since I have herd of the... Mexico Super Nuvoro Saronni As well as a version 1,2,3 and 4? And I have found there seems to be a single crimp in the top front to back bar as well as a vertical bar attachment to the pedel shaft case, You are all th professionals in this subject and before I started, to put this in car terms, I could not identify a MERCURY from a MERCEDES to a Maserati. You have provided so many small hints. I can CLEARLY see this is toward the last 2 and clearly with racing lineage. Out of curiosity, is there a certain amount of wires wrapped together in the brake, gear shift front as well as rear cable.... I might as well ask about colors, I am colorblind but can clearly see a difference from white or black cable guides. The true shame is, while the protar kits ARE close, they are NOT perfect. Several points I have found, the kit doesn't show the cloverleaf marking ground in the bottom peddle case. Nor the imprint on the top rear. supports/beams with colnago, with or without cloverleaf The picture on the Protar box Model187 Colnago Mexico 1982 world champion G. Saronni Leaves many detailing questions. Like the rear lower "fork" left chrome as well as both fork rear wheel "C" column attachment. The kit doesn't show the black adjustment screws, I suspect are for the wheels to run true? Sorry for the long reply, if you can suggest or point me in a historically correct version, I would be most grateful. Although, looking at the metal frame of the kit, not showing the single grooves in the 2 horizontal and a vertical section frame. Also missing correct color leather foot straps and no lettering for those, yes I can create decals for those to make them accurate.... Like the special marks on the rim hubs as well as the rims, both seem to be specifically marked while the shows none of that

@@dabrestauracion7404 I wanted to get back and thank you for the excellent references. Your assistance did not go unused. Right now I am cleaning up the flash off the plastic wheel spokes and hub. I considered replacing the plastic with fine metal rod, but I am doing this only to spokes I break and lose. So far only had to create 1. So today I will google search colnago mexico style tires from the race, rims spokes and hubs, 1 for colors, and 2 for extra details. You keep building the full size ones. I will keep copying it down to model size. Luckily I only ever bought 1 of these nearly all metal kits. Compared to todays plastic version, these late 1980s to early 1990s are far superior. Thanks again. I am also researching the brake and gear cables at their attachment points. Just another of those little details that your videos have already provided.
La verdad es que como una Colnago, pocas bicicletas. Solo hay que fijarse en las uniones de los tubos para darse cuenta de que esta marca está un nivel por encima del resto. To be honest this frame is more expensive than my carbon fiber one..and is Columbus steel...this is not a bike frame..is a work of art. The only thing I "hate" about old frames is that most of them are big size and I can not ride them..

@@medmad3 In this case, I used glossy black spray paint and gave it a brush and cleaned it with a degreasing solvent, which is less aggressive than a conventional cleaning solvent ; )
Yes friend !!! Soap and water to remove stripper residue. I know it can be crazy, but as long as you don't leave it too long and then dry it with pressurized air and a stretch. @@medmad3 In this case, I used glossy black spray paint and gave it a brush and cleaned it with a degreasing solvent, which is less aggressive than a conventional cleaning solvent ; )
Water on steel ?
Yes friend !!! Soap and water to remove stripper residue. I know it can be crazy, but as long as you don't leave it too long and then dry it with pressurized air and a stretch. Normalerweise schleife ich Fahrräder, obwohl ich es mit einem Abbeizmittel mit Chrom machen wollte, obwohl es wahr ist, dass es mehr Arbeit kostet. Vielen Dank für Ihren Kommentar. Eine Frage Bleichmittel bekommt Chrom nicht richtig? Ein Gruß ; )
@@dabrestauracion7404 Kein Problem hatte schon voll unter- Verchromte Rahmen" die waren tip top auch Alu kein Problem bei dieser Firma! Die sind Spezialisiert auf jede art von Ablaugen inkl.Möbel!
