Fun fact: This is actually an idea the original team had for the original Final Fantasy VII, Nomura wanted Tifa to be naked at some point but both ideas were scratched. Regarding the wound, it didn't make much sense that she got hit on the chest and had a wound on her back. I'm glad they brought the idea back for Rebirth.

2:19 What Scar?
In the book Final Fantasy 7 Two Pasts, that came out after Remake Tifa had skin graphs to avoid scaring. The doctor made sure she wouldn't have a scar. So Sephiroth might be right. She "shows"it to him twice and he still questions it. She shows him underboob and he gets nervous and looks away. If the book is canon there might be way more to this scene.
The title and thumbnail gets you excited, but the story is what makes me stay. It is interesting to see how their relationship is challenged, and how it will be resolved in the end. Ngl, when she said “I was happy to see you again, but maybe I shouldn’t have”, that broke my heart. 😢
Broke mine too. The head down and her going back to her room. I felt so bad. 😭😭
He's not shy. He's uncomfortable. They both have horrible memories around that scar. There isn't anything romantic or sexual about it to make someone 'shy'.

Seph is a tragic character who was misinformed his entire life and was brought up by the psycho Hojo. He had no chance to figure out the truth. He had no parents, no childhood, no friends really. No real home. His entire worth came from how useful he was as an experiment, a glorified Shinra tool, a ‘Hero’ to the people on the outside, as long as he obeyed orders. His own ‘friend’ (Genesis) betrayed him out of envy and led him to believe that he was indeed a monster, a perfect one at that. He was bound to fall. He had no one and that’s what screwed him up internally
I def wanna see good guy Seph and that Nibelheim flashback where we catch a glimpse of his more softer side is redeeming enough to realize that he wasn’t always a bad person and I love that for him

They needed to explain tifa from the book ToTP, she says it here how many days she was operated on. Tifa was in such bad shape zangan had to keep casting cure on her over and over again the whole trip to find a doctor, he also ended his career as a master because of that ordeal, so can you imagine the condition tifa was left in?
Ofc they cannot show us all of this until 3rd game when she repairs clouds mind. I hope they also explain tifas side because she deserves none of the hate, it's strictly due to bad delivery.
In the book tifa also got sexually exploited, she has a dark past, you hear her mention it very rushed in remake and this game because she does not want to put her burdens on others. for her to show her scar to cloud is extremely vulnerable for her character. I think thats why she cries and runs off here too. She has been through incredible trauma as well.
Shes trying her hardest to figure out her own memories and HELP cloud at the same time. Remember she is written as a self sacrificing heroine to help the hero out until the end.

It's also because she knows that Cloud is lying about the past but really can't say anything. It's basically frustration that he doesn't know the whole truth about the past (which part 3 will expand upon). When she says where were you five years ago I knew she badly wanted to say 7. She really felt heartbroken, but I'm glad they made amends later on

It's not like Dr Oranye took pics of Tifa exposed breasts while she was unconscious, Tifa agreed to ler her chest be photographed to keep record of the healing process, but she was reluctant to have her naked chest on display for a lot of unknown researchers.
It's just that she felt she was in debt with the clinic, besides, Dr. Oranye never took Tifa's face in the frame.

Can we take a moment to appreciate the fact that Tifa flashing Cloud is now an important plot point?
Why does he say “You know I can’t tell you that” as if he even remembers. Or does he remember he was experimented on by Hojo? Or does he think he was doing Soldier stuff?
To be fair he isn't lying, just his phrasing makes it seem abrasive.
From what I understood playing Crisis Core his memories got jumbled up with things Zack did/talked about on the journey back to Midgard after they broke out of Hojo's lab.

Nah. It's right at the bottom of her top. You see exactly where in the flashback. They just didn't want to animate the clothing! Nothing naughty is happening here.

Where is the scar specifically?
Probably lower part of the sternum. Just below the breast area. She didn't bring her shirt up very far so I'd imagine it's just under the breast while not exposing them.
Why couldn’t we see it?
If i recall right its at the base of her rib cage cutting up to her breast.

