I was an MJ fan and attended school through Thriller and Bad and Mike was the biggest star on the planet. So, fortunately I did not have to deal with too much BS. I will say that all you fans that were there through the tough times had it harder and you are the TRUE fans that Michael adored. I love this community because I find that the fans are generally such good, kind, compassionate people. This video is an example of that... a supportive message shared with love and care. Thank you 😊
I have been a Michael Jackson fan since 1969. I remember watching the Jackson five on Ed Sullivan, and then on the soul train TV show. I was hooked than . I remember telling my mother, look mom , a young boy is singing on TV,
This was a more personal video and I enjoyed every single second. I love when you talk about loving him and why you love him. I'm so proud of you for always supporting him. I can't say the same thing about myself tho. I was a fan all throughout my childhood and everyone around me loved him as well but as I entered high school, I just got into other stuff and he was going through his own problems ( invincible era), When "you rock my world" or "one more chance" or "cry" came out, the fact that he was literally hiding his face ( or wasn't in the video) was like the end of an era to me, Martin bashit documentary, "Baby dangling" incident, Sony dispute and his speeches about Sony heads, all of this was just making me take a step back and when the trials happened it was overwhelming, then he just disappeared and I had a bad feeling like this is the last we're gonna see him. I kind of moved on. I wish I was a hardcore fan then, like I am today. But I was just not focused on him when I was in high school. Today, My real life friends don't appreciate him that much they just respect him because they know I love him but they don't really get it 😂😂 Thank God for internet because I have found the best community and best friends online. ❤

I am 14 yrs old my friends are always irritating me. They did not like mike. That's very bad time in my life. They did not know how their words are hurting😢. I will always crying at home or class😢. The social media is really help me to relief from their words ❤

Ive been a huge MJ for almost a year now and im in middle school so everyones kinda into mumble rap while im into more 80s and 90s music i get teased on for it but Michael helped me embrace that im different than everyone else. Thats why i will love him forever and thats a promise❤

As a high schooler who's just like you trust me these kids are gonna grow out of the mumble rap phase and move on. MJ will forever be known to music while these currently "popular" rappers will be forgotten in probably little over 5 years

I totally get what you’re saying! I just graduated high school, and everybody always listened to modern music. But know this that music will never have the longevity and magic that music of yesterday does. You are not the only one who loves that music, so just ignore them!!!
It really really hurts when you still find some stupid comments saying, MJ was this or he was that...it really breaks my heart to see that some people still believe in those stories after all that pain that Michael went through 💔💔💔god it really hurts .I'm a huge fan and I always try to make those kind of people believe that MJ was INNOCENT
I became an MJ fan in middle school. 12 years old and I was shock to the news of his death and when I entered the seventh grade I used to dance with the other kids to Thriller mostly all the girls.
I became a Michael Jackson fan in 1982 when I was about 12. I fell in love with him as soon as I saw him. I will always be a fan until I die. I don't care what anyone says about him but it's difficult because of the trial. Now with his death some people say "he's dead get over it". Or the looks of almost disgust from the people who think he's a molester. Now I don't care what people think!!!!! Michael is my Angel in heaven .
(THIS IS GOING TO BE A VERY LONG TEXT, sorry about it :-D)
Since I became his fan in 2013, i have been expressing my love for him in many ways! In public I wear Michael shirts as often as possible, I have many MJ pins on my backpack and in junior high school I made a in depth presentation about him too! I was really nervous about talking in front of the class but it went fine and after the presentation I showed the class the Bad short film (the short version). My classmates really enjoyed my presentation and found it interesting. The teacher liked it a lot too!
Also in music class we got a chance to request a song to listen at the start of the lesson. I chose Beat It and the teacher said "Oh, Michael Jackson! This time we must watch the video!". We hadn't watched any other videos for the songs other students had requested 😂
In junior high school I wrote many essays about Michael too, such as "Tabloid Junkie" and "The greatest singer of all time". In the essay "Tabloid Junkie" I wrote about media and how Michael was treated by it. I made clear that many rumours about him werent true. At the end of the essay I quoted the song!
The English teacher really liked my essay and understood the situation what Michael had gone through and it seemed that at least one less person believed crazy rumours about him which was great. Then the other essay was of course about Michael being the greatest singer and my inspiration and the teacher wrote back to me that Michael indeed is a great idol and rolemodel to have!
In high school I have wrote MANY more essays about him but there's so many that I cant even remember everything I wrote about 😂
In one music lesson the teacher taught us about older music styles and said ".. As everybody already knows about Michael's music were gonna listen to Jackson 5" I was happy to listen to Jackson 5 but still kinda dissapointed that we didnt listen to Michael since he obviously has other songs that arent so popular, yet are amazing. Anyways I sat in the classroom MJ pins on my backpack, wearing my MJ shirt and on my lap was a MJ magazine. 😂
I don't remember what the teacher said, commented about me being obviously a Michael fan but that led into conversation about Michael's looks changing over the years. Of course as the defensive Michael fan I took the opportinity to get the facts straight. Students were asking me things about Michael left and right, I answered them. I kept on talking about Michael, I saw that the teacher was getting irritated because the class needed to continue, but I had things to say 😂So.. it took a while but I said what was needed to said
I have SO MANY stories to tell about Michael but this comment is probably long enough 😂

