    Got a question for ya man, since there’s bolts provided for the bottom control arm for the kings, could i reuse the stock ones? Bought some king coilovers off of someone and he didn’t provide the bolts for the bottom control arms. Thanks in advanced

    How did the Eibach perform for highway use compared to stock? Are the Kings way better than the Eibach? I am in the market for changing out my stock shocks.

    • @thetrailoutthere
      @thetrailoutthere  Год назад +1

      Compared to stock, the eibach performed amazing! Less nosedive on dips, and I stopped bottoming out. Definitely recommend them if you're on a budget. I do recommend pairing them with bilstein 5100 adjustable shocks, though. The kings, well, let's just say it was leaps and bounds better than the eibach setup.

    • @toobsguy
      @toobsguy Год назад

      Did you have any issues running the Eibachs? Spoke with one of their reps and said on a Trail Boss, the Stage 1 would actually drop the front about 1/4” on the bottom circlip and the middle circlip would lead to rubbing against the UCA.

    • @thetrailoutthere
      @thetrailoutthere  Год назад

      I didn't have any of those issues. The spring rate is higher than the stock spring so it allowed me to fit 35s with minor trimming. I ran that setup for a while before I blew the shocks in deathvalley, but I was mobbing in high temperatures so that's my fault.

    How do they ride? I’ve got fox 2.0 on the front rn and am looking to upgrade. Running deaver leafs and king 2.5’s in the rear and am really happy with them.

    • @thetrailoutthere
      @thetrailoutthere  Год назад +1

      It's like riding on a cloud compared to the stock setup and even the eibach springs it had. If you don't preload them too much it's perfect. You can hit bumps or whoops at high speed without bottoming out.

    • @thetrailoutthere
      @thetrailoutthere  2 года назад

      This is from black horse armor but you can also find it under the name "barricade" front bumper or if you want a low profile one Bulken makes those.

    AWESOME TRUCK !!
    Did you have to lift the bed for the rear resi?

    • @thetrailoutthere
      @thetrailoutthere  2 года назад

      Thanks boss! Not at all. You can install the rear shocks by compressing the shock by hand kinda like bench pressing it or by compressing it using a jack to line up the holes.

    • @thetrailoutthere
      @thetrailoutthere  2 года назад +2

      Also, the bed won't sag if you remove the shocks since the leaf springs hold it up. The shocks are just there to dampen the ride and make it smooth. You can technically drive without front and rear shocks but it'll be a rough ride.

    How did this affect your ride height compared to the stock trail boss lift?

    • @thetrailoutthere
      @thetrailoutthere  3 года назад +1

      It levels it out but you can adjust the height to your liking once they're on. Very easy process, 5 turns on the coilover clamp equals 1 inch. King doesn't recommend going beyond 5 turns on the preload otherwise it won't perform like a king coilover should.

  • @Realricketycricket

    Can these kings get you 3” of lift from an stock Silverado?

    • @thetrailoutthere
      @thetrailoutthere  3 года назад

      They can but it'll affect the intended ride quality they were designed for due to the increased pre-load (stiffer ride)

    Any issue with the Eibach coil over?

    • @thetrailoutthere
      @thetrailoutthere  3 года назад +1

      The shocks went out in death valley while on some washboard roads. These aren't intended for that but I took the risk that day. Other than that they're a huge difference over stock and you don't bounce around like you do with the stock setup. I'm on king coilovers now.

  • @juniorcontreras642
    @juniorcontreras642 2 года назад

    How much did this setup cost you my man?

    • @thetrailoutthere
      @thetrailoutthere  2 года назад +2

      It was about $2,400 for the coilovers and the UCA'S. For the front only. If add the rear setup it's about an extra grand. I know someone selling the front coilovers for $2,500 if interested. Brand new in the box. It's a bit more than what they sell for online but you don't have to wait a ridiculous amount of time.

    Nice vid, bro. Be careful with those polyurethane bushings and using that red grease. I used the same stuff for my Spohn trailing arms on my Tahoe and that grease is non-comparible with poly bushings. All mine deteriorated within a year. I found out that you can only use 100% silicone grease only for poly bushings. Best route is to order some Super Lube 100% silicone grease from Home Depot. You'd be surprised how difficult it is to find 100% silicone grease at your local stores, so just order online like I did. Its a specific product from Super Lube, too, so let me know if want all the info and I'll get it for you
