Do you know how much parking is ? Also if they have a shuttle ? And is the breakfast better then Candy cane inn ?
@@autumn2156 They don’t have a shuttle. You won’t need it. It’s that close to the park. It’s actually a shorter walk to Disneyland from this hotel than from the actual Disneyland hotel.
Parking, I’m not sure on costs anymore. Their website should have that info.
And Candy Cane’s breakfast is definitely better than here.
Candy Cane has a shuttle because it’s a little further away, but Best Western you can see the entrance sign from the hotel.
@@SoCalDisneyDad with the candy cane inn does there breakfast have sausage, bacon , breakfast eggs I seen boiled eggs or waffles ?
Thanks for this video. I love staying in the Hotels close to Disneyland. Super practical when you travel with kids😊
We love this hotel! Great review; our family agrees. We were just here last February. The breakfast was an unexpected surprise at how great it was.
I was missing this hotel after the last two we stayed at were quite a bit further away than we usually stay (but more affordable).
I have a room booked here for the first week in December and I can't wait! I went to Disneyland for the first time last year and I stayed at the Anaheim and really loved it BUT my feet hurt so, so bad at the end of every night that even that short walk to the hotel left me in a lot of pain. The idea of being able to walk directly across the street and be done (and the ease of being able to take a nap in the middle of the day if needed) convinced me to give the Best Western a try.
It was excellent for that for sure! I was so impressed with how close it was at the end of the night.
I mean, I knew it was close. Had walked it in the afternoon. But after a long day in the park, it was definitely worth it to be that close.
Midday naps are definitely helpful!
yup. Getting sketcher shoes just for when i go to Disneyland. Walking 10 miles a day is not easy.
Thank you for the review, this was super helpful!!
We stayed a little further away just last night and found ourselves wishing we’d stayed at the Best Western again.
It’s a solid option!
First time i went to disney with my gf was covid stayed here i remember it so much it was amazing
Our family of 5 is staying there in Sept so i hope the sofa bed is comfy. Not many regular rooms accommodate 5 comfortably so I was happy when I saw this one with the couch.
We didn’t try the pull out, but they definitely have them!
me too
Thanks for the review🙂
Thank you!
Because it is so close to Disneyland and a really clean/nice hotel, I always try to book this hotel.
Good review👍
Thank you!
I was sooo excited to see this review video since we are planning to stay there when we go in November. Originally I had booked the Howard Johnson with the water play area but then realized it would be too cold for our kids to play in the water anyways. Thanks for the review and for verifying that this will very likely be a great fit for our family :)
The HoJo is great, but November is risky. It can go either way. We can still have 80 degree days, but it might be colder. So Best Western is a safer bet if the pool isn't an issue.
@@SoCalDisneyDadBW V/s Tropicana , which one you will choose ?
@@Ta-vq2lz I haven’t been to Tropicana yet. But BW has free breakfast and is just a bit closer so BW?
I like this spot. Might have to check it out in October. I really like that it had a fridge and microwave.
Always good to have BOTH of those things. A fridge without a microwave is pretty useless except for drinks or things you don’t mind eating cold (such as pizza? Am I weird for liking that cold? 😂)
@@SoCalDisneyDad omg cold pizza is awesome. But having the microwave is also good if your trying to budget eating out. Thanks again Traver (hope I spelled your name right 😊). You know I love your videos. Keep them coming!!! Say Hi to Amy!!! Love her and her laugh!!
@@jennifergonzalez6236 Perfect on the spelling!
I like this hotel. The rooms are very nice and so close to DL. The free breakfast too. I am wondering about the Candy Cane Inn. They have to be almost opened.
You would think. And you better believe as soon as they open we'll be staying there and having a review of it.
Can you take breakfast items back to your room?
We are coming from New Zealand in December and are booked to stay 19-25 December. Unfortunately couldn’t get the room you have as they sold out quick for those dates. Have a King bed with sofa bed for me and two teen boys - ages 15 and 17.
Yes! You should be able to take items from breakfast with you. We always stock up on cereal before we leave and put them in a throw away coffee cup and use them for munchies in the park.
Hey, I've stayed there, most recently in late 2021. I'll watch the video in a bit but I'll comment now so I'm not influenced... location can't be beat of course. Parking was a bit marginal. Front desk people were friendly. Room was dated but OK. They know with their location they don't have to really do anything special. But man, walking back after you've closed out the park makes it all worthwhile.
You basically just wrote a transcript for my video right there. 😂
@@SoCalDisneyDad Ha! Glad we're on the same page.
Do they have reserved parking per room? That would help out. I don't want to arrive and find out there is no available parking spots.
