As someone who knows nothing about engines never would have thought a Supra engine would fit in a bmw let alone perform and sound like that… my jaw dropped
Would that gearbox be suitable for a daily driver. Been thinking about putting it in my e46 m3 but my main concern is the noise. I like to hear the gearbox whine, but when im just cruising around town or in my neighborhood I don’t want to be uncomfortable while driving. Plus, im going to have all the original seas deadining stuff in the car.
Well sequentials are usually rated for 1,000hp so I don’t think reliability will be an issue, i think it’ll be fine. Idk about highway speeds and stuff because I know there made from drag racing. At the same time they can handle very very high speeds so idk
@@boostedrr7205gearboxes are almost never rated on power. Power is not a good indicator of the stress load on components. It's usually rated by torque which obviously has some correlation to power. Regardless each manufacturer/gearbox is different, not all sequentials/dog boxes can handle "1000hp"
@@bostoncranston517that's not flat shifting. This guy doesn't know how to drive a dog box he's using the clutch. Even without a standalone ecu a clutchless shift can be done manually by foot.

It’s probably intentional. That handbrake tells me this is a drift car, so likely it doesn’t need a long final drive. Also with the way he’s driving I’m gonna guess they’re still setting the car up, so that could be changed in the future

Yes its fine however the dog gears make a super loud whining sound, which I wouldnt want at highway speeds for a daily...

it's not automatic,it's sequential gearbox with steering wheel air shifter.
