*Awesome product! Great quality feel **enjoyable.fishing** recommend it’s light yet extremely sturdy and well built. Will definitely recommend. Already placing a second order!*
There is a multitude of methods to tie this rig, but I have not seen the idea of lead core to assist the putty. That is a great idea John - one of which I will adopt. Thank you very much!
I've started using the old wire from my left over float stops to secure the putty on my Ronnie rigs because I find it wants to slip down or off, works a treat.
By far the most successful rig I've used on my syndicate but it works best for me with a semi-stiff or stiff coated hooklink. Personally don't think a figure of eight is needed on a coated hooklink as it's braid so doesn't slip like mono. Top video as ever.
Wicked my 100 percent go to rig.. Look John no thumbs down see people listening they are... Well done everyone... Atleast we know everyone loves there mom this week 🤣🤣🤣
I tried this rig in a match last month, albright knotted to a stiff section with an anti-tangle sleeve. I krimped the stiff section. Attached the whole lot to my chod leader and caught a very nice 19lbs13oz common. Great rig! I chose this option so i could quick change the hook, the peg i drew did a lot of bream and tench last year. Sure enough i caught plenty of tench and bream before and after that common, so good choice in the end😎👍 too bad it was a carp angling match😜

In comparison to the bait that rob Burgess uses in one of his videos I think he uses the same rig but he only has couple inches of braided hook link then it’s tied onto a fluro piece of link also. What difference does the rig he use do to the one in this video? Thanks
Hi, I think Rob was using a Combi Rig which is very good clear water conditions etc. and especially wafting and snowman hookbaits. You'll find more information here: ruclips.net/video/F1s9PGcOp04/видео.html
Hi all, just tied this up with hybrid stiff. If anyone else is trying that you’ll find it won’t pass easily through a size 6 eye. To fix this you can bait floss your hook on :) hope this helps
Hi Chester, we really wouldn't advise using bait floss to attach hooks, its not made for that purpose and really wouldn't have the strength or abrasive resistance - much better to use a soft coated braid.
@@MainlineBaitsCarpFishingTV Sorry what I meant was, if you make a multi rig from hybrid stiff, you’ll struggle to pass the loop through the size 6 hook eye. So you can pass some bait floss through the hook eye around your loop of hybrid stuff back through the eye and drag the the stiff loop through, using the floss, Hope that cleared up what I meant 😆
Another awesome vid i see Merry christmas to john and Mainline family i had a question about your tigernut tubs how long do they last once opened and how to keep fresh and storing them any guide lines would be awesome really love your vids
Once opened they should last 1-2 weeks if stored in a cool place away from direct sun light etc. you can add some water to the jar plus a Particle & Pellet Syrup or Stick Mix Liquid and that will extend the time.
I played around with lots of rigs this year, people do use this for bottom baits and wafters although I tie up blowback rigs now. If you want to try it, I’d suggest you tie the hook end loop as small as possible so you can just about change the hook. That way, the part of the loop past the eye will act effectively as a small kicker/shank extension. Then you can peel back a little more of the coating and put your putty behind this. Hope this helps 👊🏼
@@DanYingers28 no worries man, I was doing my head in trying to find a bottom bait wafter rig where you could change the hook. This definitely will pass the palm test. The reason I didn’t stick with it, is I wanted to use curve shank hooks for my presentation so the gape was closed up with my stiff coated hooklink sadly. I did try bending the eyes out but snapped a couple of hooks so gave up. Let me know how it works out 🎣 I don’t think many places have fished well this year
@@chestersouth601 tried it out today, caught a 17lb mirror with it, balanced tiger nut, absolutely nailed in bottom lip! Bites been hard on this lake lately so well happy with that! Gonna keep trying it, see how it goes. Cheers!
I don't get how the bait would stay in position throughout a hard cast or a medium cast and how the bait would move as it goes through water . Also if you hook PVA mesh balls to your hook again it would all move ... Not a great all round rig to me
Think about what happens when it hits the water? The pressure is on the boilie pulling up against the loop. The hook only slides on the loop when it's in a fishes lip

Loada shite!
Lead core wire as a griping mechanism for the putty is pretty smart, thanks for the tip I will give it a try.
Glad to help!
I started carp fishing this summer and your videos have helped me catch three 20s! Love it!

