I've had a 232 Sl for many years. It's a peach in perfect condition and it's my daily carry since I'm so short. My best shooter is a Sig P220 .45 Extremely accurate although it's heavy to carry. It's stainless also.

Best holster I have found so far for my 230 is from Urban Carry. Fits perfect really comfortable leather to wear and has a tightening bolt in it you can adjust so the gun wont fall out even upside down but no issue pulling the gun out. I have the rubber Hogue grips too. I will never sell this gun. Only issue it has is it wont load the second hollow point if clip loaded so i just use one hollow point in barrel and load fmj in the clip they never FTL.
I do have a holster from Urban Carry. I bought it for a Kimber 380 Micro, not for my P2320 or P232, but still very nice. Thanks sharing and thanks for watching. If you haven't already, I hope you'll check out my other "Mick Mac" Tabletop Review videos on RUclips.
Good review. I prefer them to the Walthers because they’re lighter; they don’t have a steel rear grip strap; the de-cocker is in a better position and they’re usually in very good condition.
Thanks for watching and thanks for the positive comment. I might add to what you point out that the P230 is just overall operationally smoother and a higher quality firearm in my opinion. The blued P232 has an aluminum frame and is only 18oz. It’s pretty light. Not sure how heavy the blued 230s are? You can put hogue wrap around grips on them and cover the steel strap. I love where the decocker is on my P232 and p230. Just my opinion but Sig took Walther’s design and improved on it.
I owned Sig p230, 232 and ppks I choose P230&232 all day long, much better than ppk, beautiful and very well made pistol, Sig announced the release of P232 few years ago in 22lr but unfortunately they didn’t follow through If they did, that would be a great 22 piece Thanks for another great review

I have the same gun, P230SL, bought new in 1984. It later got stolen from me during a burglary and during a drug sweep, the burglar was found with my loaded gun, resulting in his being charged for my break-in! Mine is also stamped, "Made in W Germany." On the opposite side: "SIGARMS INC. Herndon - VA 9 mm kurz" [which means .380]. Great gun!

I have a blued Sig P232 I bought back in 2008. I took those awful Sig plastic grips off and replaced with beautiful Hogue checkered rosewood grips. BTW, at the time, Sig made a nice paddle holster for the 232 which also has an attached well to carry an extra magazine which is a cool feature for a quick reload.

Fair warning to all who own this beautiful pistol: the take-down lever on the left side is a known failure point. The lever is merely press fitted to the pin that rotates the slide block. The lever can essentially loosen slightly, and when you turn it downward, it will not fully lower the slide block inside the frame. This will prevent you from being able to lift the slide up and off the frame. You will know you have this problem when A) you can't seem to get the slide off even though the lever is all the way down and B) the take-down lever will not fully return to its up position parallel to the slide. Sig has not always been super helpful in fixing this unless you can prove you are the original owner. I fixed it on my P232 by forcing the lever back up to its closed position (parallel to the slide), then carefully using a center punch to punch a deep dimple into the exact center of the take-down lever pin. This moves just enough metal to cause the pin to expand into the lever to better secure it. It's not a perfect solution, but it is a solution. I love my P232!

