Dude I’m so surprised your spanner wrench worked without having to compress the coilover and you were able to adjust the ride height. Im going to try this now, just out of curiosity & go buy one just like yours 👍 Awesome video man ! 😎🤘🏼
They weren’t difficult per say, it was more that it was holding my alignment way beyond what I had originally had. Now obviously the alignment was going to change either way but at the time I felt more comfortable keeping the stock cams in it due to the fact that I wasn’t going to be mobing the truck that hard in dirt or woops, just worked out better for me to fit my needs of a daily/light trail runner. If you plan on going hard on your truck in dirt and often, I highly recommend the dirt king alignment cams 👍🏻
Thanks! You can follow me on instagram too for more info and behind the scenes stuff. The kings are great, an update review video is in the works so keep an eye out for that this summer! 🤙🏻
One last question. I’ve noticed the kings with adjusters are about 300$ more. Are you doing just fine without them? Or do you wish you would have gotten them? I feel like I personally won’t use them ever but who knows haha
@@edddddddddddddd no worries man, always feel free to ask as much as you need. So I had the same thought but to be honest, I’ve never really thought I need to soften the front end. I don’t mob it that hard to need to change the settings. If you plan on going hard with your truck, you can either do the softer tune from Accutune or whatever off-road shop you get yours from or do the adjusters, either one would work, just depends on what you want to do and how hard you want to send it with your rig 👍🏻
Hey man! So with this set up you can adjust and fine tune your ride height to be leveled and or just above or below, whatever you prefer. King recommends 0 to no more than 2 3/4 inches of adjusted ride height. That’s for peak performance of the shock per their instructions I used in the video. But yes I think it rides better than stock in my opinion so yeah, better than stock on lift spacers.
Thanks! No planning to lift this truck but any one else’s, maybe. I make videos working on anyone’s cool projects I get I be a part of, not just my own haha there are more suspension mods coming for this truck though
I got a stock chevy as well only thing stopping from leveling it is the cv angle you think im overthinking it? I'm going rancho quicklift tho! I got a budget..
So the CV angle on mine really isn’t that bad at all, and that’s with the Kings adjusted to just over 2 inches. I’d say as long as your coil spacer isn’t more than 2inches you should be perfectly fine
For wheel fitment, I would suggest consulting your tire information placard on the drivers side door jam of your truck. Usually, that placard will tell you your tire pressures for all tires, including your spare. GM has been known to run a smaller rim for their spare regardless of what is factory on your truck ( ie truck comes with 20, spare is 17) all that to tell you go with whatever size rim the spare is, that would be the easiest way to know the smallest rim you can run on the truck. And to fit a 35, I’d imagine as long as you adjust the kings to approx 2.5 inches above stock, it should fit with minimal trimming to fender liners or plastic covers. I hope that is helpful.
It’s awesome and yes, as a matter of fact, tune in next week as I am in the process of filming a full review of the upgrades done to the truck, including the suspension.
For the shocks I went with Accutune’s “Adventure tune”. After talking with a couple of the guys there and telling them what I would like to use my rig for, they said the adventure tune will be the best for my needs. I highly recommend if you’re interested in getting the kings from them that you give them a call to talk to them about your wants and needs from your truck before ordering and they can help guide you to the best set up for you.
Yes, absolutely! I believe I said that in the end of the video, if I didn’t, then yes definitely make sure to get an alignment after doing any suspension modifications or repairs.
Worth every penny! Depending on the tune level you pick from Accutune, it will vary however the adventure tune I am running has so far proven to be just the right amount of more stiff, over stock but still soaks up the bumps!
Keep Grinding We remember how great we felt when we hit 100 Subs! always a great feeling to get your first set of Kings also!
super solid choice, holler when they need to be serviced!
I’ll keep that in mind, thank you!
First video I've seen.. amazing video thanks for sharing.. totally following keep up with the work 🤘🤘
What tune did you go with ?
I already have a leveling kit on my 2016 sliverado so if i get these it would be the same leveled and better suspension
I went with the adventure tune, they feel great on and off road!

Cool man! Good luck! I would highly recommend lubricating the threads before attempting to adjust it. Just to be safe.
@@TheBeardedTortilla worked for me, thanks 🤘🏼
Looking to adjust my coils, do I turn right or left to crease and d I have to loosen the collar first ?
Why were the Dirt King camber locking plates too difficult to install? Just curious, did you use them later?

Where do the mounts for the resivoirs go? Having trouble with mine
So sorry for the lag in response, they bolt on top of the factory shock tower, I believe using the shock bolts them selves.
nice video, are those the oem king shocks
yes the oem performance series

Any backspacing issues putting the stock wheel back on
Hey Mathew! No sir, with the factory 20s it had tons of room, i downsized to 17s now and although it is tight, there is zero rubbing
Awesome thank you! I want this kit for my Denali and was hoping to be able to keep the factory wheels for a little!
Do these coils give 3” of lift ?
They are adjustable. King advises no more than 2.5 inches before it starts to ride stiffer
What is the height preset on the coilovers?
So I have the extended travel coil overs, they came out to about half an inch over stock at the zero/ out of the box setting.
Are you going to replace the rear suspension with King Shocks?
Yes, probably in the first of 22! Stay tuned and thanks for watching!
@@TheBeardedTortilla How is the ride quality after the upper control arm and the king shocks?
@@ba761996 it rides fantastic. That is the next video that will be posted some time next week is my review of the changes thus far.
@@TheBeardedTortilla is it required to remove the bump stop for the uca?
@@ba761996 yes, due to the truck sitting higher and the change in the control arm angle, the instructions from Dirt King say you have to.
Since you cut off the droop stops do the front axles bind up at full front droop?
Nope or at least not that I have noticed.
I really would have liked some feed back on well it drove compared to stock you didn’t say shit so I have to assume there was no difference
That is an upcoming video actually! But take my word for it, it rides a lot better in all the right ways!
Don't you need to do wheel alignment?
Yes, absolutely! I believe I said that in the end of the video, if I didn’t, then yes definitely make sure to get an alignment after doing any suspension modifications or repairs.
