i would guess the general argument is two fold, one hes distracted and have increasing levels of emotional and power orgasms as hes electrocuting luke, feeding off of it and useing it to augment or modify luke, he appears to be killing him but he may be also attempting to feed off him and forcibly turn him to become his apprentice still, the second reason is simpler and makes more sense, Vader is useing the force to blind, bind, attack, and help him in lifting the emperor while the emperor was distracted and focused on turning/torturing/feeding off of luke through lightning and dark side powers, we see the force at work sometimes,
but sometimes we dont, like force compel, thiers no visible trace beyond hand motion, the truth is Vader is probably useing a combination of the emperor distracted and a array of force based powers to singlehandedly bind and tie up the emperor so he cannot defend himself as hes is picked up and hurtled off a ledge, its a long fall tooo, so hey may have bound him etc with strong force powers or it may have to do with him picking up the emperor at hte right time and attacking at the right moment with the force, sort of like pushing someone down when thier bending over to pick up a heavy package, the emperor was able to leverage or defend himself in the process, i mean he was not able to, not with vader being as strong as he is physically and in willpower as well as attunement with the force
Dude. I’ve read his wookiepedia profile a while back, and my mind was blown. He was considered the master of everything: manipulation, alchemy, innovation in the force, lightsaber combat, pretty much all Force abilities including some light side abilities and politics. And on top of that he had planned his Dark Empire even before he create the Galactic Empire. He was one of the very few Sith to have accomplished destroying the Jedi order. This is why Sidious is my favorite character.

Sheev Palpatine / Darth Sidious has been one of my favorite dark sided force users for some time now. And after this video his ratings just went through the roof. I never heard of the Dark Empire or a lot of what you talk about and I look forward to finding out more about it. I will be on the lookout for those books you mentioned.
Idk how characters like Nihilus and Valkorion/Tenebrae/Vitiate don't roast this guy.
His movie feats were hot garbage, from a fight standpoint.
He seems to be taking advantage of a weak group of Jedi in this era, a lack of inside opposition due to Bane's ignorant rule, and a few other factors.
Characters who ruled as Emperor, while having multiple Sith/Darth around them, which was NOT the rule Darth Bane was trying to get rid of, shows more power imo.
He doesn't hold a candle in a fight, even if many circumstances and his manipulation as a politician allowed him a phenomenal change in the world.
Motherfu***** was planning to take on the Yuuzhan Vong Invasion no body not even vader, luke or our great lord Admiral Akbar knew about. He was pretty OP

Angry Irishman ehh it’s honestly up in the air. My honest opinion here, If the first death star hadn’t blown up and the rebellion squashed. With thrawn and tarkin in the navy and vader fucking shit up, I like to believe they would have had a long brutal, bloody war that he would win it, eventually.
The only reason why the vong war lasted as long was that the Republic didn't strike back immediatly after they were invaded, but the emipire would of. They could have had a war that lasted shorter, ending by that the vong didn't get a foothold in the galaxy

Can we just admire the lousy fact that Poe, in an outdated T-70, was able to destroy about 50 something point-defence turrets that were designed to destroy fighters.

He just uses Death Stars to prevent people from knowing his force powers
Sidious didn’t want to rule an empire of corpses, if Palpatine just walked onto a planet and killed literally everything he would be hard pressed to avoid constant rebellion which would eventually lead to him doing exactly what he didn’t want, ruling an empire of corpses, the Death Star is basically the equivalent of a Star Wars nuke, of course it’s very scaled up but so is basically everything in Star Wars.

