- Another ambient jam using the @ModalElectronics Cobalt8. This time using the @sourceaudioeffects Collider with the Cobalt into the @SingularSoundOfficial Aeros, into the @HologramElectronics Microcosm. Recorded the Microcosm output into Ableton, as well as Meems mic. All improvised.
The Cobalt8 patches were made the previous day using Firmware 2.0 features.

Please tell me why, despite the fact that you have Cobalt 5s, you have Cobalt 8. Do they sound so different?
Got the 5s earlier this year. After finishing our latest synthwave album, decided to try out the 8. It's similar, but has a few more features that are worth it in the long run. The keyboard is wayyyyy better, it's got 8 voices instead of 5, 3 configurable effects versus the 2 locked fx on the 5s. And it just recently got the 2.0 update that added distortion fx, vintage knob, and 30+ new filter models with pre-drive. Pretty much all the things I wanted in the synth aside from extra mod slots.

Thanks Sonic! I really dig the Aeros. Couple issues with it is the buttons are loud so I have to time the clicks inbetween Meems vocal lines 🤣 ... second issue is at times there can be randomly some audio clicks on the loop point (could be fixed via firmware soon). But aside from that, I think it's the best looper available that can do LOOOONG layered loops. You have a 10 minute buffer to work with and it's all stereo.... so nearly perfect for ambient loops.

@@TeftyMeems I had an Aeros for a while and seems like they never fix the issues.Some of the things you mentioned and others are why I no longer have it. While it is great visually, I now have a Boss RC-600. It took a lot of time and setup to get it dialed in but once you do it is much improved over the Aeros. Free form loops can be 1.5 hours long vs 10 minutes on the Aeros. Fade in and fade out envelopes, extensive customization of the switches and knobs, great quality sound. Also has some built in effects and drum Rhythms which I really don't use but it's there. Might want to have a look. Great performance by the way.

@@TeftyMeems thanks a lot. That makes sense. I did a similar thing getting the MPC X after the MPC Live 2. Definitely worth it but I’ll never part with the Live 2 due to its portability. Love your channel!
