    how fast are you trolling for them and what is the most productive time of year?

      Trolling down river using botton walkers about 1-3 mph. The slower the moving water the better. Basically you’re just using the trolling motor to enable steering. Best time to fish them are Springtime pre-spawn & all summer long post-spawn. I like pre-spawn Springtime because they are hungry and the bigger ones are active feeding post winter before their spawning cycle. Best time of day is any low light part of day, first 2 hours, and last 2 hours of day. However, they will strike all day long on overcast days.
