One thing you should do even with the higher riser is to keep the riser in line with the steering post. It might be fine on the trails but if you plan to do any off trail riding you should keep it inline. Gives you less feedback (feeling from the skis over the bumps) when maneuvering the sled and actually gives you better leverage. When you turn the sled or counter steer in the powder, your don't have to reach as far either.
Ergos are far ahead on doos but it puts you in the sweet spot! Looking forward to the seasons videos!

See my other reply below. I agree that it makes sense for offtrail and riding the deep stuff, however for more on-trail riding, you want to be over the skis. I do more trail riding than offtrail and this is a better position. Cheers, Mike

I have a '22 Expedition Xtreme because I really needed a sled to fill a utility role but this would be my second choice.

It’s a nice color but I couldn’t pull the trigger on it so I went with the all black either color you choose it’s a badass machine for 2024 👍👍

I've noticed that ski-doo didn't put the carbide tips on the ice scratchers. Mine keep on falling off no matter how tight they are and I've even used lock tight on the threads of them. They're not cheap to replace the carbide tips. I'm debating if I'll buy a set of carbide tips for my new ice scratchers.

I've never used them so can't comment on them but I never had any issues not using them either. Cheers, Mike

@@sledaddicz , when I use them on my '22 backcountry x 850 I've seen the engine temperature go down to about 109 degrees. So far no snow in Minnesota.

Riders choice obviously but your riser should be more inline if not totally inline with the steering post, mess's with the turning radius at that upright angle and can have a big effect when ripping through bumps, but riders choice and ergos.

Thanks. I totally get what you are saying and have heard this from a few guys over the years. Theoretically, it makes sense but unfortunately it doesn't as far as control and feeling on the sled for me when on-trail. I'd rather be up over the front end as much as possible than be pushed further back on the sled. It doesn't feel as comfortable especially when standing. Thanks for watching and appreciate the comments. Cheers, Mike