When I was in middle school it was during the Justin Bieber Craze💁🏾and all the girls had Justin Bieber all over them and I had Michael 💁🏾 I was such a loner 😂
This makes me feel a bit better especially during this time. With leaving Neverland and the sexual abuse allegations it’s definitely hard to express my love for Michael at school because some people believe that he is a pedophile.

I remember when i was in high school that... some people were bothering me for being an mjfan, and i didn't feel good with that. I love how personal this video was because being a Michael fan in high school was ROUGH. I graduated in ‘05 so like you, it was in the middle of the trial. I specifically remember some kid saying something horrible to me, knowing I was a hardcore fan. Just as the words left his mouth, I pegged him with a powdered donut in front of everyone in the cafeteria. LOL. I know this wasn’t the best way to go about it (even though I feel like Michael would’ve laughed 😂) but from that point everyone knew not to insult him around me! Like you said though, being an MJ fan is truly the best. ❤️

You know what I'm super proud of myself that I became Mj's fan in mid of that 2004 media circus and guess what I didn't care I loved him so much, but what disgusted me now that ppl all of the sudden became his fans after they made him go through the hell and back!!Im sorry but I have to say this ..specially you American most of u didn't appreciate him at all maybe you guys didn't realize how huge he was outside the US and to the rest of the world, u r talking about the most famous person in this universe, ppl worshipped him! First off, wonderful video as usual! I've been a Michael Jackson fan since he's passed away and I was almost 9. I basically grew up listening to his music as many of us do. I've had a pin with his picture from the Bad era on my pencil case throughout middle school all the way into high school but I never really had any fan friends although all the friends I've had at least appreciated his work. I thankfully never really faced any bullying related to him. About 2-3 years ago I was really craving an mj t shirt so I made one myself and wore it proudly! ^^. Now that I finished high-school I got my very first official t shirt from the website which I'm in love with and I will rock all year around to express my love for Michael and maybe remind some ppl of him 😆.

I’ve been a big MJ fan since I was 4 years old and Dangerous was my first cd in 94. I did Billie Jean in the 8th grade talent show in 2004 during the heat of the 2nd accusation. Had some haters but people loved it and I felt it was my duty as a fan to keep the love alive even during a difficult time for fans. I’m proud that MJ is still a big part of my life and love to share it with new friends and young people just discovering his craft. Thanks for keeping his legacy alive and I love your channel!

I had a similar experience but when I was in elementary school! I've loved Michael since I was very young and one day our class were to go to the library and pick out a book to read and I picked a Michael Jackson book that talked about who he was and all. So many people in my class ridiculed me since this was the time of the trials. It was hard and once I went to Middle School I still loved Michael and more people were accepting since the trials finished.
To be honest, my experience of being a Michael Jackson fan in High School wasn't so bad, I know someone who believes he's guilty but he was chill about it and we're still friends, also everyone respects that I'm an MJ fan and I even know some fans of MJ that are in my class, so all-in-all, it was great
This is a great story to share especially for Back To School time. I was starting college around 2004 and there was some negative backlash when I said I was a MJ fan. The one thing I can say that does make me happy is that NOW the world recognizes his legacy after his death. I just wish MJ was still around to see how much he was LOVED.

Great video. Girl we all been through it. You have to know that if you LOVE someone you just love them . For everything. And when people come at you. You just roll your beautiful eyes and keep on walking. You are on the right side.
I love listening to your stories. You have such a great positive energy. I love it. I find it hard being a Michael Fan sometimes because of how ignorant and brainwashed some people are. But it’s definitely more than worth it though.

