    This is my first demo of the Singular Sound Aeros Loop Studio!
    The Aeros is a looper pedal that has a TON of functions and a lot to offer, so it's easy to get overwhelmed and not know how to get started.
    If like me, you like to plug and play, you can just follow this video and learn how to intuitively start loops, record, overdub, undo/redo, mute, play the volume and use the mixer, reverse tracks, cycle through song parts and stop the loops.
    Many more demos of the Aeros Loop Studio are coming on my channel in the next months. I am truly amazed by what this pedal has to offer and it will definitely be the main looper on my board for years to come!

    Welcome to the Aeros family! Been a user for a few years and have watched the Aeros go from nice but….to very useable. Still, like most software based gear, has some sorely needed functions such as stereo panning but with track import now it’s working for me. The sound quality is fantastic.
    Hopefully Singular Sound will continue the enhancements for this very unique looper.

    I am so glad you did this video and happy to have my AEROS finally. One thing that took me a little while to figure out is how to lock a track when changing parts. Very nice introduction to the Loop Studio - thanks Antoine! I've been using mine for a couple of weeks now. I love the real time display but it's frustrating not being able to delete a track entirely and replace with a new one of a different length😥

    • @dslavin
      @dslavin Год назад

      Came here for this. Is there really no way to delete a track as of the current firmware?

    • @SoundscaperDFKM
      @SoundscaperDFKM Год назад

      @@dslavin I think the new firmware has addressed this (mostly). If you hold down the 'overdub' button the track erases the current content. The circle icon now looks like a hollow circle/doughnut. I think you can then record a new track with a new length. However, you cannot remove the track entirely, e.g. if you have five tracks and you erase the contents of track 2; you will have an empty track there - the other tracks don't move up and fill the space.

    • @mzmudy
      @mzmudy Год назад +1

      Much agreed. This is an AWESOME pedal, but the "overdub" feature does not work easily. They simply need to make a way to delete a current track entirely and re-record all the parts of that track. I would LOVE to be able to get rid of mistakes and have all the lines going by on that track disappear and be able to start that track over, including all its parts.

    • @AntoineMichaudGuitar
      @AntoineMichaudGuitar  10 месяцев назад +1

      Many things: the Aeros Loop Studio is more modern with touch screen, 6 tracks compared to max 4 on the Boomerang, ability to save and store your songs (huge upgrade!), easily accessible quantization features, more flexibility with play styles, WiFi updates and so many more things. Also, it integrates perfectly with their BeatBuddy pedal which I'll plan on adding to my setup. The Boomerang is still good for what it does, but it's starting to age. Last firmware update of the Boomerang is from 2014! Meanwhile, the Aeros keeps getting updated year after year and has active user forums. It's also more practical for me when I teach, because we see the waveforms and bars on screen, so it's more tangible. I'm usually a ''if-it's-not-broken-don't-fix-it'' kind of guy, but there were too many awesome additional features to ignore it! I would not have upgraded for 1 or 2 more features, but we're talking several improvements with this one!

    Great stuff ! So no more Boomerang ? I was thinking about buying a Boomerrang (your in depth video was brilliant), but this Aeros looks nice… I am not sure about the software stuff, I like the « simplicity » hardware of the Boomerang ! The Aeros seems more difficult for a newbie like me… I have to think about it !

    • @AntoineMichaudGuitar
      @AntoineMichaudGuitar  Год назад +1

      No more Boomerang for me! It was great for the last 10 years, but I think the Aeros is a big improvement. Yes, there is a slight learning curve with the Aeros to understand the ''inside'' setup to get things to do the behaviors you want, but the rest is actually easier than the Boomerang! On the Aeros you always see what's happening on screen: each function is clearly labelled, you see the sound waves, start and end points of loops, a progress bar for when a mute or fade is happening... and the big plus is that Singular Sound is constantly improving the pedal listening to our feedback. The last firmware of the Boomerang dates back to 2014!!! The Aeros is improved multiple times a year in comparison.
      Looping is a great part of what I do, I was long overdue for a more recent machine. I already have some other videos of the Aeros on my channel if you want to understand other functions and I will make more in the future. Thanks!

    Please do a video about advanced routing? I’m hoping some loops can be assigned to different outputs, and/or it would be nice if the looped sound and the dry were coming out different outputs, the reason I would use that functionality is for two main reasons, that way the non looped performance can be recorded separately on a multitrack recorder and also, in my case I own other loopers and would continue using those in parallel with the Aeros Looper. Alternatively it could be that the audio doesn’t flow in parallel when recording or in overdub modes but when in play the audio goes to the alternate outs, if anyone knows what options are possible and can these be set globally or per song or? Thanks for the great intro video.

    • @AntoineMichaudGuitar
      @AntoineMichaudGuitar  6 месяцев назад

      Pros of the Boomerang: easier to make a quick loop without having to go through settings. The decay function allows to decay continuously to make Frippertronic style ever-evolving pieces (although the Aeros is about to give that function in their new update). Biggest con of the Boomerang: last firmware update is from 2014. It still does the job, but is falling behind other innovative loopers out there who have way more interesting functions added.
      Pros of the Aeros: (too many to mention all) WiFi updates with continuous improvements added, internal memory to store and export tracks, more layers and song parts available, auto-quantize functions, time-signature changes, lock track feature, visual aids and cues with the touch screen and prompts on screen, and I could go on and on. Cons: some bugs can be found when making firmware updates (like the pop at loop seam people are experiencing that will get solved in a new update soon). But sometimes you have to wait a long time to get a new update for a fix, or have to go through downgrading to earlier versions yourself with a SD card. It can potentially be a hassle. The Boomerang is and always will be ready to go even though it doesn't offer 1/3 of the functions, it's still very robust and reliable.