I know you posted this a while ago but wondering if there is an elevator up for breakfast? We have a wheelchair bound family member staying with us & am hoping breakfast is accessible.
I believe they do, but I would just quickly call the hotel to confirm before booking to be certain.
how about from that hotel to the adventure park? is it far from the main entrance?
They are the same distance. The two parks are right next to each other. You can see both entrances from the esplanade (area right after security).
They are about a minute walk apart (the two parks), but the same distance from the hotel.
How do you compare BW Plus Anaheim inn with this hotel in terms of the room look, break fast quality, clean and the entire atmosphere ?
I mean, it’s a really basic hotel with not the greatest appearance.
The things it has going for it are proximity (which is AMAZING when returning to your hotel at midnight) and free breakfast which is a huge perk considering most hotels don’t offer that.
hi what's the earliest time you can check in? planning on going to disneyland before the gate opens just as you suggested.
I would call and ask. If I recall, we didn’t check in until 3 PM. I had to park in the Disney parking garage and move the car at check in. Usually we like to check in early at 7 AM even if the hotel room isn’t available yet.
I think they have such limited parking that they don’t have room for early check ins if I remember right.
@@SoCalDisneyDad thanks for the quick response! i'll probably look for another hotel that allows me to park my car even before check in so i won't have to transfer it anymore
I miss the old intro! ❤
Will you be going to the del mar fair?
We had thought about it, wanted to the first week. But it’s probably not going to happen.
How is the shower water pressure?
It’s been awhile. I don’t recall. But it didn’t leave a negative impression? I would stay here again without hesitation.
Any chance that you’ll review the Best Western Plus Anaheim Inn?
At some point, I'm sure. But when, I don't know. I only stay in a hotel about once every 2-3 months. For an average of maybe 5-6 hotel reviews a year.
The only things that were good about this location was how close it was and the fact that breakfast was free. It was not very clean, and had water damage all over the bathroom and the blankets were really rough & starchy. I would not stay here if you like having a decent quality room.
Our pillows were so bad even the kids were complaining! We wound up going to buy new ones
A mom and a senior and 3 kids... Which neighborhood hotel? We are booked at Candy Cane but not sure about the distance. Help?
Candy Cane has a free shuttle. It’s honestly the best local hotel. But it’s also still pretty close. 5-7 minute walk if you walked it. It’s really manageable considering we’ve walked from hotels 20 minutes away.
@@SoCalDisneyDad thank you for the quick reply!
Try the alo hotel
Exercise is good for well being.
Oh did they have hairdryers here? I can't see one in the video.
Yes, according to their website. Neither my wife or I could remember, but we were able to confirm on their list of amenities.
is there a parking fee?
and if there is, how much? thank you for the reply
Or reserved parking spot per room.. That would help insure you have a parking spot if you happen to leave for a few hours to visit another part of the LA area.
Im surprised at a pretty normal hotel experience right outside the gates! Prob more expensive though...
It’s about $300/night as are most of the hotels in that general proximity.
We’ve stayed at and reviewed the Grand Legacy at the Park, Howard Johnson, and Fairfield by Marriott.
They’re all in that first “block” on the other side of the street from the entrance and all around $300/night.
@@SoCalDisneyDad wow, not bad at ALL!
@@bell6dandy564 Once upon a time, $230 for the Candy Cane Inn (our favorite but it’s closed for renovations) was expensive. Disneyland Hotel used to be 😳 at $375.
Now Disneyland Hotel is around $600, so relatively speaking, $300 is reasonable.
Such is the economy we currently live in.
@@SoCalDisneyDad just staying at our local waterpark/hotel with a discount was around that amount for one of the two nights we stayed, in a boring ass town with only Paul Bunyan as the attraction, lol! I seriously thought it would be more for sonething DISNEY, so I am quite happily surprised! Thanks for your content!
@@bell6dandy564 😂🤣 Always happy to help.
How much a night?
Around $300/night. Prices vary by day and season.
The only think I don't like is adjoining rooms ugh
Horrible hotel if you have anyone with a wheelchair or mobility aids. We just finished a week here and one working elevator (the other has been apparently has been broken for at least 8 months). We made it very clear from booking I have a 9 year old in a wheelchair, they failed to mention continental breakfast is not wheelchair accessible as it’s on the second floor next door, so we had them bring it via room service, Which meant it was cold and soggy. They also refused to move us from our third floor room and the dated hallways are extremely hard to navigate with a wheelchair.
The front desk staff was horribly rude and everything I mentioned (including the dead slug in the elevator light) was a huge inconvenience.
