Seriously..?? How in the world does placing ceramic disk’s in the reverb signal return path equate to “more overtones?? Honestly, as amp builder I’m sincerely curious how you arrived at this. The Mallory 150 is a fine capacitor, but it’s an axial mount component which makes it an ill fit on eyelet board. Beyond that Orange Drop’s are the most period accurate for a Brownface era clone. You could argue Jupiter, but for anyone besides Morgan (who buys them in batches of over 10,000 per value) they’re priced absolutely ridiculously! Besides, If Orange Drops were good enough for Howard Dumble.. 😉
@@JasonWright-mc6dz TL;DR Class 2 ceramics add distortion (not to be confused with gain) and are generally brittle and crisp sounding as a filter compared to a more smooth mica or film cap. They were the OEM choice so many people prefer this, despite them also being a little noisier on the whole, as they sound more "vintage". They have a definite "sound" to them. I like to use one in the PI coupling cap position (0.001uf) also. As for Orange drops there's many different kinds. Different construction and dialectric.I am not a fan of how most of them sound in Fender circuits. Ironically they have similar qualities to the class 2 ceramics in that they can be a bit neutral/bright sounding. The (old yellow) M150 has a sound much more similar to the original "blue molded". In relation to Dumble, much like any custom amp building, he used what he liked the sound of in specific areas as per his vision/taste.
Hay what happened to that ceriatone amp you had. out of all the amps you have demoed. that one sound best like to see more of it just saying! would like to have one of those ceriatones my self
I sold that one. I had several. But the OTS 50 is my favorite. Just sold because of family plans. That’s all. I love that amp and would love to have another one in the future!
Really? Haha that’s interesting! It’s really a cool amp. And together with the two rock it is amazing. It’s a cool clean sound, very clear. And I love the reverb. It’s not splashy or drippy as the blackface reverb. It’s very ambience-like. Thanks for your comment man!
@@argbluesman It just sounds so real, organic/natural and raw! Two Rocks are great, I have a Classic reverb sig but still prefer my vintage fender blackface and brown face amps. They just plan work when dialed in right!
Very cool! Great work and playing that looks sweet!
Thanks a lot!
Great demo and playing!
Thank you!
Sounds damn good. Don’t change a thing.
Thanks!
Sound absolutely sweet!
Great playing and build
Thanks a lot! 🙏
That sounds amazing
Thanks!
Your best tone ever.
Thanks man!
Sounds good indeed! I'd try Mallory 150's in the tone cap positions though. Also use class 2 ceramic discs instead of micas. More overtones.

Heavenly!

Ça sonne 👍
@@guiguitelecaster thanks!
I love the one I built ,truly one of the best sounding amps I’ve built
It’s indeed really cool. I need to break in the speakers though.
I have a brown deluxe and brown Princeton and it doesn’t get better than that
Amp sounds incredible, but that Strat does too. What are the pickups/strings on it? Or what scales? You nail that sound great, dude
That’s a Miranda 61 replica. It has Klein 59s currently. And curt mangan pure nickel 10.5 strings, tuned to Eb.
Thanks for your comment!
Sounds really good.
Thanks!

Have had to do the same thing when I was younger and had a young family, I wish I had all of my old Guitars. 😪
Wow this looks like a dream to repair. It's going to last forever.
It’s not a repair. It’s a clone. From a mojotone kit. It’s really great!
@@argbluesman I see that. I'm saying, if you ever need to work on it, everything is open and laid out. Really nice!
@@lookmanostrings ooh! Sorry my bad! Yes it’s a wide chassis. Very accesible. Thanks for commenting!
Tu lo ensamblaste? Suena genial cuánto costó todo el kit? Saludos
Si, lo construí yo. Los precios están en la web de Mojotone.