Michael Jackson's Legacy will live on forever with fans like you :) My experience in high school was more confined I was a quiet person so I never showed my love of MJ outside of maybe a friend group of 10 people, I was not hiding the fact the I loved MJ it just never entered my mind to tell other people as I was such a quite person. But, My friends definitely knew I was the MJ kid and was an MJ Fan and they were always nice and supportive about it which I am grateful for.
I grew up around the same time as you and I remember loving Mj all through elementary school and nobody said anything about it, I actually had a few friends that liked him too. Around middle school I started liking other artists (BSB, Spice Girls, Britney etc) and my best friend at the time kept making comments like don't tell me you still like Michael Jackson and slowly I stopped paying attention to him...until the trial. I was in high school then, and people would say things like ooo I bet you don't like him now, and I would say how I thought he was innocent and I still like him even if I'm not hugely obsessed like when I was a kid. Anyway it makes me sad that because of friends I faded away from being a big fan for sometime, because it's like I missed out on alot of years of his life. So it's cool that you've always been as big a fan as you are now. (I love the binder!) I'm also glad that I passed the MJ love on to my son who's 13 and loves him and doesn't care if anyone says anything about it.

Sometimes I get it hard, other time’s people support me. I’m in two fandoms and the MJ one can be very difficult. But I won’t stop, I love Michael and I’m not gonna change that for anyone🤷♀️
Great video & very good timing!! Back to school is very difficult for kids! encouragement is needed! Teach them to keep their likes & dislikes but at a minimum tone! Hopefully then everyone will get along!! I am almost 60 & still get teased over my love of Michael so I don't push the issue but if asked, I love to talk about it!! I remember being an MJ fan in high school (shortly after he died). While I found some friends who loved Michael, the majority of the people I went to high school with either didn't care for him or made fun of him. I remember getting made fun of when I wore my Janet Jackson Rhythm Nation Shirt. This girl at the lunch table said, "Isn't Michael and Janet the same person? That's disgusting (yes, she said that exact word)." I remember getting so hurt by that comment that I didn't speak to her again.

I was an Mj fan way before middle school and high school. I've been a fan before i was old enough for school. I'm still a Michael Jackson fan to this very day and my kids become Mj fans when they were little me and thir uncle introduced them to Michael Jackson a little bit before he passed away & when he passed away. So we are all Mj fans.

Currently in high school at the moment and so far no teasing! But I have seen people write jokes about MJ’s vitiligo in the checkout section in textbooks. And whenever it was in pencil I would always erase it.

Found this video while doing some quarantine cleaning! I was going into 8th grade when Michael passed. I was a fan of his music my entire life, but I watched every single documentary and special they aired after he passed and learned everything I could about him as a person. That’s when my love for him grew and I started to wear things to outwardly express it. I had my Bad shoulder bag I used for school, my binder had a bunch of pictures of him on it, my This is It Thriller jacket, and his music playing on my iPod between classes. I definitely got picked on for liking him. Nothing too serious, but it was definitely present. Thankfully my friends were supportive and even participated in my Michael themed 14th birthday party, but there were always those people that would just randomly “hee hee” in the halls when they saw my bag as some sort of lame attempt to get to me. I just kind of got used to it and eventually kinda rolled my eyes at it and thought like “is that supposed to make me upset? Are you amused now?”. As I got into high school thankfully it died down, but that last year of middle school was a bit trying. My love never faded though and it never will!