I think it's more likely embarrassment and guilt for doubting on her than disgust. I'm sure he saw a lot of scars like that in his years of service as a *soldier.

Nevertheless, regarding his doubts, i think that Sephiroth will be continuing planting more dounts to Cloud about Tifa, to slowly turn him against her, as part from some scheme.

All that fcked up shit where he spazzes out and sees hallucinations or whatever of Sephiroth happens to him because of Hojo later on when he is discovered at the Nibel reactor alongside Zack
Hojo experimented on him and Zack for like 4 years, exposed them to heavy Mako which led to Cloud being poisoned. Hojo ALSO implanted s-cells in Cloud and Zack (basically Sephiroth mutated Jenova cells) not only out of revenge for what happened to Sephiroth (not that he cared for him but that he was his perfect creation/monster) but also to test out his reunion theory. It’s WHY Cloud can be manipulated by Sephiroth in the first place because of the s-cells inside of him. It just didn’t affect Zack because he already went through a similar implantation in SOLIDER as he was always qualified because of his strong mind. Cloud may have left for Midgar, but he was just an infantryman in Shinra’s army never a part of SOLIDER or a SOLIDER period. He just basically thinks he’s Zack because Zack is who he failed to become
I thought Dr. Oranye erased Tifa's scar with sintetic skin grafts (Traces of two pasts novel) ... what is going on ?
That doesn't mean the scar goes away. The wound was bad enough he had to do that to close up her flesh
@@MrInuhanyou123 Well, the novel doesn't say whether the scar is still visibile or not. Dr. Oranye (she is a woman medic btw) said Tifa wouldn't notice any signs of wounds once healed.
Retcon obviously. The whole novel thing was done to cover up a plot hole but now we've got full circle

The OG game explains how Tifa were saved and began living in Midgar, it didn't go into details and we never knew if she had any scar, but she logically should have had one. The novel said she was healed and had her scars erased, so there are no plot holes. If nothing else, Rebirth is a retcon, not the novel.
What happened to Tifa?
If you played the Original game you would know that Tifa was Stabbed by Sephiroth in the Reactor in their hometown. This is the scar she is referencing.....
It's also a neat callback to Dr Gast's tapes. When Dr. Gast was interviewing Aerith's mother, Ifalna, she told him that Jenova had the ability to mimic the loved ones of her victims in order to infect abs enslave them. Sephiroth is planting doubt in Cloud's mind by implying Tifa should be dead and so the Tifa he sees is probably Jenova stalking him.
These scriptwriters were cooking because Jenova being able to mimic Tifa doesn't happen until way later and Tifa's scar Isn't referenced once in the original game.

@@Ami-vh7sr I'm not familiar with the original game asides from some of the major plot twists, but is Tifa getting stabbed what happened when she tried to attack Sephiroth with the Masamune?
@@JohnPerry27 In the Original Game Tifa served as Sephiroth's Guide, as she knew well the area around her town and the Reactor. When Sephiroth went nuts and decided to try and release Jenova Many people tried to stop him and Tifa was one of them.

Sephiroth is literally messing with his head like… HE REALLY IS IN HIS HEAD. So I don’t understand comments like this as if you hadn’t play the original :/ ofc you are free to like or dislike any character but idk man.. if the mc was zack (which is a character i really like too) the story would be like any other shounen.. but half of the magic of og ff7 (for me) is cloud’s mental state and how he overcomes the issues both internal and external

No character growth that makes him a little bit more confident that while he could still be cautious, the worst thing he could do is push Tifa (someone he apparently cares for) away. Like come on man, he’s going to be an old man and still act the same? and its not like Zach didn’t have his down moments either or wasnt fumbling in the dark, but it didn’t set him back to zero.
Also though I said it’s difficult to like Cloud, I never said I didn’t like him. He could at the very least tell Tifa an inkling of what going on. That his head is fighting against him, that hes seeing Sephiroth and that he just can’t balance himself. That way theres no misunderstanding.

I think her voice is perfectly fine, she sounds mature for her age but that's the kind of character she is, after all. A 20 years old young woman forced by harsh events to grow up and become an adult in the span of just a few years.
