Great video. Hi Erin, looking great as always. Miss seeing Pete, Erin, son and Dave on a regular basis.
thanks bought a cobra3
What a coincidence! I have your same wildlife photography skills.
I love how your partner sidles onto the set from the side!😂
Thats a quality review - thanks!
I roll with a Suri P424S Carbon Fibre Monopod with the Tripod feet (similar style) and a ManFrotto MVH500AH Fluid Head and whilst it is a lovely (and expensive) bit of kit it is rather overkill, wish this was on my radar as some excellent features in this for a decent price.
Those are good prices for the quality, but choices, choices! What are the advantages and disadvantages of each of the four options? Particularly, what is the benefit of carbon fibre over aluminium (note, both spelled correctly!)? The metal seems a good bit cheeper and only marginally heavier. Is there a stiffness benefit?
CF is, as you rightly say, stiffer and lighter. A good chunk of the weight comes from the tripod base - without that on the CF model is noticeably lighter. Whether that is worth the extra money is down to the priorities of the user. In a studio setting it makes more sense to go with the aluminium.
Twist locks are lighter than flip locks. Again that’s a preference thing.
