The Comanche might be the best sounding guitar I've ever heard, and I'm a died-in-the-wool LP guy. I'm crushing on this thing. Every time I hear it, I start G.A.S.ing REALLY bad.
I have a legacy with a Duncan in the bridge. Love the option of having the humbucker for extra bite. I just gotta know. Can I get any dbl coil bite from the z coil pickups? I’m weighing out options for another g&l guitar
@@friedkin71I never played one but I would think not it’s just a single coil, kind of. The bass slugs are wired separately and so are the treble slugs then they are wired in parallel to each other . Parallel is always less than half of your weakest coil even if they were in series it’s like two baby pickups added together. Humbucker is 2 single coils added together they are in series.
Don Carr does the best demos of anything, guitars, foot pedals, amps. To the point, no dumb jokes and very thorough. Well done and great playing that shows what the guitar can do. I have many Comanches and I love them all.
I love how at the 3:43 mark you can hear how well the guitar cleans up with just the volume knob! I have one of these and every time I pick it up in shocked by it's versitllity.
@@bassprofishe1549these guitars came out about 1988, three years before his death, so he definitely did design it. The original body was a very slightly altered Strat body. G&L eventually put it into a Strat body but everything else is exactly the same.
I have this guitar and it’s amazing. G&l if you know you know! One of the best made and best sounding guitars I own so glad I ordered one and shout outs to Ben from sweetwater
Listen at 3:43 how it's got that p90 growl in the bridge, and then just switching to the neck and rolling the vol off, it turns into a 50s warm strat. Leo Fender was a freaking GENIUS!
I like the new colours of the Fullerton Deluxe Comanche because the natural one just didnt do it for me so thats why I bought the tribute version. Even that has an issue though. The one I bought was supposed to be Olympic White but its more a butter yellow colour. I might have to just trade my Tribute Comanche in. I did notice they havent changed the knobs which still say tone though even if they are bass & trebble controls.
Hello, Wesley! There may be some restrictions on shipping certain gear internationally, but we'd be glad to look into it for you. When you have a moment, please give us a call at (800) 222-4700 or email us at sales@sweetwater.com. Thank you for the message!
@@ALEX_STRUCK Ok disclaimer, I own six G&L's/ Just so you know I do have a bit of bias. Why so expensive? A couple of things. 1) this is the cheapest of the USA range so you probable do not want to look at the option order stuff, or the custom shop or the CLF Research stuff. Those are pricy! 2) It is what you get for your money. While these are the 'budget' USA'a ( There is a tribute line made in Indonesia, I have one of these. like comparing any other import model to a USA, no comparison ) IMO they are closer to Fender custom shop stuff than anything else. The next step up is option order, these are fender custom shop level or nicer for half the price. Then there is the legit custom shop and CLF research ( which is a subset of models made in the custom shop) They are about as good as anyone makes. So really 'expensive' become a relative term. Is it a lot out of your pocket? Yes. Is it money well spent? Only you can decide, but one way to think of it is a custom shop fender for half the price. For a lot of folks that is a positive selling point for others not so much. More mileage will vary.
🎸 Thanks for checking out the G&L Fullerton Deluxe Comanche! Which pickup settings would you rock?
Neck/Bridge using the push/pull pot is fantastic on these, very smooth!
I think the middle pickup setting is my favorite, you could get a lot accomplished with that setting.
The bridge pickup is so much better than the strat!
I see myself with 2&4, but playing around with the switching might prove fun
All three on my spring 2004 Comanche (with one piece 5A bird's eye maple neck). Screams and roars...

Glad Sweetwater finally took my advice and added G&L! 😂
Good job, the world needs more G&L
Such under-rated guitars. Jonathan Koh has a couple of great videos with his.
Great demo. Don pulled some great tones out of those pickups.
wow what a beautiful bunch of tones - love it!
It sounds as sweet as it looks!
I’m not a Strat guy but, Leo got these guitars right.

It's awesome! 🤘
This is the best model Leo ever built.
These are post Leo, for sure one of G&Ls best models though.
@@bassprofishe1549 didn't he design it?
@@bassprofishe1549 This is Leo's final design,.

@@bassprofishe1549100% Leo Fender guitar.
I would buy that in a heartbeat if I could afford it! I've always wanted a G&L
They also have a Tribute series model of the Comanche!
@@CrowderMusic awesome! I'll have to look into those
I picked up a used Comanche tribute for $350 with case. I like it better than my USA Strat. Best built and most versatile guitar I own.
Me too buddy. Me too. That color too.
Did you get one yet? Indonesian models are all US parts, just put together in Indonesia
WOW that sounds fkn beautiful!
I have been wanting a Comanche for a long time. Gonna look into Sweetwater, I think this would be my do-it-all axe! Thanks for the demo!
Glad to see G&L at Sweetwater! I have 3 of them and they are amazing guitars. Better guitars for the money in my opinion!!!
I have this guitar and it’s amazing. G&l if you know you know! One of the best made and best sounding guitars I own so glad I ordered one and shout outs to Ben from sweetwater
What an excellent player and gorgeous guitar.
I have a white GL Comanche with the pull up/push down switch on the master treble
SO, these are basically P-Bass pickups for guitar?
Yep. Absolutely genius if you ask me.
Don Carr could make a frying pan sound good but the tones he gets here are just beautiful
It's the Treasure of Guitars 🎸 ✨️ 😍
Wow, its sounds fantastic
God bless Leo Fender!

SOUNDS GOOD
Wow! Can you get them in the good ole 12" radius?
get this guy to demo the other guitars too!
Love don Carr demos
better than Fender
I like this guitar, but I'm wondering if you would ever want to change the pickups, it would be a little difficult finding that shape
Obviously they’re one of a kind pickups, but the routing underneath let’s you use any pickup configuration. Just have to swap the pickguard.
If you want different pickups buy a different guitar. You buy this for what it is.
@@chrise.3814 Nope, all too often the heart rules the head where guitars are concerned.
You don't buy this guitar to change its pickups lol. Get a regular strat.

Do you guys ship internationally or have an Australian shop?

Yeah ... Strat, its been real ... but ... thank you, and goodnight.
Well guess gonna save after this.
Has more bloom than a regular strat
Why don't they have locking tuners being so expensive?
Corporate greed

George & Leo’s final solution. The High Fidelity Strat.
There is some high frequency noise from 3:43...
I heard it too. Wonder if it is a different kind of hum (not 60s cycle)
Most likely it is the amp and not the guitar.
Has the 1993 Eric Johnson hair!
Once again, I'm not happy with the color choices. I want the sunburst with a black pick guard ...
Just option order one. The will build it for you.
❤❤❤it
Kindof sounds like a Strat mixed with a Jazzmaster.
A California Mesa Boogie Tweed 🤤
How much sir?
$1,599.99
My pants are tight
If only it had a maple fretboard option..
You can get a g&l neck with any option you want, check out the website with all the different options, tons! Like a custom shop.
I can take a Hello Kitty Fisher Price guitar and make it sound great through that amp.
Mesa has now released the ultimate guitar amp - the Mark VII.
Man....this guy is old....and im 40. The industry is gonna crash lol
sounds nice but looks fugly, those pickups are weird
Nah looks awesome
