For some unknown reason, BMW decided to squash the cross over pipe into an odd shape. This creates backpressure, slower exhaust gasses, and robs turbo responsiveness. This full 3 inch pipe elminates all of the oem pipe issues, and even deepens the exhaust note a bit as well. This is such an easy install, I don't know why you wouldn't do it. The ceramic coating as well just makes sense.
Required parts and tools:
Evolution Racewerks cross over pipe

Jack and jack stands, or Quickjacks (highly recommend)

Pretty sure bmw know what they were doing. They do need to meet massive requirement list to make the green people happy.
I actually feel sorry for the manufacturers these days as politicians make new rules for results that have no basis in engineering or science.
