controller tip : outside the game remap the z1 and z2 to d-pad L and R - now you can use the z1 and z2 to change between arts without finagling about or getting locked in place.
This comment is one of the MOST HELPFUL comments I've ever seen on RUclips when it comes to gaming!!!. The change from having to use just one thumb to go back and forth in the Arts panel using D-Pad left and right, to using both index fingers on R1 and L1 is a literal Game Changer!!!. This was my first entry into the series and it tbh after making it through the intro and being in the city to roam and take quests i ended up becoming overwhelmed and when i attempted the side quests the monsters i had to battle always kicked my ass and i didn’t understand anything about the game especially combat. I thought combat would be basic like light attack heavy attack hold LB for specials etc etc sort of like Witcher & God of War. But the combat here is very complex tbh and it takes getting used to as i didnt like the whole auto attack and having to press buttons soon as they pop up. Im more of a Zelda / GoW / Witcher / FF7R fan of combat this game is freakin huge and seems like there is alot to do and it feels overwhelming sometimes. No matter what i do i cant find a helpful enough guide to understand the game. So sadly i got rid of it as i couldnt get into it. BUT!! for some reason i am absolutely craving a JRPG or any RPG thats not ES or Witcher as they are extremely boring to me tbh ( Not bad games ive just sunk countless hours into all the games especially those that release on everything as i am the guy that buys them on everything haha) Anyways my hunger for a RPG / JRPG has me looking at Xenoblade Chronicles DE again as well as eyeballing Bravely Default which is out next month. Im also contemplating Trials of Mana ( Demo was alot of fun) Octopath Traveler & any Final Fantasy game i have yet to play on my switch. (Holding out on FF though as i hear all of them are going to be hitting Xbox Gamepass pretty soon and its basically free as i have years of Ultimate piled up) Question what can i do if i need more info on Xenoblade Chronicles? Im really considering the game but given the bad experience i had the first time around it has me gunshy on pulling the trigger.
My top recommendation for you is to play Ghosts of Tsushima. Based on your favorites, you’ll love it. Here’s some more traditional JRPGs I think you’ll enjoy. 1. Dragon Quest XII 2. Tales of Vesperia 3. Tales of Berseria 4. Trials of Mana 5. Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana 6. Dragon Quest Heroes 2 Also think you’ll enjoy Nier Automata. Could also go with the most recent Ratchet & Clank which is active combat with a fun comic book style story that still is light hearted, For turn based try Persona 5 Royal or No Kuni Wrath of the White Witch. Ni No Kuni Revenant Kingdom plus DLCs also slaps imo. So there’s 12 games, hope you find at least one you love!

You end up figuring it out? I play nothing but jrpgs but I couldn't figure the combat out in Xenoblade 1. I don't think I've ever just put a game down bc I simply didn't understand combat. With Xenoblade 3 coming out I thought I'd try it out again bc what I did see of the game was spectacular
i'm level 60 right now, just following the main story line (dotted line on map showing where i need to go), i realized i missed so many side quests and many areas are still not explored (un-revealed on map). have not developed any significant affinity between any characters. i don't really understand the fighting system, i'm mainly just button smashing tbh. don't understand the gems at all. but still enjoying the game! i can't believe how much content they squeezed onto this little game cartridge. can you make a guide on the fighting system, developing affinity between the characters, and the gem system?
I find the game isn’t great. I find that level Grinding is dumb as hell Edit: finished the game and it took a while to appreciate the game and how to level up properly. I did like the game because the battle system being action style allowed my to play almost turn based style with character I liked In the end I thought the game was great and only in the end did I get very powerful and felt I was really dealing damage. I don’t like to use walkthroughs as I feel like it’s just someone holding my hand Playing Xenoblade 3 now because of this and it’s great 👍
Wow, strongly disagree with Tip#1 and did stop the video right there. The sidequests in XC:DE are imho the worst part of the game, the sidequests in XC2 and XC3 are much better. XC:DE shines with its main story and that should be the focus for beginners. Only do sidequests if you feel underleveled and need to "grind" a bit. Also, most sidequests do NOT earn you XP, but mostly money. You can use the money to upgrade your equipment at shops/merchants. For XP it is better to do random fights with monsters.
Agreed. I almost 100% the side quests because I hate myself and my god the boring MMO style quests got old FAST. There isn’t a single good one. Going from Xeno 1 side quests to Xeno 3 side quests is some crazy whiplash.