Great question. That would depend. Am I wearing a Tux? Then it would have to be the P230. @@mickmacstabletopreviews8466 very political and correct answer. I bought the little lady a 230sl cause I always wanted one, haha. But the question now is, get a blue west German to match the silver, or a 239 to fill the collection? And they do get carried.
Hello to you Sir, Just found you and really enjoyed your clip on this yes Eligant historic firearm. You have helped me immensely at the moment, seeing how I received a phone from an old friend looking to sell his beautiful 230. We are in discussions and I do believe I am going to make the deal. I really, really wanted these pistols, so I overpaid. Bidding was fierce on both. The 230SL went for $700. The problem with the 232SL was that it was a package deal including lots of ammo (at a time when ammo was hard to find) and included a bunch of magazines, new Tritium night sites and CT Laser Grips (scarce back then and impossible to find today) which made the bidding just plain outrageous! In the end I paid out $1,300 in total. Excluding the laser grips and ammo, I estimate I probably paid at least $850 for the pistol itself. In the end, I still feel I did well, because the 232SL has been my everyday carry weapon since 2021. An absolutely superb firearm! And with the CT Laser grips - it's priceless! Thanks for watching. The P-10 C is indeed a fairly popular pistol. As you know, it was the Czech Republic's 2017 answer to the venerable Glock 19. Priced at about $400 US, it remains very competitive. It does. The reuniting of East Germany and West Germany into the country of Germany took place in 1990. The SIG Sauer P230 was manufactured in West Germany from 1977 through 1996. But after the 1990 reunification, the W for west Germany was dropped. Therefore the SIG P230 you saw (or at least its slide) was made sometime after 1990. Thanks for taking the time to comment. Today, I carry the SIG P232-S, but basically just an updated version of the 230. See ruclips.net/video/x2iGhf5N7bw/видео.html For everyday carry, I load with Hornady Critical Defense rounds. For range work, I'll fire at least a mag of the same, but basically I'll shoot whatever I have that's cheaper in another three or more magazines just for practice. Thanks for watching. There's quite a bit out there on this question and opinions differ, but (IMO) it would seem that the stainless steel P230 SL and P232 SL are quite robustly built and should easily withstand the occasional use of +P rounds. Personally, my everyday carry is a SIG P232 SL which I load with Hornady Critical Defense rounds for carry purposes, but +P Buffalo Bore Ammo would certainly be another option. However, my range training ammo is less expensive regular 380 ammo. Thanks for the question and thanks for watching. If you haven't already, I hope you'll check out my other "Mick Mac" Tabletop Review videos on RUclips.
it is of course OPINION. There are fortunately tons of great guns. Used guns, there is little discount from new. You, on gun broker are billed shipping, get hit for an ffl fee, and a charge for credit card use. People often forget.and like a buyer premium tend to bid more than they realize. What is important is the REAL total cost. This particular gun is discontinued so if you want it you must buy used.
All true. Good ones are also becoming harder to find as well which means people are paying more, so prices continue to go up. The SIG P230 and P232 are great guns, but at these prices -- and as you point out -- add in the real acquisition fees and they are being priced beyond many of our reach. Too bad. It would be nice to see both sides of the gun equally, Staring at one side of the gun for over 15 mins isn't great visual reference. Nice firearm though.

I ended up paying almost $700 at auction, but I also had shipping and FFL transfer fees, so closer to $750 when the dust settled away. Given that the P230SL sold for about $460 in 1996 (or about $767 in today’s dollars), I wouldn't say I got a bargain, but it wasn't horrible either. I like this gun so I'm glad I got it even though I've come to really like the SIG P232 better. ruclips.net/video/x2iGhf5N7bw/видео.html Thanks for watching and thanks for the question. Interesting. I have both and I'd have to take the P232 with its firing pin block and three-dot milled-in front and adjustable rear sights over the P230, but it's indeed a very close call. Heel European Ruger 22 pistol? Europe pistol is usually one magazine is enough. When more firepower needed take smg oer rifle. and magazines are not one time use only,, ..like USA style empty mag dropped at the field fresh supply of new ones.at the base waiting.. So nco or officer is well equipped with one or two spare mags.
True, it's not a 96. I figured that out after the video was posted. However, the year date is not reflected in numbers but rather letters. The date stamped code of "KE" translates to "94" on this "Made in W. Germany" SIG P230SL. Heckler and Koch, Walther, and SIG Sauer all used a similar date code format. Thanks for the feedback and for watching and taking the time to comment. If you haven't already, I hope you'll check out my other "Mick Mac" Tabletop Review videos on RUclips.
Not sure what you are looking at but from the very beginning of this video, the pistol featured here shows P230SL on its slide. If there where any questions, a close-up at 6:06 clearly identifies it as a 230 and furthermore, the slanted narrow slide serrations are indicative of the 230. Not much in difference have both 239 in 357sig is nice
Hello to you Sir,
Just found you and really enjoyed your clip on this yes Eligant historic firearm. You have helped me immensely at the moment, seeing how I received a phone from an old friend looking to sell his beautiful 230. We are in discussions and I do believe I am going to make the deal. I agree with you they are heavy, compared to you beautiful Kimber Models, but it’s all in the mind I think. I have submitted to you I fine you calm and helpful.
Be well
You are very welcomed. Thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching. Yes, the SIG P230 or P232 would be an excellent choice for everyday carry, in my opinion. HOW MUCH DID YOU PAY AT THE AUCTION AND WHAT DID THE P232 GO FOR? THANKS
Ottime recisioni davvero molto dettagliate, mi farebbe la cortesia di farne una sulla Czp10c. Mi farebbe piacere conoscere le sue opinioni. Grazie
Translation = "Excellent very detailed recutions, I would do the courtesy to make one on the Czp10c. I would like to know your opinions. Thank you."
Response = You are very welcome. The P-10 C is indeed a fairly popular pistol. As you know, it was the Czech Republic's 2017 answer to the venerable Glock 19. Priced at about $400 US, it remains very competitive. I would certainly encourage a review of the CZ P-10c. Thanks for the feedback and thanks for watching. Siete i benvenuti. I cam across a P230 SL and it's stamped 'MADE IN GERMANY' without the 'W' designation. does that have significance?
What ammo do you run through your 230?
Today, I carry the SIG P232-S, but basically just an updated version of the 230. See ruclips.net/video/x2iGhf5N7bw/видео.html
For everyday carry, I load with Hornady Critical Defense rounds. For range work, I'll fire at least a mag of the same, but basically I'll shoot whatever I have that's cheaper in another three or more magazines just for practice. Thanks for watching. Does anyone know where I can find a Crimson Trace grip laser for Sig Sauer P230? Thanks in advance for any guidance.