I had a lot of negative and disgusting comments made in secondary school because I love to dance like him they say oh "jacko" would love someone like you and atleast I don't pretend I'm Michael Jackson ... Yh school was tough. No tho let go and let God and yes I still love MJ and love to dance like him and James Brown. GOD bless u MJ fan girl and keep making videos I know if MJ was still alive he would love what your doing. ✌️
Unfirtunately, I was unaware of Michael during my early childhood. Despite my mother having grown up with him (literally a 2 year age difference) and his brothers from the beginning, she never played their music when I was growing up. She never played any of Michael's solo work, either... I wasn't aware of him until he unfortunately passed. I was in the middle of 5th grade and I know that due to future experiences that year I probably blocked some of my memories, but I vaguely remember my mom stopped and was surprised. My grandparents said they weren't surprised, they need to move on to report "real news", etc. I took it upon myself to look him up in the early days of youtube and watched Thriller on our old, block-shaped windows XP monitor. I was hooked... and I fixated HARD. I learned the dance to Thriller. I danced it religiously. I performed it for my 5th grade talent show. Heck, I even had gotten pretty good at doing his toe stand! ...But that's when the negativity, the bullying, and tbh the harassment began. Once I danced Thriller and my other classmates were learning from what I assume is their own parents and their views of Michael, I began to receive horrid comments. I was laughed at a lot... and as my classmates became aware of the trials in 2003/2004... the bullying ramped up. I even had their parents giving me weird looks and then snickering with their kids when they made hushed remarks. I was even told by a classmate as we went back to class one day that I "wasn't normal", that the only reasons that I liked Michael so much was because I was "weird like him". I was told that if I loved him and his music so much, that I must want him to come "kidnap me and r*pe me like he did to all those little boys", which is a comment that stuck with me for years. After I moved form 6th grade into 7th, I... actually stopped listening entirely. I stopped associating with anything related to him or his music. I never would speak about how I at one time loved his music, that I could dance Thriller, that I still owned an unopened pepsi can from when he passed, that I had his autobiography, the Live in Bucharest dvd, the This is It dvd, and various other dvds relating to music videos or documentaries. I never touched any of them for years after that... It wasn't until this year, 2021, when a friend of mine took me out for my birthday in July and out of nowhere turned on a whole playlist for me during our ride to the mall. Now, I had opened up a little and told her I had an MJ phase but didn't go into detail. Once she had that playlist going, it was like ripping a band-aid off. All the better memories flooded in and I just.... his music relaxed me and helped me get over my recent breakup. I found my old MJ: The Experience game and bought a used wii on ebay just to play it again (and to work out). I, now at 23, allowed the part of little 5th grade me to come out and do waht she couldn't, which was buy a Thriller Jacket... a Beat It Jacket... and Olodum shirt... the Beat It piano shirt... the picture discs of Thriller and Ba to hang on the wall (to which I then got a record player by surprise from my sister). I've embraced the fact I'm a fan of Michael's, and I no longer feel ashamed for as though I have to hide it. I feel he is innocent, and always will be. Looking back at how I felt about him all those years ago, I think I felt that way even then despite not understanding what he was accused of. I've come to feel like HIStory is my era, especially after learning I was born around the same time he released Blood on the Dancefloor. I'm glad to know there are other fans out there, than even though my initial experiences were not favorable in the slightest and that most of it I probably blocked out (I only really remember the talent show, it setting off the harassment, and the r*pe comment), I'm glad that I got to learn about Michael... his brothers.... all of it. I proudly can say that I am a Moonwalker, through and through. Nothing will shake that ever again.
I have always been Michael Jackson fan and jackson 5 fan basically the whole entire jackson family, when he was facing that trail to be honest I believe him even someone said negative things about him I believe him, he is actually the only musical artist that I know didnt lie about situation. After the years of that trail and his death everything that Michael had said was true. And I'm sure some of the people that said those things about him have come realization of MJ.

I became a mega fan AFTER he died (which is not uncommon sadly :\).. but I am not ashamed to say this. I am the biggest fan and know facts about him that many people would find strange or intense. I developed an obsession after June 25th 2009 (I was a freshman in high school) all the way until today. At some points I had to take a break because it was taking over my school life and social life. I think regardless of where you became a huge fan along this journey you are still a fan. I wish I knew of him more before his death, but as I was younger (born in '95) it was difficult for people in my generation to know what was going on.
I'm similar in that I became a huge fan after he died, I consumed every MJ thing my little hands could get. I even wore the glove around the house and just absolutely loved Thriller and I think my favorites were PYT and Rock With You. Eventually the lies about him got to me and I started to feel that he was "weird", I was young and very worried about what people would think. I kind of fell out of being a fan and it was only until after I graduated that I really rekindled that fire, now I can't get enough. I feel a bit disappointed that I wasn't into him during Middle School and High School, I really missed out on the chance to connect with other MJ fans and flaunt my love for him, lol.

heyy, how are you? On this age at 2022 I'm 15 years old and I'm in high school. Michael literally help me when I'm down. You know, some guys say negative things about Michael, and say things thats so not the truth, thats the thing Moonwalkers have to deal with every day. We (Moonwalkers) know the truth and we are so proud to be an Michael Jackson fan.

I've been a fan since I was 8 years old i used to be petted because i am a fan of michael, i always wore a mj t shirt and was really an outsider. if children wanted to meet me, it was once and never again because my room was a mj museum; ) that's actually how it went all my childhood. I am still a fan and I have taught my children to appreciate MJ's music. they will never experience such a great artist again. ps i have a very big mj tattoo on my ribs.

I was a huge Michael Jackson fan in high school but I didn't really let anybody know and I take my CD player and my CDs and listen to him on the bus and then after school and then at home and I'm still a huge Michael Jackson fan till this day the only people who knew about it was my family and some of my friends

I became a fan of michael in middle school when i was in 8th grade in 2015 when i got to high school ppl found out and they were shocked when i started singing and dancing everyone was screaming and cheering and they all asked why didn't i do talent shows and my response was i didn't want to embrass myself and when he died i was 7 i didn't understand him until i was 15 and i became a fan because my mom was sending my dad michael stuff because he is also an mj fan and i wanna meet the jackson family one day keep moonwalking

Not much at all! I feel like everything was neutral, but when he died everyone showed an outpouring of love!
