Not only do I play lefty like you,I play my strat through one of those as well. Never thought I'd see the day- now that brings a smile to my face. cheers
I bought my Vibroverb in 1975 for $99.00. People were going for the newer style amps. I have kept it all these years. No other Fender amp sounds like this. I love it. What is strange is, mine has casters. I have never seen one with casters on it.
I lent my Vibroverb to a friend and he said it was stolen.....I had know idea how rare it was. He ended up giving me a Gibson Less Paul and a small Fender amp....I still think he kept my amp for himself.
Much agreed on the 15" in that amp. I originally cut my guitar teeth on my older brother's new 1960 brownface PRO with a big 15 in it. Currently own a '66 Super Reverb that I redesigned for a 1X15 Weber 15F150 ... and I love that sound! Thanks for showing us this one ...
Some1 left a cigaret/cigar to burn and forgot about that cigaret... I know... Trust me i know... You have to see my bands amps, rigg... We are old school thank God. We do not care for that things.. + those "ugly" marks give our instruments real soul. A real musician will understand.
Have one. Has been in the family since new. Apparently came equipped with Jensen. I put a rebuilt D130F in a few years ago. Needs to be on 6 before any breakup and you WILL bleed from the ears at that or higher.
I am curious as to exactly how many were made. I have a 1964 Vibroverb, the 3rd made in January 1964. Rumor has it that the first ones were made in early 4th quarter 1963 for NAMM, that the average production rate was only around 5 per month and production ceased in the summer of 1964.
The saying goes, “If you have to ask how much it costs you probably can’t afford it”. But, if I could afford that amp I wouldn’t leave the house. Oh wait...
Another great video guys! I just picked up a '62 brown Princeton that I am going to swap the 10" speaker out of to preserve. Thinking about a Celestion Blue as a 12" replacement option. My first thought is that the blue would suit the Princeton well since it is rated at 12 watts, but I'm wondering if that would be too much mids since the brown Fender amps are closer to tweeds in nature. Open to ceramics and other brand options too! Greenback? Thoughts?
I have a '63 re-issue with 2 10s. I bought it new in 1990. I am retired and poor, but I wouldn't sell this amp for a million bucks. Really. If you ever run across one, grab it!
Not sure what pickups you're using but they're not doing this amp justice. I would try a guitar with P90's or even a Japan Yamaha with Dimarzio P100 (Killer pickups). Gibson Humbuckers are a good choice too. If you must use a single coil strat at least copper shield it and install a custom Oil Paper cap with a volume mod. A .47 would be too dark. Maybe that's what's there? Could just be the pickups themselves. These 6L6 amps are killer but it's hard to find a Strat they sound good in, unless their Dimarzio. To each his own, but this doesn't sound right to me.

His playing made me instantly pick my guitar and play, what an inspiration sound

glorious tone / great chops !
CTS speakers? I thought the best speakers for this amp was the JBL D130 speakers?

I LOVE 3:07 its Lenny with a texas country drawl. Best tone I dun ever heard online with a Strat and Verb! Well done indeed
Incredible sounding. A sauna for the ears.
Gorgeous sounding amp.
These vibro verb's amps are amazing fuk, I wish I had one!
Such an iconic sound. Killer.
Woah... tone to die for.
...SICK! Might need to call y’all on this...
Whats the signal chain? Could you share it? Tks!
somebody went to adjust the volume with a lit cigarette in hand
Hmmm, probably burned with his joint.
My dad's 64 Deluxe Reverb had a bunch of cigarette burns in the top tolex :D (was back in the 70s, not now of course!)

Awesome amp
The most scooped most melodic of the post 50s amps. Pure SRV.
"This has the original CTS speaker, which is the one you want." Interesting. I have a blackface Deluxe (not DR) with a 12" CTS. Sounds good.
A Weber AlniCo BLUE like John Bohlinger has in his, just sounds fabulous!
Would LOVE to know what pickups are in that Eric Daw/Pin-up strat!
Wow! The holy grail
Very very nice!
Great Tone.....I can't get anything out of a guitar amp with a 15, different playing styles....damn that sound great
loving my twin with a single 15, did not know fender made them but yep, 85 watts tho. takes pedals and my OX top box great tho
That amp sounds awesome... too big for my use but yeah, one of my favorite black face with the Super... The 'stache rocks too!
Is this one for sale? If so how much?
Apparently the BF 65 Custom Vibrolux Reverb is modelled after the Vibroverb?

what did he have the volume at 6?
I found this thing in the old basement... Everything works. My SuperStrat will be VERY happy. I just need to transfer it, and Im lazy...
Insane find!!!

Amazing
Always preffered 15" speakers for guitar and keyboards. My favorite is the JBL K-130.

I have one, doesn’t everyone? 😂 mine is all original, getting caps as I type this I can’t wait to play it
Yup,mine is sitting next to me , while my strat is being worked on, I can't wait to play it too :) cheers
What is a filter cap?
type of capacitor. They filter certain signal frequencies
Vibroverb👌👌
WHOA!
Guitar player set his cigarette down across the Volume and Treble knob and forgot about it.
Wait. What do you want a clean channel for, anyway?
TO play really good sounds through ...
Tonetwisters To crack ribs and draw blood, this is a good sound.
60 cycle goodness.
Can't you play with a humbucker sometimes ?
An 83 telecaster would be great through this. I wonder if anybody has tried that?
If I'm not wrong, Jeff Buckley used a similar combination while playing live. An '83 Tele with a '63 or '64 Vibroverb
@3:10-3:18 !!! papa likey...papa needs to touch....shed time.
So. Much. Spank.
jack white use it as monitor

Brite
Sounds exactly like my 66 pro reverb
Sorry but the 63 or 64 Vibroverbs are Fenders best amps hands down...
That sounds genuinely terrible. Thin and scratchy. Maybe it's better on a clean setting?
First comment yeah
Mickey Marciano First answer to the First comment yeah...(cheers from Switzerland 🇨🇭🤪)
Very nice!