@Darth Sidious vitiate: when he was ha kid he enslaved an entire planet consume entire population of sith (the species) plus his servant and the planet itself capable to use the force with just his thought he caused chaos on a galactic scale and he was near to consume the entire population of the SW galaxy

Sidious is a genius intellect. He’s a master manipulator, a patient manipulator, I realized when Anakin always tries denying palpatine like in the opera room, palpatine just kept coming and talking up more and more little ideas to get to Anakins head and wouldn’t give up. That’s palpatines true power, his mind.
He states his death at Endor wasn't the first time. What if he's actually being truthful and he was a previous Sith Lord?
My interpretation of that is his physical body had died previously, during the Galactic Civil War specifically, due to his incredible power in the Dark Side so he had to possess a new body.
Palpatine's dark aura explains all plot holes, bad acting and out of character actions in the prequels

@Maintenance Renegade It was easy to follow IMO, it just had terrible acting/direction.
As for Sidious's brute Force power, I suspect for two reasons. First was that working behind the scenes is how Bane's RoT lineage got to where it is, there was a quote in Dark Lord that sums it "Sith have no use for lightssbers, we only use it to mock the Jedi".
Second was that it was easier, holding power legitimately is better than not, even if a number did start to be happynlster in. Besides , if he was discovered THEN there he could use brute force. This is sort of what happened in Legends, where he was routed but came back to cause trouble.

I justed finished reading Pleguis and I find that Palpatine there it's truly on his prime, the end of the book it's magnificent, how he reveals everything to his master, there we know who really had the upper hand since the beginning

Darth Sidious I’m quite certain I saw some videos explaining that the Force only affects those within the Star Wars galaxy. Hence why if Doomslayer came into Star Wars he’d slay everyone and everything because the Force wouldn’t affect him

I think that Vitiate was second if not on par with Palpatine (Sidious≥Vitiate). The Galactic Emperor has a slight advantage over the Immortal Emperor because of raw power and devastating Force Storms. Lightsabers are not a defining factor here.
Nihilus doesn't hold a candle to either.

I can't help but think that Palpatine's conception was somehow influenced by Darth Tenebrous'(Plagueis' Master) own experiments involving the creation and utilization of maxichlorines. For him to be a living force anomaly on that level, something extra had to take place to influence his coming into being. Think about it! Darth Tenebrous used his genetically engineered maxichlorines in a bid to cheat death around the same time Palpatine was supposed to be born.
Or it could have been the force balancing out the presence of the entire Jedi order or more especially Yoda in one being. When you have Plagueis wonder if Sidious was born normally it begs several questions. It was almost like the Dark Side striked back by birthing someone as powerful as him

@@samthepianoman Sidious' force storm could destroy planets, as described in the book of the sith. So what is the point of teleportation if Sidious' could just destroy the planet? And even if he didn't use use that method, he'd know where Revan is teleporting to and simply be there before him.

8472 here. They dont need large powerful warships nor even ground troops to DESTROY a planet. Just a handful of small ships assuming the right formation and powering the right weapon systems. An even just 1 or 2 "ground troops" apparently can over take normally large and EXTREMELY dangerous super enemies like the Borg on one of their big Cube ships by themselves and wreak havoc basically unchecked
Given what we know of his power and his masters experiments (as well as a whole war based on cloning) him coming back like he did makes a ton of sense in universe. And personally is a lot easier to buy that Maul surviving all he did.

Interesting. The premise that Palpatine was the most powerful Sith, and possibly the most powerful Force-user in general, begs the obvious question: could he have solo'ed Abeloth, since she is often referred to as the most powerful Force entity?

Sidious could not have soloed Abeloth, the mortis beings aren't in the equation since they are more representations that force users. The only duo that i see could take a full power Abeloth on are Luke and Sidious, the two strongest practicioners of light and dark respectivly.

Darth Sidious is obviously the most powerful Sith. He literally was like 1/14th of the age of yoda yet was toying with yoda when it came to throwing the pods. Yoda was constantly on the defense.

So when he could influence his soldiers and battles, wouldnt that be a form of battle meditation but more refined or less intensive on the user since he never actually meditates and acts more passively

At the end? The only being more powerful than him were the Celestials, and he could still take them on if he had to at great personal cost. He had the same potential as his father, he just reached his. He mastered powers in days at the same level it took their native practioners decades to do.