Will it handle +p ammo?
There's quite a bit out there on this question and opinions differ, but (IMO) it would seem that the stainless steel P230 SL and P232 SL are quite robustly built and should easily withstand the occasional use of +P rounds. Personally, my everyday carry is a SIG P232 SL which I load with Hornady Critical Defense rounds for carry purposes, but +P Buffalo Bore Ammo would certainly be another option. However, my range training ammo is less expensive regular 380 ammo. Thanks for the question and thanks for watching. it is of course OPINION.
Sorry. I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to respond. Don't forget to like, share and subscribe. If you haven't already, I hope you'll check out my other "Mick Mac" Tabletop Review videos on RUclips.
So what did you pay?
I ended up paying almost $700 at auction, but I also had shipping and FFL transfer fees, so closer to $750 when the dust settled away. Given that the P230SL sold for about $460 in 1996 (or about $767 in today’s dollars), I wouldn't say I got a bargain, but it wasn't horrible either. I like this gun so I'm glad I got it even though I've come to really like the SIG P232 better. ruclips.net/video/x2iGhf5N7bw/видео.html Thanks for watching and thanks for the question. I bought mine in ‘94, think I paid $400.00. It got stolen during a break in, I wish I was there.
@@mickmacstabletopreviews8466 i have the P232SL. It was posted on a local shops Facebook a few months ago and I ended getting it for $450. It was missing the original case and owners manuals but I felt like it was still a bargain.
Imho, the 230 is better than the 232. The 232 has a rebounding hammer, which i dont like the feel of. The 232 sights are a bit better.
Interesting. I have both and I'd have to take the P232 with its firing pin block and three-dot milled-in front and adjustable rear sights over the P230, but it's indeed a very close call. I love them both. I am in the middle of a review on the P232. It should be posted in a couple of weeks.

🤣😂 "The 1910 film, Hit Girl". 😂🤣 - I thought these weren't made until 1977.

Me gusta mucho su canal... tengo una Sig Sauer P230 SL y necesito el Spring del gatillo ( I need the trigger spring)... si alguien puede ayudarme se lo agradecería (I appreciate if somebody can help me)
Thanks for the compliment. Always appreciated. Thanks for watching. With regards to a trigger spring for the P230 SL, I see that Numrich has them out of stock at the moment. The other option is eBay. Good hunting.

Again, thanks for the comments.
That is not a 96 it must be pre 94 with non rebound hammer. The should be a two digit number on the right side that will reveal the date.
@@mickmacstabletopreviews8466 yep thanks for the correction
Also between 94-96 the P230 started to get P232 features before it was discontinued.
No worries. ;-)
Interesting. Thanks.
Thats a 232 says right on the slide
Not sure what you are looking at but from the very beginning of this video, the pistol featured here shows P230SL on its slide. If there where any questions, a close-up at 6:06 clearly identifies it as a 230 and furthermore, the slanted narrow slide serrations are indicative of the 230. By the way, you can check out the specific details of the SIG P232 at ruclips.net/video/x2iGhf5N7bw/видео.html Nonetheless, thanks for watching. PPK../S is USA only gun 1968 import ban model, . not Orig PPK,!
.230 and 232 are Sauer 38H not Walther.. heritage,, and HsC Mauser was 3,rd not to bre confused these 3, excellent 1930's German small handgund's

For the money, I rather go with the Walther PPK.
Understood. A few others have expressed that same. For one thing, the PPK is still being produced and is well supported. It's also fairly affordable compared to the P230. But you as you can see from my review and the reasons I noted, my preference is for the later SIG P232. ruclips.net/video/x2iGhf5N7bw/видео.html
