Smart move with safety imo. Love this gun. PERIOD. I know safety haters. If you have or around kids, new shooter, hunt and fish or any activity involves bending over etc. This guns added security is for you. If you are in the streets or have or made problems with people and can't try de escalating, I get the manual safety concerns. Not jumpy as some sig lovers like me, says they are. Must have for any gun fanboy. Its 4real.
Don’t have an optic on mine, but I did buy it for the safety. However I found the safety kept flipping itself off. Doing that apex tactical sells basically a plug that you install on the right side so it makes it a single side safety. Installed it a few days ago, so you only have the flipper on the left side. Has not clicked off once since then. Seems like this configuration should have been a factory option for right handed shooters. Once installed, on the right side, you effectively have just a blank round plug where the safety was, but you can use the safety lever on the left side. Very happy with it and makes me feel a lot more comfortable with this back in my edc rotation.
When my cousin handed me this pistol and told me it didn’t have a manual safety I was in disblief😂 it’s a nice piece but I prefer a manual safety on my pistol. I would not feel comfortable walking around with that thing on me. The added manual safety is fantastic
I’m hoping for a DA/SA Hammer Fired Version that uses the Hellcat 13Round or 15 Mags as flush fit Mags. I won’t own a striker pistol. The XDe is the only Springfield Pistol I own now
Honestly i don't see why everyone doesn't want this. If you dont want to use it you can just keep it unlocked right? I figured Manual locks only lock when u yourself manually lock it.
I never understood why gun people are so against safeties. They go on about training, but somehow think it's impossible to train to disengage a safety. They also don't seem to mind that it's protocol for people to engage the safety on long rifles when not in use and disengage before firing. That's normal and they don't have a problem with it. I want a god damn safety. That doesn't make you a sissy or anything if you do too. I like the idea of having it in the holster with the safety on. I will take the time to practice disengaging upon draw thanks.
Love you show but the wasp is a garbage optic. Tried it and man the always on feature with no way to brighten the optic manually is terrible. In low light the way it just blinks its design is good but the way it works does not compare to a holosun 507k or a swamp fox. Nice show.
Thank you Springfield for this thumb safety option. I will now purchase one.
I'm with you. How do you like it?
Just got my hellcat yesterday can’t wait to try it out
Awesome little gun and love the manual safety option.

New shooter here!
Finally. Some who provided an in depth review of the manual safety. Thank you.
If you need a manual safety on a compact, do society a favor and leave your gun in the drawer

I prefer a safety on my pistol
Me too. Always had a safety on my M9 in the Corps. Piece of mind
So do I!
Absolutely love the hellcat with wasp optic. Very comfortable and accurate.
This is an excellent, no-frills review. Well done. (In five minutes you convinced me to get it.)

Just picked up the hellcat an hr ago. Now I'm looking for an optic.
I enjoyed this review and the delivery. Quality. Thanks for this review--subbed!
Looked at one today, think I'll be getting it✌️
What is that specific case in the beginning when you opened to reveal the gun
Think they will make a FDE model with osp and manual safety? That’s what I’d like.
Good for a first conceal carry ?
I have this exact version of the hellcat. I personally don't use the safety but it's there should i need it😁
The Wasp red dot is underrated , doesn't need to be eotech to be ABSOFUCKINGLUTELY PERFECT !!!

I own now
Got one✌️ not with the manual safety but.... now I have to get a battery for the wasp red-dot hopefully it will last longer 🤷
Is the wasp optical discontinued? I wanted to get it for my hellcat.
Great post
Just bought one today for my first edc hand gun and i am not a huge fan of not haveing a manual safty

Subbed...good breakdown on this. I agree...a safety is some training away from proficiency
Also subbed!
Anyone have an opinion on recoil of this pistol compared to the 365X?
Got my Hellcat last year. Love it. Question though...can you holster it with the OSP sight?
Idk about other holsters but tulster makes one for hellcat osp
Can't find it anywhere
yeah this is prob gonna be me first pistol
Love ❤️ mine , look down Iron sights and very accurate . No frame mounted safely, don't want nor need one . The safely is between my ears!
Can I put a safety on my Hellcat Pro ❓
pretty sure u can install one

Please stop making these videos. That cost me money. This combo is HAWT.
Price on them?

My Hellcat doesn’t have the safety ~ I need to upgrade 🤦♂️
Vshould have the trigger safety. Wish I would of gotten mine with this option too
That safety looks like it’s in an odd place. It’s to far back imo.
It's about the same as a basic 1911 safety, just smaller
