Nicely done, no silly pliers and crimps, or sleeves needed.
This rig is unbelievable ian can't thank you enough only been using it for 3 weeks had some awesome fish on this seriously wow thank-you so much i really appreciate your time and information you have put into this video It's brilliant Thank-you
Well done sir !
I’ve just started fishing again after 40+ years & have been astonished at the complexity of todays modern rigs
Yours is simplicity itself !
As the lake I fish has a max size 12 hook rule knots especially any that go through eye twice are a pain to tie
My eyes are 40 years older !!!
The single flexible loop connection to hook is brilliant
Andy
I have spent thousands on 12 inches..
@@stephentranter854that makes absolutely no sense mate
Only need 2 - 3 rigs max . All the different rigs are just to sell products and does not build confidence in one's ability.
And the people believe the shit which the industry tells them... You need that to catch the 50 pounder. 🥳😂
Multi rig, 3 components.. Hook, hook lengh material and a bait screw. 👌🏼
@@JLSGamingYT no bait? 😂 - sorry, couldn’t resist that! Not being a cocky sod I promise 😉
@@SPS_survivorcocky sod 😂😉
Ronnie rigs are the best if the best
And next week he will be telling us that the next rig is the one we need!
Thanks for this pal, always nice to see methods from start to finish.
Ian is a great fella and a good angler too
I use pretty much the same rig for all my fishing, only difference is that I crimp the loops. I even use it as a helicopter rig, with a heli-swivel at the line end. I do like the idea of a short piece of tube, as opposed to an anti-tangle sleeve, so will use this in future. Thanks
Nice. Yes, deadly and reliable. Good work.
Great vid nice en simple also VERY effective!🎣🎣👍
I remember when this fella brought out the "flick rig " that was "the only rig you needed" back then
Nice to see you put your tag ends in the rubbish bag seen lots of people just throwing them on the floor
😁
Fire is hot, hooks are sharp.
Proper JOB
love it..,
As always love Ian Russell content, but Ian you need to start Heathrow Bait services again, your pukka pineapple pop ups were the best I’ve used and the stench boilies too!
Loving the look of those weighted beads 👍
Glad you like them!
Anyone have a link to those beads ? , can't find yhrm , love the look
Caught my new pb on the spinner rig yesterday
Good vid mate but what lead do u use, inline or swivel lead
Pop up rig I use a Ronnie, bottom bait I use a German, solid bag I use a German, caught my pb on the Ronnie and caught loads on ova bags, unless I get any issues I won’t be changing
Stick with what works for you :)
German rig is lethal. Love it.
Hi! Is there a way to get more information about the rigs you are using? A chart describing the rigs and how to get the components. I am Canadian trying to catch a few fish with this kind of gear. Need help though. Thank you!😊
Where can I get one of those boxes to put the rigs in?
Use the NGT version of the same rig box. Really useful and inexpensive too. Going to tie some of these rigs and use the box for keeping them in. Thanks Ian for the directions to make them.
Those rubber tungsten beads look the dogs danglies Ian , are they carp spirit ?? also that flurocarbon straightened out pukka ( 21 stretches heats up slightly)...
Tight Lines fella , great video Total Carp thanks for making sharing...
Steve M
Thanks for the comment Steve. Not 100% sure on the make of the beads but will find out for you 👌🏻
Avid XL rig drops
Banging rig what make are those tungsten weights 🔥👍🏻
I'll find out exactly which ones they are but lots of companies now do them 😊
Hi there , I just finished making them rigs ... I'm going to give them a go ...Thay look so good, lots of free moments ...Will let you know how I get on...
Have fun!
So no fish with that rig in a year 😂
can i fish this rig with a snowman or a chain of sweet corn aswell?
Should krimp your boom, no kinks from figure 8 knot, much neater and can get your boom to exactly the length you want
Just learn to tie a perfection loop knot ,problem solved, forget booms and crimps,to many weak points
@@felipfelop8220people who Krimp have no interest in learning knots and improving their angling ability ... they want instant results and no effort 😬😬... the perfection loop knot is perfect 👍👍👍🌞
What are the tungsten beads used to weigh down the pop up?
not sure on the exact make but lots of companies do them now ☺️
You must let me know who your manicurist is. 😂😂
He can’t remember as he doesn’t visit often. She cuts his nails short to avoid to weekly visits. 😂😂
As the hook length or boom is so strong, do you need to use even higher lb main line so that if it snaps, it will snap on the hook length? Then the fish is only carrying a bit of hooklength and not loads of line? Or am I overthinking it?
That is typically how you would set up with lighter tackle (e.g. float fishing) where there is more substantial risk of the line snapping, however this is not necessarily the case in carp fishing where the mainline used is typically much stronger anyway. It's more important to fish a safe rig in these situations, where the carp can discharge the lead in the event of a crack off or line being cut by an obstacle.
@totalcarpmagazine great, thanks for the reply. Top video and I'll be copying this from start to finish.
It appears that your " size 4 " is not a size 4 that I would buy at any store here in the USA. From what I can tell that has to be either a size 2 or maybe a 1 or 1/0 . a size 4 is very small here. I think I could use a very small hook but I cant see why I would do that.
Hi buddy, these are indeed size 4 in the UK. Perhaps you have different hook sizing over there?
Lütfen Türkçe altyazı da eklermisiniz ❤
What stops the hooklink folding back on itself laying along the flouro leader.
feeling the lead down, flouro is stiff so it should kick out
]
But there is no anti tangle sleeve it's a loop on the swivel which creates a hinge allowing it to fold back along the leader
What I mean is if a carp ejects the rig it could end up on top of the leader
Wait, what?...but what do I do with all the last lot of "only rigs you'll ever need" I still have?
Out of all of them, which is your favourite?😉
@@totalcarpmagazine My favourite is the "Inverted Zig"...had lots of success with it👌
he did rave about his flick rig not long ago ?
This rig is the one he most frequently uses ☺️
@@totalcarpmagazine naaa
Nice, but its not a safetysystem
Don't know if the myths of fluorocarbon really work ? Sticks out like a lazer beam and gets dirty very quickly.
Works pretty well for Ian, that man has caught plenty of fish.
@@totalcarpmagazine gets dirty quickly and it's not true about the light refractive properties and invisible in water ? I can see it "
What rig do you use karen. I mean darren
@@leesurman2331 to be honest I just use a swivel on hook with hook stop use it for bottom baits wafters and pop ups , too much hype abouts products in the carp world now ? Most are trying to catch the angler and not the fish ? Prefer braid but otherwise for hooklink I use a match line preston innovations power ! Awesome stuff ! Zigs I use clarkes or formerly known as silstar match the lowest diameter line I've ever used perfect 👌
@@darrenrichardson6803 you mean like a German rig or like the swivel going through the eye ov the hook
Surely that's just a turbo german on a fluro boom as it doesn't have a ring swivel
It is still a ronnie as he tied it to the swivel with a loop, if he had used another knot then yes it would be a turbo german
It's not a twig rig. (Death rig).
Theres too many anglets trying to flog stuff to you, keep it all simple and basic and work the numbers yourself on what works on your venue
To much
Yawn...... ..................................
...................
Yawn aswell 😂
So theres 10 parts to your rig and thats keeping it simple? ok whatever you say.
Why not a common? 🤷🏻♂️😂
