It was like that with me too. And just to mention: we're all Finns. It was a couple of days before UMK that I heard it the first time, and while I still didn't quite like it during UMK, I still knew that it would get the most attention around the world compared to the other contestants we had. The song has a strange mix of genres, which is more difficult to swallow than a regular pop song. If we compare it with Tattoo - many people probably like it from the first listening, but it might not get better every time you listen to it again. While cha cha cha has the charm to surprise your ears every time you listen to it. but yeah. It's 3am and I'm tired so I hope anyone understands what i'm trying to say xD
A lot of the time I’m sure they get the biggest nutcases for these ‘Group X Reacts to Product Y’ videos. Like you see Gen Z reacts to Deathcore (for example) or in this case Americans react to Eurovision and it’s always the cringiest plebeians on the planet. Some videos are more normal but getting numpties to say annoying things gets more people to comment correcting them than if they were more normal. More comments means the video gets promoted more means more money. Of course some are actually normal but most are just to grab attention or at least that is my theory.
I'm disapointed with this year eurovision voting, both juries and televote, but I'm better now that I've discovered that, somehow, Americans would vote worse than Europeans.
The televote didn't vote wrong.. it's just that all of us that wanted to vote for a fun, energetic song threw all our votes at Finland, which is why other fun entries like Austria did so badly. Meanwhile the juries have the ability to RANK their Top 10. If televoters had this, there would be no need for a jury!

I'm American. This embarrasses me. But tbh, I'm not surprised. I've been begging people for years to watch Eurovision and even those that seem moderately interested, just don't really care (so of course they aren't going to get most of the songs either). I remember from a few years back watching this channel that the people behind REACT would usually give the reactors some additional info and not just throw videos at them with no context. It's really frustrating to see the accusation of Finland bribing the jury not be met with a correction of what actually happened (you know, the *opposite*). It gives the impression none of the ppl behind it actually watched the FULL show and just looked up the results and played the youtube videos. Very lazy and unprofessional!