In Legends, the Celestials are not Jedi. They are essentially physical manifestations of the Force. The Father, the Son and the Daughter. Each representing part of the force.
Luke becomes the most powerful mortal to use the force basically. And like his father, is powerful enough to where he actually can stand up to them.
Luke died of old age so he can't be that powerful!
And he was gravely wounded at one point
Sendriss QL was Luke's equal in close combat
Yoda died of old age, and until Luke he was the most powerful Jedi ever.
He was gravely wounded several times, since he is a human being. The last time he took a devastating wound while battling Aboleth, when he defeated her.
And Sedriss? Dark Empire was after Heir to the Empire, and Before The Jedi Acadamy Trilogy. Luke was still not anywhere near his prime yet. That did not happen until the final chapters of The Unifying Force when he let loose with his fear of becoming like his father and became one with the Force and still lived. He was easily killing Slayers, who were created to battle Jedi in groups.
Luke became so powerful at the end, that even heading into the Jedi Acadamy Trilogy they thought up of ways to remove or limit his scope in stories as he made everyone else redundant.

Hell Palpatine has crub stomped rage amped Maul somone who is above Vader( when he is rage amped), not only that but canon Palpatine is far above canon Vader and canon Vader has easily lifted milions of tons, atomized animals( to atomize somone like that you need more force than nuke wich mean Vaders TK>nuke), stomped people like Kanan who can throw 2 big asteroids( each weight 500 000 tons) hundreds of meters with their TK easily, canon Vader has tanked explosion stronger than nuke with his force shields yet he is fodder to Palpatine

Secutor wins if it can keep out of range of the Alliengence, then it could send its fighters to destroy the Alliengence. If the Alliengence gets in range of the Secutor then it's better guns would rip the Secutor to shreds.
In similar way, the Clone army was also successful because of Jedi commanders leading and influencing their forces.
I think Palpatine basically mastered the Art of battle meditation like you see in the old republic with Bastila but far more expansive in scope

Psykers wins basicaly everything the force user can do a psyker can do better (unless we are talking about the force users from legends if yes then i think is a stalemate)
Both are actually quite equal, but that depends on the Jedi or Psyker. Most Jedi make Psykers (not all) look like Padawans. You may argue that Psykers have the ability to "kill a Jedi with one look", I humbly disagree. Jedi have been shown to have a thing known as Force Absorb, Protect, Resistance, shield, etc. which will uphold against their attacks.
I think Palpatine could have done most of it even without his abilities. He said himself that one must simply dress the right way, eat at the right places, and renew his pass the galaxy opera. His true power was the ability to see what people wanted and how to use them.

Palpatine's power description sounds like Cthulu's. He was able to inject dread and fear into beings.

True asserting control was one of his BEST abilities but so also was his general abilities to read people and situations and also manipulate others and same said events.

Great episode, however as much as i love Emperor Palpatine, i think that Emperor Vitiate from the Sith Empire several Millennium before Palpatine had a force power that could pull from and deny the force from a force user. This way he could then slaughter jedi by the handfull in the many Sith and Jedi wars. I think the two Emperors might have something to say to oneanother.

Everything is DB universe is ridiculously stronger than SW universe. So I don't think that this comparison is even fair.
Beerus literally sneezes entire galaxies out of existence. And wipes out entire clusters of them just because someone in a galaxy in said cluster looked at him funny. i still think it is darth bane is the only true sith lord. he has used soul transfer time and time again up until palpatine and darth vader. any sith using the rule of two is no more than the spirit of bane and the new vessel he will use to transfer into. that is why the sith are so powerful, but this is just my opinion from what i have read.

Guy was so steeped in the dark side, his very being was dark side energy. He was the most powerful sith in history. Force lightning that can practically obliterate the target, force wormholes, essence transference when his body is destroyed, and who knows what else he can do. Palpatine WAS the dark side
If you dont consider Legends, Bane was stronger than him - in terms of brute force strenght. He just lacked a proper master... since he was the "first proper Sith" ...