Love the multi rig hook holds are phenomenal
Yep a good rig, perhaps a little forgotten about these days!
Great instructional videos these John very good for all anglers wanting to see how to tie stuff properly well done mate.
Can't wait to make this rig. I have a week off work now so fishing it is.
Hope you enjoy it! Good Luck!

Nice Video... One step Forward, to my First carp...
Greetz from Germany 👋
I dont have any leadcore to use as an anchor point for the rig putty. I assume a slip shot would work the same?
Thanks you very easy rig and gd tutorial
You're welcome!
I love the idea of using the leadcore to hold the putty nice job!
Glad you like it!
Al be pro 1 day with all this knowledge in my armoury lol cheers John, big up on the banger once again

@@MainlineBaitsCarpFishingTV anything for my favourite bait company in the UK....dna is my 2nd... But I love you both dearly... 👍
You are the best! Thank you very much for this video and tips! All the best
Quick question when casting this rig how does the d section not become extended on the pressure of the cast ?
The drag of the hookbait in flight, and the tight fit of the hooklink running twice through the hook eye maintains the D.
Very Nice
Thanks!
Another great video guys can't wait for the next one cheers 🎣👍👍

Good stuff!
What's a good length for the rig when it's finished
Four to eight inches as a starting point
By attaching a Kicker you can fix the hook much better and could even use it with a small PVA-bag.
hey i am having trouble removing the cm of coated braid. Any tips?
Sharp finger nails
Would this work with a PVA bag if I didn’t use the anti tangle sleeve?
Brilliant rig John.
Thanks Alan!
More & more fisheries are banning any form of braid, do you have a similar rig using mono/flouro?

Thanks Ashley!
No worries. Are u doing a vid on slip d rig
Great clearly explained video as always 👍🏻
As a rookie fisherman, can I ask why a split lead could not be used instead of the wire and putty combo?
In the main it wouldn't be as neat and with a larger profile there is a chance of the rig tangling around a split shot.
Look up Julian Cundiff multi rig. He has used a green split shot for some 30 years. It looks awful but he has had thousands of carp on it.
Can you provide a link for all those equipment to buy???
Could you use a small shot weight if you don’t have putty?
Yes you could.
Does this allow for pop ups and boileys also I’m guessing pop ups come to the surface is that right?
This is fundamentally a pop-up rig, so yes some putty is needed to counter-balance its buoyancy to prevent is holding the whole rig up.
Genius!

Not really, as ideally you need to out turned eye the Chod style hook has.
Yes make the hook red hot and bent the eye

Go to a lake full of perch and trout using maggot feeder.
Le problème quand tu remonte la carpe, l' émérillonet tresse tapent et restent sur la base de l' hameçon !
C'est quoi l'avantage de ce montage ?
The real advantage of this set-up is being able to change just the hook to form a new rig.
It’s a great rig 👍 wondering would using a steel baiting screw do the same job as the swivel?
Yea it will u can get bait screws with a swivel from nash
Yeah you could use a bait screw.
Yes it does
I would try their multi baiting screw rig

Hi Mark you can cut a PVA nugget in half and place it inside the D loop (not on the hook point) to prevent the D closing on a big cast.
Its not a all round rig that's why they titled it the multi rig that's only for pop ups lol
Think about what happens when it hits the water? The pressure is on the boilie pulling up against the loop. The hook only slides on the loop when it's in a fishes lip
Uhhhh I can’t get the material through the hook eye 😩
Bait floss through the eye once. Put through loop, return bait floss through eye of hook and PULL. easy

Not sure what you're talking about here Craig? We've used a widely used and common micro barbed hook in this tutorial?
