Seems like a whole lot of operator error.

This has to be the funniest video I have ever seen. Sir I truly believe you have no clue of what you're doing. I would never want you to handle any of my equipment the way you handle your own equipment. First off I only have the version two and I've never had any of the problems that you're talking about. I can understand why the monopod does not lock in place when it's leaning over. For one the weight of the camera alone with it tilted would cause it to fall over anyway. If you need it to tilt then you need to get a tripod. And honestly you never gave a true review of how it work. And reading the directions probably would have helped you a lot. I use my version 2 with my Canon R3 and a Canon EF400mm f/2.8 mounted and I've never had any of the issues that you're talking about. I'm sure if I did buy the version 3, I wouldn't have any issues with it either. I just think that you are using it for the wrong purpose and you want to use it as if it is a tripod. And if I were the manufacturer I would be very glad that you returned it and posted the video to show everyone how inept you really are and don't know what you're doing, it's a great video to show people what not to do with their gear.

Hi Rich, Regarding the bag size. It is my understand the the carry bag has Velcro tabs, which can be released to extend the carry bag length to accommodate the monopod with the head accessory you choose. I think you would have not encountered the problems had you taken the time to read the instructional manual. Understanding how to correctly use the product would no doubt have avoided the intense levels of frustrations you experienced. Perhaps an alternative to reading the manual, viewing some of the instructional videos provided on RUclips might assist you. Bye the way your, video does have some merits. It shows you what can happen when you don't understand the intended correct use of the product. Good Luck in the future.

A monopod is for run and gun i. Tight places, it takes the wait of your camera from your shoulder, almost like a poor man easyrig. Having a base is a bonus but cantbe used as a tripod

  • @thespankinmanc1650

Such a frustrating review to watch, heavy handed uneducated operation. Everybody else says it’s amazing but you can’t use it 😮 I wonder what the problem is 🤦🏼‍♂️

  • @antoniomorano5794

Dude, read the freakin manual on how to properly operate the monopod!

Hi Mr RichMaza, the bag has the extension for the head

  • @Deatarus51

We need a Khaby Lame video to show our friend here how to use the monopod. Companies make instruction manuals for a reason. Read them.

Do you seriously expect to walk away from a camera mounted on any monopod? The tripod bottom is just to keep it from falling over while you change out gear.

  • @WilfredFumbly

So you're angry that the pedal doesn't allow the operator to lock the stem at some inherently unstable angle? Huh?

  • @thecontagiouscajun4795

I own the Cobra 3 and it’s awesome! Sad you didn’t take the time to read the manual, not to mention simply closely looking at the monopod since it is label locked and unlocked. And the bag is clearly marked instructing you to pull the Velcro to extend the bag to accommodate a head. It seems nearly everyone else on RUclips understood how to use this monopod. Yet it escaped you. You’re clearly not stupid, but your frustration levels and anger issues are clearly getting in your way.

  • @smokey62productions99

I’m glad you didn’t take this video down because it’s the best example of “what happens when you don’t read the instructions” on RUclips

You are using the quick release system wrong. Pull down all the way. It will click lock in open position. Insert the head. Press down to snap lock. This new design allow for one hand attachment. No need to hold down with both hands

As it happens, I used the exact same Manfrotto monopod (which I really liked) for over 10 years (with a Manfrotto ball head). I purchased the iFootage Cobra3 pedal with no head, and mounted the Manfrotto ball head on it. I use the monopod as a monopod most of the time (without the minipod feet) and find it to be a great monopod (note that the little red cap from the bottom can be attached to the bottom of the monopod). I have used the mini tripod as a table top tripod (switching the head from the monopod to the minipod) and also used the monopod with the feet attached as a light stand (a way I have also used the Manfrotto in the past) with a speedlight or small strobe. A monopod with feet (whether the Manfrottos or the iFootage or any of the other monopods available with feet) are really not intended to be a tripod. To expect a monopod to be stable with a camera on it is not realistic. Oh, the bag fits with the ballhead fine. Look in the case and pay attention to the straps in it. Read the manual next time. That way you won't have the Error between device and chair that you are demonstrating.

This video is hilarious. Like one of those infomercials where the people are painful to watch. Im thinking this was meant to be more comedic relief right? I watched it through for the disclaimer at the end 😂😂

  • @Owanneke

seems to work fine with real arca swiss plates, the issue is your non-standard peak design plate...

  • @harryst5631

Good luck I hope you slowed down and worked with it and found that it's a great monopod I have owned many monopods plus the one you showed on you video nice but not as good as the ifootage

  • @cjlevinsonphotography

I own the Cobra 2 and the same ball head, with mine there is a velcro tab inside the bag that lets you extend it so a head will fit, the 3 should be the same.

  • @gabriel-mckee

"Really hard to get in" he says, as he does it smoothly, without even looking... (great video)

  • @dougfraser3295

Humorous are you. I just got mine and saw how to attach and release the plate. If you would have simply seen on the red ring you would have seen the lock/unlock and that all you had to do was push down to unlock the plate and push the plate down to lock it in place. Also, the case has an easily seen image of an actual video head (even bigger than your dinky ball head) with an arrow and the words “Push Out” to accommodate such a bulky head without having to remove it from the monopod. It’s secured in place when not needed with a strap and velcro. I am having trouble removing the 3/8” threads on the quick release plate to expose the 1/4” threads I need to attach my new Nikon 70-200mm 2.8 heavy lens to, which is why I ordered this monopod to relieve all the weight from my arms and transfer to the monopod. There are no instructions I could find in the manual for how to safely change the male threads and no youtube video I could find either so I’ve emailed iFootage support and asked them to send me thread changing instructions for the plate. In the meantime, I think this reviewer, RichMaza’s eyesight is poor & simply needs to get some glasses.
